Psalms 107
1 Thank the Lord, for he is good! His trustworthy love continues forever!
Bersyukurlah kepada TUHAN, sebab Ia baik! Bahwasanya untuk selama-lamanya kasih setia-Nya.
2 Let those the Lord has saved say that they are saved; those he has rescued from the power of the enemy.
Biarlah itu dikatakan orang-orang yang ditebus TUHAN, yang ditebus-Nya dari kuasa yang menyesakkan,
3 He has gathered them together from distant lands, from the east and the west, the north and the south.
yang dikumpulkan-Nya dari negeri-negeri, dari timur dan dari barat, dari utara dan dari selatan.
4 They wandered in the desert wilderness, unable to find a way to a city where they could live.
Ada orang-orang yang mengembara di padang belantara, jalan ke kota tempat kediaman orang tidak mereka temukan;
5 Hungry and thirsty, they became very discouraged.
mereka lapar dan haus, jiwa mereka lemah lesu di dalam diri mereka.
6 Then they cried out to the Lord to help them in their troubles, and he saved them from their suffering.
Maka berseru-serulah mereka kepada TUHAN dalam kesesakan mereka, dan dilepaskan-Nya mereka dari kecemasan mereka.
7 He led them along a straight way to a city where they could live.
Dibawa-Nya mereka menempuh jalan yang lurus, sehingga sampai ke kota tempat kediaman orang.
8 Let them praise the Lord for his trustworthy love, and for all the wonderful things he does for people.
Biarlah mereka bersyukur kepada TUHAN karena kasih setia-Nya, karena perbuatan-perbuatan-Nya yang ajaib terhadap anak-anak manusia,
9 For he gives drink to those who are thirsty, and food to those who are hungry.
sebab dipuaskan-Nya jiwa yang dahaga, dan jiwa yang lapar dikenyangkan-Nya dengan kebaikan.
10 Some sat in complete darkness, prisoners of misery and bound with iron chains,
Ada orang-orang yang duduk di dalam gelap dan kelam, terkurung dalam sengsara dan besi.
11 for they had rebelled against what God had said; they had rejected the guidance of the Most High.
Karena mereka memberontak terhadap perintah-perintah Allah, dan menista nasihat Yang Mahatinggi,
12 So he humbled their pride with the troubles of life; they tripped over and no one was there to stop them falling.
maka ditundukkan-Nya hati mereka ke dalam kesusahan, mereka tergelincir, dan tidak ada yang menolong.
13 Then they called out to the Lord for help in their troubles, and he saved them from their suffering.
Maka berseru-serulah mereka kepada TUHAN dalam kesesakan mereka, dan diselamatkan-Nyalah mereka dari kecemasan mereka,
14 He brought them out of complete darkness, he broke their chains to pieces.
dibawa-Nya mereka keluar dari dalam gelap dan kelam, dan diputuskan-Nya belenggu-belenggu mereka.
15 Let them praise the Lord for his trustworthy love, and for all the wonderful things he does for people.
Biarlah mereka bersyukur kepada TUHAN karena kasih setia-Nya, karena perbuatan-perbuatan-Nya yang ajaib terhadap anak-anak manusia,
16 For he breaks down the bronze doors, and cuts through the iron bars.
sebab dipecahkan-Nya pintu-pintu tembaga, dan dihancurkan-Nya palang-palang pintu besi.
17 They were stupid because they rebelled; they suffered for their sins.
Ada orang-orang menjadi sakit oleh sebab kelakuan mereka yang berdosa, dan disiksa oleh sebab kesalahan-kesalahan mereka;
18 They didn't want to eat; they were at death's door.
mereka muak terhadap segala makanan dan mereka sudah sampai pada pintu gerbang maut.
19 Then they called out to the Lord for help in their troubles, and he saved them from their suffering.
Maka berseru-serulah mereka kepada TUHAN dalam kesesakan mereka, dan diselamatkan-Nya mereka dari kecemasan mereka,
20 He gave the command and he healed them; he saved them from the grave.
disampaikan-Nya firman-Nya dan disembuhkan-Nya mereka, diluputkan-Nya mereka dari liang kubur.
21 Let them praise the Lord for his trustworthy love, and for all the wonderful things he does for people.
Biarlah mereka bersyukur kepada TUHAN karena kasih setia-Nya, karena perbuatan-perbuatan-Nya yang ajaib terhadap anak-anak manusia.
