< Psalms 74 >

1 A psalm (maskil) of Asaph. God, why have you rejected us? Is it forever? Why does your anger burn so hot against the sheep of your own field?
Zabbuli ya Asafu. Ayi Katonda, lwaki otusuulidde ddala ennaku zonna? Obusungu bwo lwaki bunyookera ku ndiga z’omu ddundiro lyo?
2 Remember the people you made your own long ago, the tribe you redeemed and made your own. Remember too Mount Zion, the place where you live.
Ojjukire abantu bo be wagula edda; ekika kye wanunula okuba ababo. Ojjukire olusozi Sayuuni gye wabeeranga.
3 Come and walk through the complete devastation. The enemy has totally destroyed your Temple.
Tambulatambulako mu bifo by’ekibuga olabe bwe byonooneddwa! Olabe omulabe nga bw’azikirizza ennyumba yo.
4 The enemy shouted in triumph right where you met with us. There they set up their war banners as signs of their victory.
Abalabe bo baleekaanira mu kifo kyo gye twakuŋŋaaniranga; ne bagenda nga bakiramba n’ebendera zaabwe.
5 They acted like men chopping down a forest with axes.
Beeyisa ng’abantu ababagalidde embazzi abatema emiti mu kibira.
6 With axes and hammers they smashed in the carved wooden panels.
Batemyetemye n’embazzi ebintu ebyole, era ne babissessebbula n’obubazzi.
7 Then they set fire to your Temple, burning it to the ground. They defiled the place where you live, the place that bears your name.
Bookezza awatukuvu wo; ne bafaafaaganya ekifo kyo eky’Erinnya lyo.
8 They said to themselves, “Let's destroy it all!” So they burned down every place where God was worshiped throughout the land.
Baateesa nga bagamba nti, “Tujja kubazikiririza ddala!” Baayokya dda amasinzizo ga Katonda gonna agali mu nsi eno.
9 We no longer see any signs. There are no prophets left. And no one among us knows how long this will last.
Tetukyalaba ku bubonero bwo; ne bannabbi tewakyali n’omu. So tewali n’omu mu ffe ategeera ebyo lwe birikoma.
10 How long will the enemy ridicule you, God? Will they insult your character forever?
Ayi Katonda, omulabe alituusa ddi ng’akuduulira? Omulabe anavvoolanga erinnya lyo ennaku zonna? Bazikirize.
11 Why do you hold back from doing something? Take action and destroy them!
Lwaki totuyambye n’omukono gwo ogwa ddyo? Kiki ekikukuumisa omukono gwo ogwa ddyo mu kifuba kyo?
12 But you, God, are our king from long ago. You have saved us many times in the land.
Naye ggwe, Ayi Katonda, oli Kabaka wange wa dda; gw’oleeta obulokozi mu nsi.
13 You were the one who split apart the sea by your strength; you broke the heads of the sea monsters.
Ggwe wayawula mu mazzi g’ennyanja; omulabe n’omuzikiririza mu mazzi.
14 You were the one who crushed the heads of Leviathan, and you gave its body to the desert animals to eat.
Wamenyaamenya emitwe gya lukwata ogunene; n’oguwaayo okuba ekyokulya eri ebitonde eby’omu ddungu.
15 You were the one who made springs and rivers flow with water. You made permanent rivers dry up.
Ggwe wazibukula ensulo n’emyala; ate n’okaza n’emigga egyakulukutanga bulijjo.
16 You created the day, and also the night; you made the moon and the sun.
Obudde bw’emisana bubwo, n’ekiro kikyo; ggwe wakola omwezi n’enjuba.
17 You set the boundaries of the earth; you made summer and winter.
Ggwe wateekawo ensalo z’ensi; ggwe wakola ebiro eby’ekyeya n’eby’obutiti.
18 So keep in mind how the enemy ridiculed you, Lord, and how irreverent people insulted your reputation.
Jjukira ebyo, Ayi Katonda, olabe okuduula kw’omulabe, n’abantu abasirusiru nga bwe banyoomodde erinnya lyo.
19 Don't let wild animals kill your turtledoves! Don't abandon your people forever!
Ayi Katonda, towaayo mwoyo gwa jjiba lyo eri ensolo enkambwe; so teweerabiriranga ddala bulamu bw’abantu bo ababonyaabonyezebwa.
20 Remember your promises in the agreement, because the land is full of dark places and violence.
Ojjukire endagaano yo; kubanga ensi ejjudde ekizikiza n’abantu abakambwe.
21 Don't let those who suffer be mistreated again. Let the poor and needy praise you for you who are.
Tokkiriza abo abajoogebwa okuwangulwa; era leka abaavu n’abeetaaga batenderezenga erinnya lyo ennaku zonna.
22 Stand up, God, and plead your case. Don't forget how these foolish people insulted you all the time.
Yimuka, Ayi Katonda, osalire abalabe baffe omusango. Jjukira abo abatakussaamu kitiibwa, nga bwe bakuduulira obudde okuziba.
23 Don't ignore what your enemies have said, for their loud accusations against you are getting worse and worse!
Tonyooma luyoogaano lw’abalabe bo, n’okuleekaana okwa buli kiseera.
