< Psalms 74 >

1 A psalm (maskil) of Asaph. God, why have you rejected us? Is it forever? Why does your anger burn so hot against the sheep of your own field?
2 Remember the people you made your own long ago, the tribe you redeemed and made your own. Remember too Mount Zion, the place where you live.
3 Come and walk through the complete devastation. The enemy has totally destroyed your Temple.
4 The enemy shouted in triumph right where you met with us. There they set up their war banners as signs of their victory.
Nang kah tingtunnah khui ah nang aka daengdaeh rhoek te kawk uh tih miknoek khaw amamih kah miknoek te a khueh uh.
5 They acted like men chopping down a forest with axes.
Thing ding ah a so la hai aka thueng bangla tueng.
6 With axes and hammers they smashed in the carved wooden panels.
Tedae hai neh a thuk a thingthuk boeih khaw thilung neh nawn a phop uh.
7 Then they set fire to your Temple, burning it to the ground. They defiled the place where you live, the place that bears your name.
Na rhokso te hmai neh a hoeh uh tih na ming aka phuei tolhmuen te diklai duela a poeih uh.
8 They said to themselves, “Let's destroy it all!” So they burned down every place where God was worshiped throughout the land.
A lungbuei nen tah, “Rhenten m'phae coeng,” a ti uh tih, diklai ah Pathen kah tingtunnah boeih te a hoeh uh.
9 We no longer see any signs. There are no prophets left. And no one among us knows how long this will last.
Mahmih kah miknoek khaw m'hmu uh pawh. Tonghm a om voelpawt tih mamih khuiah aka ming thai he mevaeng hil nim a om pawt ve?
10 How long will the enemy ridicule you, God? Will they insult your character forever?
Pathen tah me hil nim rhal loh a veet vetih thunkha loh na ming he a yoeyah la a tlaitlaek ve?
11 Why do you hold back from doing something? Take action and destroy them!
Balae tih na kut na yueh. Na rhang kah na oltlueh khui lamloh na bantang kut neh khap kanoek saw.
12 But you, God, are our king from long ago. You have saved us many times in the land.
Tedae Pathen he hlamat lamkah diklai tollung ah khangnah aka saii ka manghai pai ni.
13 You were the one who split apart the sea by your strength; you broke the heads of the sea monsters.
14 You were the one who crushed the heads of Leviathan, and you gave its body to the desert animals to eat.
15 You were the one who made springs and rivers flow with water. You made permanent rivers dry up.
Namah loh tuisih soklong khaw na hep tih tuiva puei khaw na haang sak.
16 You created the day, and also the night; you made the moon and the sun.
Khothaih khaw namah kah, khoyin khaw namah kah, vangnah neh khomik khaw namah loh na soep na boe.
17 You set the boundaries of the earth; you made summer and winter.
Namah loh diklai kah rhilung boeih na suem tih khohal neh sikca khaw namah loh na hlinsai.
18 So keep in mind how the enemy ridiculed you, Lord, and how irreverent people insulted your reputation.
BOEIPA aka veet thunkha neh na ming yah aka bai pilnam ang he poek lah.
19 Don't let wild animals kill your turtledoves! Don't abandon your people forever!
Na vahui kah a hinglu te satlung taengla na pae pawt tih na mangdaeng rhoek kah a hingnah khaw a yoeyah la na hnilh moenih.
20 Remember your promises in the agreement, because the land is full of dark places and violence.
Kuthlahnah rhamtlim te diklai khohmuep khuiah a baetawt dongah paipi te paelki laeh.
21 Don't let those who suffer be mistreated again. Let the poor and needy praise you for you who are.
Mangdaeng hmaithae khaw hlanghnaep pahnap la mael boel saeh lamtah na ming te khodaeng rhoek loh thangthen uh saeh.
22 Stand up, God, and plead your case. Don't forget how these foolish people insulted you all the time.
Pathen aw thoo laeh.
23 Don't ignore what your enemies have said, for their loud accusations against you are getting worse and worse!
Nang aka tlai thil rhoek kah longlonah tah cet yoeyah.
