Psalms 47

1 For the music director. A psalm of the sons of Korah. Everyone, clap your hands! Shout with joy to the Lord!

Pour le chef musicien. Un psaume par les fils de Korah. Oh, battez des mains, vous toutes les nations. Criez à Dieu avec la voix du triomphe!

2 For the Lord Most High is awe-inspiring; he is the great King of all the earth.

Car le Très-Haut Yahvé est impressionnant. Il est un grand Roi sur toute la terre.

3 He subdues other peoples under us; he puts nations under our feet.

Il soumet les nations sous nos ordres, et les peuples sous nos pieds.

4 He chose the land for us to own; the proud possession of Jacob's descendants whom he loves. (Selah)

Il choisit pour nous notre héritage, la gloire de Jacob qu'il aimait. (Selah)

5 God ascends his throne with a great shout, the Lord is accompanied by the sound of the trumpet.

Dieu s'est levé en criant, Yahvé au son de la trompette.

6 Sing praises to God, sing praises; sing praises to our King, sing praises!

Chantez les louanges de Dieu! Chantez des louanges! Chantez les louanges de notre Roi! Chantez des louanges!

7 For God is King of all the earth; sing praises with a psalm!

Car Dieu est le roi de toute la terre. Chantez des louanges avec compréhension.

8 God rules over the nations; he sits on his holy throne.

Dieu règne sur les nations. Dieu est assis sur son trône sacré.

9 The rulers of the nations gather together with the people of the God of Abraham, for the defenders of the earth belong to God. He is highly honored everywhere.

Les princes des peuples sont rassemblés, le peuple du Dieu d'Abraham. Car les boucliers de la terre appartiennent à Dieu. Il est grandement exalté!
