Psalms 46
1 For the music director by the sons of Korah. According to alamoth, a song. God is our protection and our strength; always ready to help when troubles come.
Dem Vorsänger. Von den Kindern Korahs. Auf Alamoth. Ein Lied. Gott ist unsre Zuversicht und Stärke; eine Hilfe, in Nöten kräftig erfunden.
2 So we will not be afraid though the earth shakes, though the mountains fall into the depths of the sea,
Darum fürchten wir uns nicht, wenn auch die Erde weicht und die Berge mitten ins Meer sinken,
3 though the waters roar and foam, though the mountains tremble as the waters surge violently! (Selah)
wenn gleich seine Wasser wüten und toben und vor seinem Übermut die Berge zittern. (Pause)
4 A river flows to bring happiness to those in God's city, the holy place where the Most High lives.
Ein Strom mit seinen Bächen erfreut die Stadt Gottes, die heiligen Wohnungen des Höchsten.
5 God is in the midst of the city; it will never fall. God protects it as soon as it is light.
Gott ist in ihrer Mitte, sie wird nicht wanken; Gott wird ihr helfen, wenn der Morgen anbricht.
6 Nations are in turmoil, kingdoms collapse. God raises his voice and the earth melts.
Die Völker tobten, die Königreiche wankten, als er seine Stimme hören ließ; und die Erde verging.
7 The Lord Almighty is with us; the God of Jacob protects us. (Selah)
Mit uns aber ist der HERR der Heerscharen; der Gott Jakobs ist für uns eine feste Burg! (Pause)
8 Come and see what the Lord has achieved! See the amazing things he has done on the earth!
Kommt her, schauet die Werke des HERRN, der auf Erden Verheerungen angerichtet hat,
9 He stops wars all over the world. He smashes the bow; he breaks the spear; he sets shields on fire.
der den Kriegen ein Ende macht, der den Bogen zerbricht, den Speer zerschlägt und die Wagen mit Feuer verbrennt!
10 Stop fighting! Recognize I am God! I am the ruler of the nations; I am the ruler of the earth.
Seid stille und erkennet, daß ich Gott bin; ich will erhaben sein unter den Völkern, ich will erhaben sein auf Erden.
11 The Lord Almighty is with us; the God of Jacob protects us. (Selah)
Der HERR der Heerscharen ist mit uns, der Gott Jakobs ist unsre feste Burg! (Pause)
