Psalms 30
1 A psalm of David. A psalm for the dedication of the Temple. I want to tell everyone how good you are, Lord, for you saved me, and you didn't let my enemies triumph over me.
Psaume, [qui fut] un Cantique de la dédicace de la maison de David. Eternel, je t'exalterai, parce que tu m'as délivré et que tu n'as pas réjoui mes ennemis [de ma défaite].
2 Lord, my God, I called out to you for help, and you have healed me.
Eternel mon Dieu, j'ai crié vers toi, et tu m'as guéri.
3 Lord, you rescued me from the grave, you brought me back to life, saving me from going down into the pit of death. (Sheol h7585)
Eternel, tu as fait remonter mon âme du sépulcre; tu m'as rendu la vie, afin que je ne descendisse point en la fosse. (Sheol h7585)
4 You who trust the Lord, sing praises to him, and be thankful for his holy character!
Psalmodiez à l'Eternel, vous ses bien-aimés, et célébrez la mémoire de sa Sainteté.
5 For his anger only lasts a moment, but his favor lasts a lifetime. You may spend the night in tears, but happiness comes with the morning.
Car il n'y a qu'un moment en sa colère, [mais il y a toute] une vie en sa faveur; la lamentation loge-t-elle le soir chez nous? le chant de triomphe y est le matin.
6 When things were going well, I said, “Nothing will ever shake me!”
Quand j'étais en ma prospérité, je disais: je ne serai jamais ébranlé.
7 Lord, when you showed me your favor I stood as strong as a mountain; when you turned away from me I was terrified.
Eternel, par ta faveur tu avais fait que la force se tenait en ma montagne; as-tu caché ta face? J'ai été tout effrayé.
8 I called out to you for help, Lord. I asked the Lord for grace, saying,
Eternel, j'ai crié à toi, et j'ai présenté ma supplication à l'Eternel, [en disant]:
9 What would you gain if I die, if I go down into the pit of death? Would my dust praise you? Would it tell of your trustworthiness?
Quel profit y aura-t-il en mon sang, si je descends dans la fosse? la poudre te célébrera-t-elle? prêchera-t-elle ta vérité?
10 Please listen to me, Lord, and be gracious to me! Lord, you are the one who helps me.
Eternel, écoute, et aie pitié de moi; Eternel, sois-moi en aide.
11 You have turned my weeping into dancing. You have taken off my clothes of sackcloth and dressed me in happiness,
Tu as changé mon deuil en allégresse; tu as détaché mon sac, et tu m'as ceint de joie.
12 so I can sing praises to you and not keep quiet. Lord my God, I will thank you forever!
Afin que ma langue te psalmodie, et ne se taise point. Eternel, mon Dieu! je te célébrerai à toujours.
