Psalms 48
1 For the music director. A psalm of the sons of Korah. The Lord is supreme! He deserves praise in the city of our God on his holy mountain.
Grande es el Señor y grandemente digno de ser alabado, en la ciudad de nuestro Dios, en su santo monte.
2 Mount Zion is high and beautiful, bringing happiness to all the earth; on the northern side is the city of the great King.
Hermosa provincia, la alegría de toda la tierra, es la montaña de Sión, haya en el extremo norte, la montaña de Dios, la ciudad del gran Rey.
3 God himself is in the city's fortresses; he is recognized as its defender.
En sus palacios, Dios es conocido como una torre fuerte.
4 Look at what happened when foreign kings joined forces and came to attack the city.
Para ver los reyes se unieron por acuerdo, se unieron y avanzaron contra ella.
5 As soon as they saw it they were astonished and ran away terrified.
Ellos vieron la ciudad. y estaban llenos de asombro; se turbaron y huyeron con miedo.
6 They shook all over, and were in agonizing pain like a woman giving birth,
El miedo se adueñó de ellos los sacudió y sufrieron dolor, como en una mujer en el parto.
7 just as the strong east wind wrecks the ships from Tarshish.
Por ti las naves de Tarsis están quebradas como por un viento del este.
8 Just as we had heard, but now we have seen the city of the Lord Almighty. This is the city of our God; he makes it secure forever. (Selah)
Cómo llegó a nuestros oídos, así lo hemos visto, en la ciudad del Señor de los ejércitos, en la ciudad de nuestro Dios; Dios la afirmará para siempre. (Selah)
9 God, we recall your trustworthy love as we worship in the Temple.
Nos acordamos de tu misericordia, oh Dios, mientras estábamos en tu Templo.
10 As is fitting for your reputation, God, praises to you stretch all around the world. What you do is always right!
Como corresponde a tu nombre, oh Dios, así es tu alabanza hasta lo último de la tierra; tu diestra está llena de justicia.
11 Let the people of Mount Zion be glad; let the people of Judah celebrate because your judgments are always fair!
Que haya alegría en el monte de Sion, y que se alegren las hijas de Judá, por tus sabias decisiones.
12 Go and take a look at Zion. Count the towers as you walk around.
Sigue tu camino por Sión, dale la vuelta y enumera sus torres.
13 Inspect the fortifications. Examine the citadels, so you can describe everything to the next generation, telling them:
Tome nota de sus fuertes muros, mirando bien sus palacios; para que le cuentes a la generación que viene después.
14 “This is who our God is. He is our God forever and ever. He himself will lead us until the very end.”
Porque este Dios es nuestro Dios por los siglos de los siglos: él será nuestro guía eternamente.
