Psalms 148

1 Praise the Lord! Praise the Lord from heaven; praise him in the heights above!

主をほめたたえよ。もろもろの天から主をほめたたえよ。もろもろの高き所で主をほめたたえよ。

2 Praise him, all his angels; praise him, all his heavenly armies!

その天使よ、みな主をほめたたえよ。その万軍よ、みな主をほめたたえよ。

3 Praise him, sun and moon! Praise him, all you shining stars!

日よ、月よ、主をほめたたえよ。輝く星よ、みな主をほめたたえよ。

4 Praise him, highest heavens, and the waters above the heavens!

いと高き天よ、天の上にある水よ、主をほめたたえよ。

5 Let them all praise the Lord and his nature, for he gave the order and they were created.

これらのものに主のみ名をほめたたえさせよ、これらは主が命じられると造られたからである。

6 He placed them in their positions forever and ever; he established a law that will never end.

主はこれらをとこしえに堅く定め、越えることのできないその境を定められた。

7 Praise the Lord from the earth, and creatures from all the depths of the seas,

海の獣よ、すべての淵よ、地から主をほめたたえよ。

8 lightning and hail, snow and clouds, and stormy wind—everything that does as he commands.

火よ、あられよ、雪よ、霜よ、み言葉を行うあらしよ、

9 Mountains and all the hills, fruit trees and all the trees of the forest,

もろもろの山、すべての丘、実を結ぶ木、すべての香柏よ、

10 wild animals and all livestock, crawling animals and wild birds,

野の獣、すべての家畜、這うもの、翼ある鳥よ、

11 earthly kings and all peoples, leaders and rulers of the world,

地の王たち、すべての民、君たち、地のすべてのつかさよ、

12 young men and women, old people and children—

若い男子、若い女子、老いた人と幼い者よ、

13 Let them all praise the Lord, for his reputation is unequalled; his glory is above anything on earth or in heaven.

彼らをして主のみ名をほめたたえさせよ。そのみ名は高く、たぐいなく、その栄光は地と天の上にあるからである。

14 He has given his people a source of strength, bringing praise to his faithful followers, the people of Israel who are dear to him. Praise the Lord!

主はその民のために一つの角をあげられた。これはすべての聖徒のほめたたえるもの、主に近いイスラエルの人々のほめたたえるものである。主をほめたたえよ。
