< Psalms 10 >

1 Lord, why are you so distant? Why do you hide from me in times of trouble?
Aw Angraeng, tipongah kangthla ah nang doet ving loe? Tikhoe raihaih ka tongh naah nang hawk ving loe?
2 The wicked chase down the poor with impunity. May they be trapped by the evil schemes they themselves invented.
Kasae kami loe amoek moe, amtang kaminawk to pacaekthlaek; angmacae poeksethaih mah angmacae to naeh nasoe.
3 For the wicked boast about what they want to do. They praise the greedy, but treat the Lord with contempt.
Kasae kami loe a palung thungah koeh ih baktiah amoek; anih loe kamtlai koeh hmoek kami to thapaek moe, Angraeng to kasae thuih.
4 The wicked are too proud to come to God. In all their thinking they never consider God.
Kasae kami loe, amoek loiah Sithaw to pakrong ai: a poekhaihnawk boih ah Sithaw han ahmuen om ai.
5 What they do always seems to go well. They're unaware of God's judgments. They ridicule all their enemies.
Anih ih loklamnawk loe palungsethaih ah oh; nihcae lokcaekhaih loe Sithaw mah paek ih lok hoiah angthla moe, a misanawk to tiah doeh sah ai.
6 They tell themselves, “Nothing bad is going to happen to me. I'll never be in trouble!”
Anih mah, Kai loe raihaih ka tong mak ai; natuek naah doeh kam tang mak ai, tiah a poek.
7 Their speech is full of cursing, lies, and threats; their tongues are always ready to spread trouble and cause evil.
Anih ih pakha loe kasaethuihaih, amsawnlok thuihaih, alinghaih hoiah koi, anih palai ah loe raihaih hoi sethaih khue ni oh.
8 They hide out in ambush in the villages, ready to kill innocent passers-by. They are always on the lookout for their next victim.
Anih loe avang taengah anghawk moe, sakpazaehaih tawn ai kami to hum: amtang kami naeh hanah tamquta hoiah a khet.
9 They lie in ambush like a lion ready to attack, ready to leap out from their hiding place to seize their victim. They capture the helpless, throwing a net over them.
Kaipui mah akhaw thung hoi moi angang baktih toengah, anih loe anghawkhaih hoiah a angang: amtang kami to angang moe, anih to angmah taengah phak naah palok hoiah a naeh.
10 Their victims are knocked down, laid low. They fall under the strength of the wicked.
Amtang kaminawk a thacakhaih thungah akun o thai hanah, angmah hoi angmah to mi tlim ah kaom thacak ai kami baktiah oh.
11 They tell themselves, “God won't notice. He's looking the other way. He won't ever see anything.”
Anih mah palung thung hoiah, Sithaw mah pahnet boeh: a mikhmai to hawk ving boeh, natuek naah doeh hnu mak ai boeh, tiah poek.
12 Take a stand, Lord! Raise your hand to strike! Don't forget those who can't defend themselves.
Aw Angraeng, angthawk ah! aw Sithaw, na ban to payangh tahang ah: poek pahnaem kaminawk to pahnet hmah.
13 Why do the wicked think they can treat God with such contempt? Why do they think that God won't make them accountable?
Tipongah kasae kami mah Angraeng to kasae thuih loe? Anih loe Angraeng mah kawbangah doeh na naa tang mak ai, tiah a poek.
14 But you do see the trouble and grief they cause. Take it into your own hands. The helpless trust in you; you defend the orphans.
Toe nang mah loe na hnuk pae; raihaih hoi pacip paaahaih to na ban hoi lak hanah na khet: amtang kami loe angmah hoi angmah to nang khaeah ang paek; tipongah tih nahaeloe nang loe ampa tawn ai kami bomkung ah na oh.
15 Destroy the power of the wicked, those evil people! Call each of them to account until there are none left!
Sethaih sah kami hoi zaehaih sah kami ih ban to khaek pae ah: a sak ih sethaih hnu ai karoek to pakrong ah.
16 Lord, you are King forever and ever! The nations will vanish from their lands.
Angraeng loe dungzan hoi dungzan khoek to Siangpahrang ah oh poe: Sithaw panoek ai kaminawk loe a prae thung hoiah anghmaa o tih.
17 Lord, you have heard the longing cries of those who are suffering. You will encourage them, for you will listen to them.
Aw Angraeng, nang loe mi tlim ah khosah kaminawk koehhaih to na panoek pae: nihcae ih palungthin to na caksak:
18 You will defend the rights of orphans and the oppressed so that those who are mere human beings here on earth will never terrorize them again.
Long kami mah pacaekthlaek let han ai ah, ampa tawn ai kami hoi pacaekthlaekhaih tongh kaminawk, toenghaih hoi lokcaek hanah nihcae qahhaih lok to na tahngaih pae.
