< Psalms 31 >
1 A psalm of David. For the music director. Lord, you are the one who keeps me safe; please don't let me ever be humiliated. Save me, because you always do what is right.
Fún adarí orin. Saamu ti Dafidi. Nínú rẹ̀, Olúwa ni mo ti rí ààbò; má ṣe jẹ́ kí ojú kí ó tì mí; gbà mí nínú òdodo rẹ.
2 Please listen to me, and be quick to rescue me. Be my rock of protection, my strong fortress of safety.
Tẹ́ etí rẹ sí mi, gbà mí kíákíá; jẹ́ àpáta ààbò mi, jẹ́ odi alágbára láti gbà mí.
3 You are my rock and my fortress. For the sake of your reputation, please lead me and guide me.
Ìwọ pàápàá ni àpáta àti ààbò mi, nítorí orúkọ rẹ, máa ṣe olùtọ́ mi, kí o sì ṣe amọ̀nà mi.
4 Help me escape from the hidden net that they set to trap me, for you are the one who protects me.
Yọ mí jáde kúrò nínú àwọ̀n tí wọ́n dẹ pamọ́ fún mi, nítorí ìwọ ni ìsádi mi.
5 I put myself in your hands. Save me, Lord, for you are a trustworthy God.
Ní ọwọ́ rẹ ni mo fi ẹ̀mí mi lé; ìwọ ni o ti rà mí padà, Olúwa, Ọlọ́run òtítọ́.
6 I hate those who devote themselves to pointless idols; I trust in the Lord.
Èmi ti kórìíra àwọn ẹni tí ń fiyèsí òrìṣà tí kò níye lórí; ṣùgbọ́n èmi gbẹ́kẹ̀lé Olúwa.
7 I will celebrate, happy in your love that never fails, for you have seen the problems I face and have paid attention to my troubles.
Èmi yóò yọ̀, inú mi yóò dùn nínú ìfẹ́ ńlá rẹ, nítorí ìwọ ti rí ìbìnújẹ́ mi ìwọ ti mọ̀ ọkàn mi nínú ìpọ́njú.
8 You haven't handed me over to my enemies; you have set me free.
Pẹ̀lú, ìwọ kò sì fà mi lé àwọn ọ̀tá lọ́wọ́ ìwọ ti fi ẹsẹ̀ mi lé ibi ààyè ńlá.
9 Be kind to me Lord, for I am upset. I can hardly see from so much crying. I am completely wasting away.
Ṣàánú fún mi, ìwọ Olúwa, nítorí mo wà nínú ìpọ́njú; ojú mi fi ìbìnújẹ́ sùn, ọkàn àti ara mi pẹ̀lú.
10 Grief is killing me; my life is cut short by sadness; I am falling apart because of my troubles; I am worn to the bone.
Èmi fi ìbànújẹ́ lo ọjọ́ mi àti àwọn ọdún mi pẹ̀lú ìmí ẹ̀dùn; agbára mi ti kùnà nítorí òsì mi, egungun mi sì ti rún dànù.
11 I am ridiculed by my enemies, particularly by my neighbors. My friends dread meeting me; people who see me in the street run the other way.
Èmi di ẹni ẹ̀gàn láàrín àwọn ọ̀tá mi gbogbo, pẹ̀lúpẹ̀lú láàrín àwọn aládùúgbò mi, mo sì di ẹ̀rù fún àwọn ojúlùmọ̀ mi; àwọn tí ó rí mi ní òde ń yẹra fún mi.
12 I have been forgotten as if I were dead; I'm ignored like a broken pot.
Èmi ti di ẹni ìgbàgbé kúrò ní ọkàn gẹ́gẹ́ bí ẹni tí ó ti kú; èmi sì dàbí ohun èlò tí ó ti fọ́.
13 I hear many people whispering about me; terror surrounds me. They plot together against me, planning to kill me.
Nítorí mo gbọ́ ọ̀rọ̀ ẹ̀gàn ọ̀pọ̀lọpọ̀ ìpayà tí ó yí mi ká; tí wọn gbìmọ̀ pọ̀ sí mi, wọ́n sì ṣọ̀tẹ̀ sí mi láti gba ẹ̀mí mi.
