< Psalms 7 >

1 A psalm (shiggaion) of David, which he sang to the Lord concerning Cush, from the tribe of Benjamin. Lord my God, you are my protection. Save me from those who persecute me; please rescue me!
Ṣiggaioni ti Dafidi, èyí tí ó kọ sí Olúwa nípa Kuṣi, ará Benjamini. Olúwa Ọlọ́run mi, ààbò mi wà nínú rẹ; gba mí là kí o sì tú mi sílẹ̀ lọ́wọ́ àwọn tó ń lé mi,
2 Otherwise they will tear me apart like a lion, ripping me to pieces with no one to save me.
kí wọn ó má ba à fa ọkàn mi ya gẹ́gẹ́ bí kìnnìún, wọ́n á ya á pẹ́rẹpẹ̀rẹ láìsí ẹni tí yóò gbà mí.
3 If I have done what I'm accused of, if my hands are guilty,
Olúwa Ọlọ́run mi, tí èmi bá ṣe èyí tí ẹ̀bi sì wà ní ọwọ́ mi.
4 If I have paid back a friend with evil, if I have robbed my enemy for no reason,
bí èmi bá ṣe ibi sí ẹni tí ń wá àlàáfíà pẹ̀lú mi, tí mo ja ọ̀tá mi lólè láìnídìí,
5 Then let my enemies chase me down; let them trample me in the dust and drag my reputation through the dirt. (Selah)
nígbà náà, jẹ́ kí ọ̀tá mi lé mi kí wọn sì mú mi; jẹ́ kí òun kí ó tẹ ọkàn mi mọ́lẹ̀ kí wọn sì mú mi sùn nínú eruku. (Sela)
6 Stand up, Lord, in your anger, rise up against the fury of my enemies; wake up, Lord, and bring me justice!
Dìde, Olúwa, nínú ìbínú rẹ; dìde lòdì sí ìrunú àwọn ọ̀tá mi. Jí, Ọlọ́run mi; kéde òdodo.
7 Bring together the nations before you; rule them from your throne on high.
Kí ìpéjọ àwọn ènìyàn yíká. Jọba lórí wọn láti òkè wá.
8 The Lord judges all people. Defend me, Lord, because I do what is right, because of my integrity.
Jẹ́ kí Olúwa ṣe ìdájọ́ àwọn ènìyàn. Ṣe ìdájọ́ mi, Olúwa, gẹ́gẹ́ bí òdodo mi, gẹ́gẹ́ bí ìwà òtítọ́, ẹni gíga jùlọ.
9 Please bring an end to the evil done by the wicked; vindicate those who do good, for you are the God of right who examines hearts and minds.
Ọlọ́run Olódodo, Ẹni tí ó ń wo inú àti ọkàn, tí ó ń mú òpin sí ìwà ipá ẹni búburú tí ó sì ń pa àwọn olódodo mọ́.
10 The Most High God is my defense, the one who saves those who live right.
Ààbò mi ń bẹ lọ́dọ̀ Ọlọ́run, ẹni tí ń ṣe ìgbàlà òtítọ́ ní àyà.
11 God is a fair judge who is always hostile to evil.
Ọlọ́run ni onídàájọ́ òtítọ́, Ọlọ́run tí ń sọ ìrunú rẹ̀ ní gbogbo ọjọ́.
12 If people do not change their minds, he will sharpen his sword. He has bent and strung his bow.
Bí kò bá yípadà, Òun yóò pọ́n idà rẹ̀ mú; ó ti fa ọrun rẹ̀ le ná, ó ti múra rẹ̀ sílẹ̀.
13 He has prepared weapons of death, he has his flaming arrows ready.
Ó ti pèsè ohun ìjà ikú sílẹ̀; ó ti pèsè ọfà iná sílẹ̀.
14 See how the wicked conceive evil! They are pregnant with trouble. They give birth to dishonesty.
Ẹni tí ó lóyún ohun búburú, tí ó sì lóyún wàhálà, ó bí èké jáde.
15 They dig a deep hole to catch people, but then fall into it themselves.
Ẹni tí ó gbẹ́ ọ̀fìn, tí ó kó o jáde jì sí kòtò tí ó gbẹ́ sílẹ̀.
16 The trouble they cause rebounds to hit them on the head; their violence against others comes down on their own skulls.
Wàhálà tí ó fà padà sórí rẹ̀; ìwà ipá rẹ̀ padà sórí ara rẹ̀.
17 I will thank the Lord because he does what is right; I will sing praises to the name of the Lord Most High.
Èmi ó fi ọpẹ́ fún Olúwa nítorí òdodo rẹ̀, èmi ó kọrin ìyìn sí Olúwa Ọ̀gá-ògo jùlọ.
