Psalms 19
1 For the music director. A psalm of David. The heavens declare God's glory; the skies above announce what he has made.
Dem Vorsänger. Ein Psalm von David. Die Himmel erzählen die Herrlichkeit Gottes, und die Ausdehnung verkündet seiner Hände Werk.
2 Each day speaks constantly about God's glory to the next day; each night shares knowledge of God with the next night.
Ein Tag berichtet es dem anderen, und eine Nacht meldet der anderen die Kunde davon.
3 They speak without speech or words; their voice is not audible;
Keine Rede und keine Worte, doch gehört wird ihre Stimme.
4 Yet what they say is heard all over the earth; their message goes to the whole world. God has made a home in the heavens for the sun.
Ihre Meßschnur geht aus über die ganze Erde, und bis an das Ende des Erdkreises ihre Sprache; er hat der Sonne in ihnen ein Zelt gesetzt.
5 It's like a bridegroom coming out of his room, like a fit athlete happy to run a race.
Und sie ist wie ein Bräutigam, der hervortritt aus seinem Gemach; sie freut sich wie ein Held, zu durchlaufen die Bahn.
6 It rises on one side of the heavens and travels across to the other. Nothing is hidden from its heat.
Vom Ende der Himmel ist ihr Ausgang, und ihr Umlauf bis zu ihren Enden; und nichts ist vor ihrer Glut verborgen.
7 The Lord's law is beneficial, renewing spiritual life. The Lord's teaching is trustworthy, making inexperienced people wise.
Das Gesetz Jehovas ist vollkommen, erquickend die Seele; das Zeugnis Jehovas ist zuverlässig, macht weise den Einfältigen.
8 The Lord's instructions are right, making people glad. The Lord's commandments are sincere, helping people see what is good.
Die Vorschriften Jehovas sind richtig, erfreuend das Herz; das Gebot Jehovas ist lauter, erleuchtend die Augen.
9 Reverence for the Lord is right, and lasts forever. The Lord's judgments are both true and fair.
Die Furcht Jehovas ist rein, bestehend in Ewigkeit. Die Rechte Jehovas sind Wahrheit, sie sind gerecht allesamt;
10 They are more to be valued than gold, even the finest gold; they are sweeter than honey, even the purest honey coming straight from the honeycomb.
sie, die köstlicher sind als Gold und viel gediegenes Gold, und süßer als Honig und Honigseim.
11 They also warn your servant. By keeping them I'm richly rewarded.
Auch wird dein Knecht durch sie belehrt; im Beobachten derselben ist großer Lohn.
12 Who's aware of their own mistakes? Don't punish me for these faults I'm unaware of.
Verirrungen, wer sieht sie ein? Von verborgenen Sünden reinige mich!
13 Don't let your servant commit deliberate sins. Don't let them rule over me. Then I will be without fault, innocent of such rebellion.
Auch von übermütigen halte deinen Knecht zurück; laß sie mich nicht beherrschen! Dann bin ich tadellos und bin rein von großer Übertretung.
14 May you be pleased with the words I speak, and the thoughts I think, Lord my rock and my redeemer.
Laß die Reden meines Mundes und das Sinnen meines Herzens wohlgefällig vor dir sein, Jehova, mein Fels und mein Erlöser!