14 But I put my trust in you, Lord, saying, “You are my God!”
Ṣùgbọ́n èmí gbẹ́kẹ̀lé ọ, ìwọ Olúwa; mo sọ wí pé, “Ìwọ ní Ọlọ́run mi.”
15 My whole life is in your hands! Save me from those who hate me and persecute me!
Ìgbà mi ń bẹ ní ọwọ́ rẹ; gbà mí kúrò ní ọwọ́ àwọn ọ̀tá mi àti àwọn onínúnibíni.
16 May you look kindly on me, your servant. Save me because of your trustworthy love.
Jẹ́ kí ojú rẹ kí ó tan ìmọ́lẹ̀ sí ìránṣẹ́ rẹ lára; gbà mí nínú ìfẹ́ rẹ tí ó dúró ṣinṣin.
17 Lord, don't let me be disgraced, for I'm calling out to you. Instead let the wicked be disgraced, let them be silent in the grave. (Sheol )
Má ṣe jẹ́ kí ojú ki ó tì mí, Olúwa; nítorí pé mo ké pè ọ́; jẹ́ kí ojú kí ó ti ènìyàn búburú; jẹ́ kí wọ́n lọ pẹ̀lú ìdààmú sí isà òkú. (Sheol )
18 Shut the mouths of those who tell lies against good people—those who speak contemptuously in their pride and arrogance!
Jẹ́ kí àwọn ètè irọ́ kí ó dákẹ́ jẹ́ẹ́, pẹ̀lú ìgbéraga àti ìkẹ́gàn, wọ́n sọ̀rọ̀ àfojúdi sí olódodo.
19 How wonderful is the goodness you have reserved for those who honor you! In front of everyone you give this goodness to those who come to you for help.
Báwo ni títóbi oore rẹ̀ ti pọ̀ tó, èyí tí ìwọ ti ní ní ìpamọ́ fún àwọn tí ó bẹ̀rù rẹ, èyí tí ìwọ rọ̀jò rẹ̀ níwájú àwọn ènìyàn tí wọ́n fi ọ́ ṣe ibi ìsádi wọn.
20 You shelter and protect them with your presence, far from their enemies who scheme against them. You keep them safe from attacks and accusations.
Ní abẹ́ ìbòòji iwájú rẹ ni ìwọ pa wọ́n mọ́ sí kúrò nínú ìdìmọ̀lù àwọn ènìyàn; ní ibùgbé rẹ, o mú wọn kúrò nínú ewu kúrò nínú ìjà ahọ́n.
21 Bless the Lord, for he has shown me his wonderful trustworthy love when my city was being attacked
Olùbùkún ni Olúwa, nítorí pé ó ti fi àgbà ìyanu ìfẹ́ tí ó ní sí mi hàn, nígbà tí mo wà ní ìlú tí wọ́n rọ̀gbà yíká.
22 Terrified I cried out, “I am being destroyed right in front of you!” But you heard my cry when I called out for you to help me.
Èmí ti sọ nínú ìdágìrì mi, “A gé mi kúrò ní ojú rẹ!” Síbẹ̀ ìwọ ti gbọ́ ẹ̀bẹ̀ mi fún àánú nígbà tí mo ké pè ọ́ fún ìrànlọ́wọ́.
23 Love the Lord, all you who trust in him! The Lord takes care of those who trust him, but he pays back in full those who are arrogant.
Ẹ fẹ́ Olúwa, gbogbo ẹ̀yin ènìyàn rẹ̀ mímọ́! Olúwa pa olódodo mọ́, ó sì san án padà fún agbéraga ní ẹ̀kúnrẹ́rẹ́.
24 Be strong and be confident, all you who put your hope in the Lord.
Jẹ́ alágbára, yóò sì mú yín ní àyà le gbogbo ẹ̀yin tí ó dúró de Olúwa.
