Psalms 57
1 For the music director. According to “Do Not Destroy.” A psalm (miktam) of David concerning the time he fled from Saul and hid in the cave. Please be kind to me, God! Be kind to me because I come to you for protection. I will shelter under the shadow of your wings until the danger is past.
Salmo “Mictão” para o regente, conforme “Altachete”; de Davi, quando fugia de diante de Saul, na caverna: Tem misericórdia de mim, ó Deus, tem misericórdia de mim; porque minha alma confia em ti, e eu me refugio sob a sombra de tuas asas, até que os [meus] problemas passem de mim.
2 I cry out for help to God Most High, to God who vindicates me.
Clamarei ao Deus Altíssimo; a Deus, que cumprirá [sua obra] em mim.
3 From heaven he sends his help, and he saves me. He defeats those who persecute me. (Selah) God sends me his unfailing love, showing he is completely trustworthy.
Ele enviará desde os céus e me livrará, humilhando ao que procura me demorar. (Selá)Deus enviará sua bondade e sua verdade.
4 I am surrounded by man-eating lions—I am forced to live with them! Their teeth are spears and arrows, and their tongues are swords.
Minha alma está no meio dos leões, estou deitado [entre] brasas ardentes, filhos de homens, cujos dentes são lanças e flechas, e a língua deles são espada afiada.
5 God, your greatness is above the highest heavens; and your glory covers the whole earth!
Exalta-te sobre os céus, ó Deus; [esteja] tua glória sobre toda a terra.
6 They set a trap to catch me. I was so depressed. They dug a pit on my path but they were the ones who fell into it. (Selah)
Prepararam uma rede de armadilha para os meus passos, minha alma [estava] abatida; cavaram perante mim uma cova, [porém] eles mesmos caíram nela. (Selá)
7 I have confidence in you, God, I have confidence in you. I will sing songs of praise to you.
Firme está meu coração, ó Deus; meu coração está firme; eu cantarei, e louvarei com músicas.
8 I say to myself, “Wake up!” Wake up, harp and lyre! I will wake up the dawn!
Desperta-te, ó glória minha! Desperta, lira e harpa; despertarei ao amanhecer.
9 I will thank you among the peoples, Lord; I will sing your praises among the nations.
Eu te louvarei entre os povos, Senhor; cantarei louvores a ti entre as nações.
10 Your faithful love reaches to the heavens; your trustworthiness to the clouds.
Pois tua bondade é grande, [alcança] até os céus; e a tua fidelidade até as nuvens mais altas.
11 God, your greatness is above the highest heavens; and your glory covers the whole earth!
Exalta-te sobre os céus, ó Deus; [esteja] tua glória sobre toda a terra.
