< Psalms 125 >

1 A song for pilgrims going up to Jerusalem. Those who trust in the Lord are like Mount Zion, for it is unshakeable and endures forever.
Þeir sem treysta Drottni eru eins og Síonfjall, þeir haggast ekki.
2 In the same way that the mountains surround Jerusalem, the Lord surrounds his people, now and forever.
Fjöllin umhverfis Jerúsalem eru henni til verndar, eins er Drottinn, hann umlykur og verndar sitt fólk.
3 The wicked will not always rule over the land of the faithful, otherwise the faithful might also end up doing wrong.
Ekki skulu óguðlegir drottna yfir trúuðum, né réttlátir þvingaðir til illverka.
4 Lord, please do good to those who do good, those who sincerely do what is right.
Ó, Drottinn, gerðu vel við þá sem góðir eru, þá sem leitast við að gera vilja þinn,
5 But as for those who turn aside to follow their own crooked ways—those the Lord will lead them away together with those who do evil. May Israel be at peace!
en útrýmdu illgjörðamönnum. Láttu frið og velgengni ríkja í Ísrael.
