Psalms 54

1 For the music director. With stringed instruments. A psalm (maskil) of David, concerning the time when the Ziphites came to Saul and told him, “David is hiding among us.” God, because of your very nature, please save me! Vindicate me by your power!

Au maître de chant. Avec instruments à cordes. Cantique de David. Lorsque les Ziphéens vinrent dire à Saül: David est caché parmi nous. O Dieu, sauve-moi par ton nom, et rends-moi justice par ta puissance.

2 God, please hear my prayer; listen to what I'm saying.

O Dieu, écoute ma prière, prête l’oreille aux paroles de ma bouche.

3 For strangers are coming to attack me—violent men who don't care about God are trying to kill me. (Selah)

Car des étrangers se sont levés contre moi, des hommes violents en veulent à ma vie; ils ne mettent pas Dieu devant leurs yeux. — Séla.

4 But God helps me; the Lord saves my life!

Voici que Dieu est mon secours, le Seigneur est le soutien de mon âme.

5 The evil my enemies have done will come back upon them. I depend on you to destroy them.

Il fera retomber le mal sur mes adversaires; dans ta vérité, anéantis-les!

6 I will happily offer a sacrifice to you; I will praise the kind of person you are, Lord, for you are good.

De tout cœur je t’offrirai des sacrifices; je louerai ton nom, Yahweh, car il est bon;

7 For he has saved me from all my troubles; and I have seen those who hated me defeated.

il me délivre de toute angoisse, et mes yeux s’arrêtent avec joie sur mes ennemis.
