< Psalms 72 >

1 A psalm of Solomon. God, please give the king fairness, and give the king's son the ability to do what's right.
Salomo dwom. Ao, Onyankopɔn, fa wʼatɛntrenee dom ɔhene no, na fa wo trenee ma ɔhene babarima.
2 May he rightly judge your people, and may he be fair to the poor.
Ɔde trenee bebu wo nkurɔfo atɛn, obebu wo nkurɔfo a wɔrehu amane no atɛntrenee.
3 May the mountains bring peace to the people, and the hills bring goodness.
Mmepɔw no de yiyedi bɛbrɛ nnipa no, nkoko no de trenee bɛba.
4 May he defend the poor and save their children, may he crush those who oppress them.
Ɔbɛko ama nnipa no mu amanehunufo na wagye wɔn a wonni bi mma nkwa; ɔbɛdwerɛw nhyɛsofo.
5 May they respect him as long as the sun and the moon shine above, for all generations.
Owia ne ɔsram da so wɔ hɔ yi wobesuro wo awo ntoatoaso nyinaa mu.
6 May his reign be like rain falling on new grass, like showers that water the earth.
Ɔbɛyɛ sɛ osu a ɛtɔ gu asase a wɔadɔw so so, te sɛ obosu a egugu asase so.
7 May those who live right prosper under his rule; may there be great prosperity until the moon is no more.
Atreneefo benyin frɔmfrɔm wɔ ne bere so; yiyedi bebu so akosi da a ɔsram nni hɔ bio.
8 May he rule from sea to sea, from the river to the ends of the earth.
Obedi hene afi po akosi po, afi Asubɔnten Efrata akosi asase ano.
9 Desert tribes will kneel before him; and his enemies will bite the dust.
Sare so mmusua bɛkotow nʼanim na nʼatamfo adi mfutuma.
10 The kings of Tarshish and the islands will bring him tribute; the kings of Sheba and Seba will present him with gifts.
Tarsis ne mpoano ahemfo a wɔwɔ akyirikyiri de sonkahiri bɛbrɛ no; Saba ne Seba ahemfo de ayɛyɛde bɛbrɛ no.
11 Every king will bow down to him; every nation will serve him.
Ahemfo nyinaa bɛkotow no, amanaman nyinaa bɛsom no.
12 He will help the poor when they cry out to him, and help those who are suffering that have no one to support them.
Na obegye mmɔborɔfo a wosu frɛ no, ne amanehunufo a wonni ɔboafo.
13 He has pity on the poor and needy—he saves their lives!
Obehu wɔn a wɔayɛ mmrɛw ne ahiafo mmɔbɔ na wagye ahiafo nkwa.
14 He rescues them from violence and oppression, for their lives mean so much to him.
Obegye wɔn afi nhyɛso ne akakabensɛm ase, efisɛ wɔn mogya som bo wɔ nʼanim.
15 May he live long! May the gold from Sheba be given to him. May people always pray for him and bless him all day long.
Ɔhene nkwa so! ma wɔmfa sikakɔkɔɔ mfi Seba mmrɛ no. Ma nnipa mmɔ mpae mma no na wonhyira no da mu nyinaa.
16 May there be plenty of grain in the land, even growing on mountain-tops. May the fruit on the trees sway like the trees of Lebanon. May the people in the city flourish like grass in a field.
Aburow mmu so wɔ asase no so nyinaa; nnuan mmu so wɔ nkoko so, ma nʼaba mmɔ sɛ Lebanon; na enyin sɛ mfuw so sare.
17 May his fame live forever, may it last as long as the sun. May all nations be blessed through him, and may they praise him.
Ne din bɛtena hɔ daa; ɛntena hɔ nkyɛ sɛ owia. Wɔbɛfa no so ahyira amanaman no, na wɔbɛfrɛ no nhyira.
18 Praise the Lord God, the God of Israel, who is the only one who can do such fantastic things!
Nhyira nka Awurade Nyankopɔn, Israel Nyankopɔn! Ɔno nko ara na ɔyɛ anwonwade.
19 Praise his wonderful nature forever! May the whole world be full of his glory! Amen and amen!
Nhyira nka ne din a anuonyam ahyɛ no ma no daa daa. Ma nʼanuonyam nhyɛ wiase nyinaa ma.
20 (This is the end of the psalms of David, son of Jesse.)
