< Psalms 17 >

1 A prayer of David. Lord, please hear my cry for justice! Please pay attention to my call for help! Listen to the prayer of an honest man!
Dawid Mpaebɔ. Awurade, tie me trenee abisade; tie me sufrɛ. Yɛ aso ma me mpaebɔ; nea emfi nnaadaa anofafa mu.
2 Vindicate me before you—for you see what is right.
Ma me bembu mfi wo; ma wʼani nhu nea ɛyɛ pɛ.
3 You have observed my thoughts, you have visited me at night, you have examined me—and you have found nothing wrong. I promised myself I wouldn't say anything I shouldn't.
Wopɛɛpɛɛ me koma mu, wohwehwɛ me mu anadwo, na wosɔ me hwɛ de, nanso wubehu sɛ minsusuw bɔne bi ɛ; mʼano nkaa bɔne bi ɛ.
4 With regard to the actions of others: I have done what you told me and I have avoided what violent people do.
Nnipa nneyɛe fam no, anom asɛm nti matwe me ho afi basabasayɛfo akwan ho.
5 I have not strayed from your path; my feet have not slipped from it.
Menam wʼakwan so daa; me nan nhintiw ɛ.
6 God, I call out to you because I know you will answer; please listen carefully to what I have to say.
Misu mefrɛ wo, Onyankopɔn na wubegye me so; yɛ aso ma me na tie me mpaebɔ.
7 Show me how wonderful your trustworthy love really is, Savior of those who come to you for protection against their enemies!
Da wo dɔ nwonwaso no adi; wo a wode wo nsa nifa gye wɔn a wɔde wɔn ho to wo so no nkwa fi wɔn atamfo nsam no.
8 Keep me safe as someone you love; hide me underneath your wings.
Hwɛ me so sɛ obi a wodɔ no; fa me sie wo ntaban nwini no ase,
9 Protect me from the attacks of the wicked who want to destroy me, from my enemies who surround me, intent on killing me.
fi amumɔyɛfo a wɔretaataa me no nsam, mʼatamfo a wɔatwa me ho ahyia no.
10 They have no compassion, and all they have to say is pure arrogance.
Wopirim wɔn koma, na wɔkasa ahantan so.
11 They hunt me down and surround me, looking for the chance to knock me down in the dust.
Wɔadi me ntɛntɛ, afei wɔatwa me ho ahyia; wɔn ani abere sɛ wɔbɛbɔ me ahwe fam.
12 They are like lions, longing to tear their prey apart; like fierce lions crouching in ambush.
Wɔte sɛ gyata a hanam ho kɔm de no, te sɛ gyata kɛse bi a wabutuw wɔ ahintawee.
13 Lord, stand up and confront them! Force them to back down! By your sword rescue me from the wicked!
Sɔre, Awurade! Wone wɔn mfa mmɔ ani na ka wɔn hyɛ; fa wʼafoa no gye me fi amumɔyɛfo no nsam.
14 Lord, by your power, save me from people whose only thought is for this world. May they be filled with what you have in store for them, their children too, with left-overs for their grandchildren!
Awurade, fa wo nsa gye me fi nnipa a wɔte sɛɛ nsam; asase so nnipa a wɔn akatua wɔ nkwa yi mu no. Womma ɔkɔm nne wɔn a wʼani ku wɔn ho; wɔn mmabarima wɔ bebree, na wɔkora agyapade ma wɔn mma.
15 As for me, I shall see your face in all its goodness. When I awake, I will be so pleased to see you face to face.
Na me trenee mu, mehu wʼanim; sɛ minyan na mihu wo a me koma bɛtɔ me yam.
