Psalms 115
1 Not to us, Lord, not to us, but to you all glory should be given, because of your trustworthy love and faithfulness.
Nicht uns, nicht uns, nein, Deinem Namen gib die Ehre, Herr, und Deiner Huld und Deiner Treue!
2 Why should the heathen nations ask, “Where is your God?”
Was sollten schon die Heiden sagen: "Wo ist ihr Gott?"
3 Our God is in heaven, and he does whatever he wants.
Im Himmel ist er, unser Gott, der alles, was er will, vollbringt. -
4 Their idols are just things of silver and gold made by human hands.
Doch ihre Götzen sind von Gold und Silber, ein Werk von Menschenhänden.
5 They have mouths, but can't speak. They have eyes, but can't see.
Sie haben einen Mund und reden nicht; Sie haben Augen, doch sie sehen nicht.
6 They have ears, but can't hear. They have noses, but can't smell.
Nicht hören sie mit ihren Ohren; nicht riechen sie mit ihrer Nase.
7 They have hands, but can't feel. They have feet, but can't walk. No sound comes from their throats.
Nicht tasten sie mit ihren Händen; nicht gehen sie mit ihren Füßen; sie bringen keinen Laut aus ihrer Kehle.
8 Those who make idols become just like them, and so does everyone who trusts in them.
Wie sie, so werden ihre Schöpfer und alle, die auf sie vertrauen. -
9 Israel, trust in the Lord! He is the one who helps you and protects you.
Hat aber Israel fest auf den Herrn gebaut, dann ist er ihm ein Schutz und Schild.
10 Descendants of Aaron, trust in the Lord! He is the one who helps you and protects you.
Baut Aarons Haus fest auf den Herrn, dann ist er ihnen Schutz und Schild.
11 Those who honor the Lord, trust in the Lord! He is the one who helps you and protects you.
Und bauen, die den Herren fürchten, auf den Herrn, dann ist er ihnen Schutz und Schild.
12 The Lord keeps us in mind and will be good to us. He will bless Israel, he will bless the descendants of Aaron.
So segne unsern Fortbestand der Herr! Er segne das Haus Israel! Er segne Aarons Haus!
13 The Lord will bless all those who worship him, whoever they are.
Er segne, die den Herren fürchten, die Kleinen mit den Großen!
14 May the Lord be good to you, you and your children.
Der Herr vermehre euch, euch selbst und eure Kinder!
15 May you be blessed by the Lord who made heaven and earth.
So seid gesegnet von dem Herrn, dem Schöpfer Himmels und der Erde! -
16 The heavens belong to the Lord, but he has given the earth to humankind.
Der Himmel ist ein Himmel für den Herrn; die Erde nur gibt er den Menschenkindern.
17 The dead do not praise the Lord, those who have gone down into the silence of the grave.
Die Toten loben nicht den Herrn, nicht die ins stille Reich Gesunkenen.
18 But we the living will always praise the Lord. Praise the Lord!
Dagegen wollen wir den Herrn lobpreisen von nun an bis in Ewigkeit. Alleluja!
