< Psalms 74 >

1 A psalm (maskil) of Asaph. God, why have you rejected us? Is it forever? Why does your anger burn so hot against the sheep of your own field?
Asaf dwom. Ao Onyankopɔn, adɛn enti na woapo yɛn koraa yi? Adɛn enti na wʼabofuo hye wʼadidibea nnwan?
2 Remember the people you made your own long ago, the tribe you redeemed and made your own. Remember too Mount Zion, the place where you live.
Kae nkurɔfoɔ a wotɔɔ wɔn teteete no, abusua a ɛyɛ wʼagyapadeɛ a wogyee wɔn no, Bepɔ Sion, baabi a woteɛ hɔ.
3 Come and walk through the complete devastation. The enemy has totally destroyed your Temple.
Dane wo ho kyerɛ mmubuiɛ a ɛda so wɔ hɔ yi so, saa ɔsɛeɛ a ɔtamfoɔ no de abrɛ wo kronkronbea no.
4 The enemy shouted in triumph right where you met with us. There they set up their war banners as signs of their victory.
Wʼatamfoɔ bobɔɔ mu wɔ baabi a wohyiaa yɛn no; wɔasisi wɔn mfrankaa sɛ agyiraeɛhyɛdeɛ wɔ hɔ.
5 They acted like men chopping down a forest with axes.
Wɔyɛɛ wɔn sɛ nnipa a wɔrehwim mmonnua de abubu nnua a ayɛ nkyɛkyerɛ.
6 With axes and hammers they smashed in the carved wooden panels.
Wɔde wɔn mmonnua ne nname bubuu nnua a wɔasene adi ho adwinneɛ no.
7 Then they set fire to your Temple, burning it to the ground. They defiled the place where you live, the place that bears your name.
Wɔhyee wo kronkronbea no dwerɛbee; wɔguu baabi a wo Din teɛ no ho fi.
8 They said to themselves, “Let's destroy it all!” So they burned down every place where God was worshiped throughout the land.
Wɔkaa wɔ wɔn akoma mu sɛ, “Yɛbɛtiatia wɔn so ayɛ wɔn pasaa!” Wɔhyee baabiara a wɔsom Onyankopɔn wɔ asase no so.
9 We no longer see any signs. There are no prophets left. And no one among us knows how long this will last.
Yɛnhunu wo nsɛnkyerɛnneɛ a ɛyɛ nwanwa biara bio; adiyifoɔ no nyinaa asa, na yɛn mu biara nnim nna dodoɔ a ɛbɛdie.
10 How long will the enemy ridicule you, God? Will they insult your character forever?
Ao Onyankopɔn, wʼatamfoɔ bɛsere wo akɔsi da bɛn? Wɔn a wɔkyiri woɔ no bɛgu wo din ho fi daa anaa?
11 Why do you hold back from doing something? Take action and destroy them!
Adɛn enti na woatwe wo nsa, wo nsa nifa no? Yi firi wʼatadeɛ mmobɔeɛ no mu na sɛe wɔn.
12 But you, God, are our king from long ago. You have saved us many times in the land.
Nanso, Ao Onyankopɔn, woyɛ me ɔhene firi tete; wode nkwagyeɛ ba asase so.
13 You were the one who split apart the sea by your strength; you broke the heads of the sea monsters.
Ɛyɛ wo na wode wo tumi paee ɛpo mu no; wopɛkyɛɛ nsuo mu ɔtweaseɛ no ti.
14 You were the one who crushed the heads of Leviathan, and you gave its body to the desert animals to eat.
Wopɛkyɛɛ Lewiatan no ti na wode no maa ɛserɛ so abɔdeɛ sɛ wɔn aduane.
15 You were the one who made springs and rivers flow with water. You made permanent rivers dry up.
Wo na womaa nsuwa ne nsutire tueeɛ; na womaa nsubɔntene a ɛtene weweeɛ.
16 You created the day, and also the night; you made the moon and the sun.
Adekyeeɛ wɔ wo na adesaeɛ nso yɛ wo dea; wode owia ne ɔsrane sisii hɔ.
17 You set the boundaries of the earth; you made summer and winter.
Ɛyɛ wo na wototoo asase so ahyeɛ nyinaa; wobɔɔ ahuhuro ne awɔ mmerɛ.
18 So keep in mind how the enemy ridiculed you, Lord, and how irreverent people insulted your reputation.
Ao Awurade, kae sɛdeɛ ɔtamfoɔ no sere woɔ, sɛdeɛ nkwaseafoɔ agu wo din ho fi.
19 Don't let wild animals kill your turtledoves! Don't abandon your people forever!
Mfa wʼaborɔnoma nkwa mma nkekaboa; mma wo werɛ mfiri wo nkurɔfoɔ a wɔrehunu amane no nkwa afebɔɔ.
20 Remember your promises in the agreement, because the land is full of dark places and violence.
Ma wʼapam no ho nhia wo, ɛfiri sɛ akakabensɛm ahyɛ asase no so sum ma.
21 Don't let those who suffer be mistreated again. Let the poor and needy praise you for you who are.
Mma wɔn a wɔahyɛ wɔn soɔ no anim nngu ase; ma ahiafoɔ ne mmɔborɔfoɔ nkamfo wo din.
22 Stand up, God, and plead your case. Don't forget how these foolish people insulted you all the time.
Ao Onyankopɔn, ma wo ho so na ka wo ara wʼasɛm; kae sɛdeɛ nkwaseafoɔ sere wo da mu nyinaa.
23 Don't ignore what your enemies have said, for their loud accusations against you are getting worse and worse!
Mmu wʼani ngu wɔn a wɔsɔre tia wo no nteateam so, wʼatamfoɔ gyegyeegye a ɛkɔ soro daa no. Wɔde ma dwomkyerɛfoɔ no. Wɔnto no sɛdeɛ wɔto “Nsɛe No” nne so.
