Psalms 49
1 For the music director. A psalm of the sons of Korah. Listen to this, everyone! Pay attention, people of the world—
Ein Psalm der Kinder Korah, vorzusingen. Höret zu, alle Völker; merket auf, alle, die in dieser Zeit leben,
2 whether you are highborn or lowborn, rich or poor!
beide gemein Mann und HERREN, beide reich und arm miteinander.
3 For what I say is wise, and my thinking is perceptive.
Mein Mund soll von Weisheit reden und mein Herz von Verstand sagen.
4 I pay attention to wise sayings; I answer hard questions to a tune on the harp.
Wir wollen einen guten Spruch hören und ein fein Gedicht auf der Harfe spielen.
5 Why should I be afraid when trouble comes, when evil enemies surround me?
Warum sollt ich mich fürchten in bösen Tagen, wenn mich die Missetat meiner Übertreter umgibt?
6 They trust in their wealth; they boast about their riches,
Die sich verlassen auf ihr Gut und trotzen auf ihren großen Reichtum.
7 but no one can pay to rescue another from death; no one can pay a ransom to God.
Kann doch ein Bruder niemand erlösen noch Gott jemand versöhnen;
8 Redemption is beyond price; no one could ever pay enough
denn es kostet zu viel, ihre Seele zu erlösen, daß er's muß lassen anstehen ewiglich,
9 that they could live forever and not face the grave.
ob er auch gleich lange lebet und die Grube nicht siehet.
10 Everyone knows that the wise die, those who are foolish and stupid too, leaving what they have to the next generation.
Denn man wird sehen, daß solche Weisen doch sterben, sowohl als die Toren und Narren umkommen, und müssen ihr Gut andern lassen.
11 They think their homes will last forever, that where they live will continue for all generations.
Das ist ihr Herz, daß ihre Häuser währen immerdar, ihre Wohnungen bleiben für und für und haben große Ehre auf Erden.
12 But human beings, for all their fame, don't understand. They die, just like the animals.
Dennoch können sie nicht bleiben in solcher Würde, sondern müssen davon wie ein Vieh.
13 This is the way of foolish people, yet those who come after them think they were clever! (Selah)
Dies ihr Tun ist eitel Torheit; noch loben's ihre Nachkommen mit ihrem Munde (Sela)
14 Like sheep they are destined for the grave. Death will be their shepherd. Those who live right will rule over them in the morning. Their bodies will decay in the grave, far from their homes. (Sheol h7585)
Sie liegen in der Hölle wie Schafe, der Tod naget sie; aber die Frommen werden gar bald über sie herrschen, und ihr Trotz muß vergehen, in der Hölle müssen sie bleiben. (Sheol h7585)
15 But surely God will rescue me from the power of the grave; he will grab me back. (Selah) (Sheol h7585)
Aber Gott wird meine Seele erlösen aus der Hölle Gewalt; denn er hat mich angenommen. (Sela) (Sheol h7585)
16 Don't be disturbed when people become rich, filling their houses with possessions.
Laß dich's nicht irren, ob einer reich wird, ob die HERRLIchkeit seines Hauses groß wird.
17 For they won't take anything with them when they die; their wealth will not go down into the grave with them.
Denn er wird nichts in seinem Sterben mitnehmen, und seine HERRLIchkeit wird ihm nicht nachfahren.
18 They congratulate themselves for all they possess—people always praise you when you do well—
sondern er tröstet sich dieses guten Lebens und preiset es, wenn einer nach guten Tagen trachtet.
19 but their destiny is the same as their forefathers: they will never again see the light of day.
So fahren sie ihren Vätern nach und sehen das Licht nimmermehr.
20 Human beings, for all their fame, don't understand, and they die, just like the animals.