22 Let them present thank offerings and sing with joy about what he has done.
Biarlah mereka mempersembahkan korban syukur, dan menceritakan pekerjaan-pekerjaan-Nya dengan sorak-sorai!
23 Those who set sail in ships, crossing the seas to earn their living,
Ada orang-orang yang mengarungi laut dengan kapal-kapal, yang melakukan perdagangan di lautan luas;
24 they have seen the Lord's incredible power at work—the wonderful things he did in the deepest oceans.
mereka melihat pekerjaan-pekerjaan TUHAN, dan perbuatan-perbuatan-Nya yang ajaib di tempat yang dalam.
25 He only had to speak to cause a stormy wind that stirred up towering waves,
Ia berfirman, maka dibangkitkan-Nya angin badai yang meninggikan gelombang-gelombangnya.
26 lifting the ships high in the air and then plunging them down. The sailors were so terrified that their courage melted away.
Mereka naik sampai ke langit dan turun ke samudera raya, jiwa mereka hancur karena celaka;
27 They staggered around, falling from side to side like drunks—all their seamanship skills were useless.
mereka pusing dan terhuyung-huyung seperti orang mabuk, dan kehilangan akal.
28 Then they cried out to the Lord to help them in their troubles, and he saved them from their suffering.
Maka berseru-serulah mereka kepada TUHAN dalam kesesakan mereka, dan dikeluarkan-Nya mereka dari kecemasan mereka,
29 He calmed the storm, the waves were quiet.
dibuat-Nyalah badai itu diam, sehingga gelombang-gelombangnya tenang.
30 The sailors were so happy when it all calmed down, and he brought them to the harbor they wanted.
Mereka bersukacita, sebab semuanya reda, dan dituntun-Nya mereka ke pelabuhan kesukaan mereka.
31 Let them praise the Lord for his trustworthy love, and for all the wonderful things he does for people.
Biarlah mereka bersyukur kepada TUHAN karena kasih setia-Nya, karena perbuatan-perbuatan-Nya yang ajaib terhadap anak-anak manusia.
32 Let them say how wonderful he is in front of the whole congregation and the elders.
Biarlah mereka meninggikan Dia dalam jemaat umat itu, dan memuji-muji Dia dalam majelis para tua-tua.
33 He dries up rivers and turns the land into a desert; the water springs stop flowing and the earth turns dry and dusty.
Dibuat-Nya sungai-sungai menjadi padang gurun, dan pancaran-pancaran air menjadi tanah gersang,
34 Fruitful ground becomes a salty wasteland because of the wickedness of those living there.
tanah yang subur menjadi padang asin, oleh sebab kejahatan orang-orang yang diam di dalamnya.
35 But he also turns around and makes pools of water in the desert, and makes water springs flow in a dry and dusty land.
Dibuat-Nya padang gurun menjadi kolam air, dan tanah kering menjadi pancaran-pancaran air.
36 He brings hungry people to live there—a place they can build their cities.
Ditempatkan-Nya di sana orang-orang lapar, dan mereka mendirikan kota tempat kediaman;
37 They sow their fields and plant their vineyards, producing a good harvest.
mereka menabur di ladang-ladang dan membuat kebun-kebun anggur, yang mengeluarkan buah-buahan sebagai hasil.
38 He takes care of them, and their numbers increase dramatically—their cattle too!
Diberkati-Nya mereka sehingga mereka bertambah banyak dengan sangat, dan hewan-hewan mereka tidak dibuat-Nya berkurang.
39 When they become few, brought low by oppression, misery, and sorrow,
Tetapi mereka menjadi berkurang dan membungkuk oleh sebab tekanan celaka dan duka.
40 He pours out his contempt on their leaders, making them wander, lost in the wilderness.
Ditumpahkan-Nya kehinaan ke atas orang-orang terkemuka, dan dibuat-Nya mereka mengembara di padang tandus yang tiada jalan;
41 But he lifts the poor out of their troubles, and makes their families as big as flocks.
tetapi orang miskin dibentengi-Nya terhadap penindasan, dan dibuat-Nya kaum-kaum mereka seperti kawanan domba banyaknya.
42 Those who live right will observe what is happening and be glad, but the wicked will be silenced.
Orang-orang benar melihatnya, lalu bersukacita, tetapi segala kecurangan tutup mulut.
43 Those who are wise will pay attention to all this, and thoughtfully reflect on the Lord's trustworthy love.
Siapa yang mempunyai hikmat? Biarlah ia berpegang pada semuanya ini, dan memperhatikan segala kemurahan TUHAN.
