Psalms 71
1 Lord, you are the one who keeps me safe; please don't disappoint me.
HERR, ich traue auf dich; laß mich nimmermehr zuschanden werden!
2 Save me, rescue me, because you always do what is right.
Errette mich durch deine Gerechtigkeit und hilf mir aus; neige deine Ohren zu mir und hilf mir!
3 Please listen to me, and save me. Be my rock of protection where I can always go and hide. You gave the command to save me; for you are my rock and fortress.
Sei mir ein starker Hort, dahin ich immer fliehen möge, der du zugesagt hast, mir zu helfen; denn du bist mein Fels und meine Burg.
4 My God, rescue me from the power of the wicked, from the clutches of those who are evil and brutal.
Mein Gott, hilf mir aus der Hand des Gottlosen, aus der Hand des Ungerechten und Tyrannen.
5 For you, Lord God, are my hope. You are the one I have trusted since I was young.
Denn du bist meine Zuversicht, HERR HERR, meine Hoffnung von meiner Jugend an.
6 I have depended on you since birth; you have taken care of me from my mother's womb. That's why I'm always praising you!
Auf dich habe ich mich verlassen von Mutterleibe an; du hast mich aus meiner Mutter Leibe gezogen. Mein Ruhm ist immer von dir.
7 My life has been like a miracle to many people, for you have been my powerful protector.
Ich bin vor vielen wie ein Wunder; aber du bist meine starke Zuversicht.
8 All day long I am full of praise for you, telling how wonderful you are!
Laß meinen Mund deines Ruhmes und deines Preises voll sein täglich.
9 Don't reject me now I'm getting old. When my strength is gone, please don't abandon me.
Verwirf mich nicht in meinem Alter; verlaß mich nicht, wenn ich schwach werde.
10 For my enemies are talking about me; those who want to kill me are plotting together.
Denn meine Feinde reden wider mich, und die auf meine Seele halten, beraten sich miteinander
11 They say, “God has given up on him. Let's go after him because there's no one to save him.”
und sprechen: Gott hat ihn verlassen; jaget nach und ergreifet ihn, denn da ist kein Erretter!
12 God, please don't stay away from me. My God, hurry to help me!
Gott, sei nicht ferne von mir; mein Gott, eile mir zu helfen!
13 Defeat my accusers, get rid of them! May those who want to cause me trouble be covered with shame and disgrace!
Schämen müssen sich und umkommen, die meiner Seele wider sind; mit Schande und Hohn müssen sie überschüttet werden, die mein Unglück suchen.
14 As for me, I will go on hoping in you, and I will praise you more and more.
Ich aber will immer harren und will immer deines Ruhmes mehr machen.
15 I will talk about your goodness and your salvation every day, even though it's more than I can understand.
Mein Mund soll verkündigen deine Gerechtigkeit, täglich dein Heil, die ich nicht alle zählen kann.
16 I will come and explain what the Lord has done. I will remind people that you alone do what is right.
Ich gehe einher in der Kraft des HERRN HERRN; ich preise deine Gerechtigkeit allein.
17 God, you have taught me since I was young, and I still tell others about all the wonderful things you do.
Gott, du hast mich von Jugend auf gelehret; darum verkündige ich deine Wunder.
18 Even though I'm old and gray, please don't abandon me, God. Let me tell the new generation about your power. Let me explain to all who are to come the great things you do.
Auch verlaß mich nicht, Gott, im Alter, wenn ich grau werde, bis ich deinen Arm verkündige Kindeskindern und deine Kraft allen, die noch kommen sollen.
19 God, your trustworthy and true nature is higher than the highest heaven! You have done incredible things! God, who is like you?
Gott, deine Gerechtigkeit ist hoch, der du große Dinge tust. Gott, wer ist dir gleich?
20 You had me face many troubles and plenty of misery, but you will bring me back to life; you will rise me up from the depths of the earth.
Denn du lässest mich erfahren viel und große Angst und machst mich wieder lebendig und holest mich wieder aus der Tiefe der Erde herauf.
21 You will give me even greater prestige, and you will make me happy again.
Du machst mich sehr groß und tröstest mich wieder.
22 Then I will praise you on the harp for your trustworthiness, my God. I will sing praises to you on the lyre, Holy One of Israel.
So danke ich auch dir mit Psalterspiel für deine Treue, mein Gott; ich lobsinge dir auf der Harfe, du Heiliger in Israel.
23 I will shout for joy as I sing praises to you, for you have redeemed me.
Meine Lippen und meine Seele, die du erlöset hast, sind fröhlich und lobsingen dir.
24 All day long I will tell about all the good things you have done, for those who tried to cause me misery have been disgraced and humiliated.
Auch dichtet meine Zunge täglich von deiner Gerechtigkeit. Denn schämen müssen sich und zuschanden werden, die mein Unglück suchen.
