< Proverbs 9 >
1 Wisdom has built her house; she has prepared its seven pillars.
Nyansa asi ne fi; wasisi nʼafadum ason.
2 She has slaughtered her animals for meat; she has mixed her wine; and she has set her table.
Wasiesie ne nam de afra ne nsa, wato ne pon.
3 She has sent out her servant girls with invitations. She calls out from the highest places of the town,
Wasoma ne mmaawa, na ɔfrɛ fi kuropɔn no sorɔnsorɔmmea hɔ se,
4 “Everybody who needs to learn, come and see me!” To people who don't have any sense she says,
“Momma ntetekwaafo nyinaa mmra ha!” Ɔka kyerɛ wɔn a wonni atemmu se,
5 “Come, eat my food, and drink the wine I have mixed.
“Mommra mmedi mʼaduan na monnom nsa a mafra no.
6 Leave your foolish ways and you will live; follow the path that makes sense.”
Munnyaw mo ntetekwaasɛm no na mubenya nkwa; monnantew ntease akwan so.”
7 If you correct a mocker all you get are insults; if you argue with the wicked all you get is abuse.
Nea ɔteɛteɛ ɔfɛwdifo no frɛ ahohorabɔ; na nea ɔka amumɔyɛfo anim no nya ɔyaw.
8 So don't argue with mockers or they'll only hate you; argue with the wise and they'll love you.
Ɛno nti, nka ɔfɛwdifo anim na ɔmmɛtan wo; ka onyansafo anim na ɔbɛdɔ wo.
9 Educate the wise and they'll become even wiser; teach those who live right and they will increase their learning.
Ma onyansafo akwankyerɛ na ɔbɛkɔ so ahu nyansa; kyerɛkyerɛ ɔtreneeni na ɔde bɛka nʼadesua ho.
10 Honoring the Lord is the beginning of wisdom; knowledge of the Holy One brings insight.
Awurade suro yɛ nyansa mfiase Ɔkronkronni no ho nimdeɛ yɛ ntease.
11 Through wisdom you'll have many more days, increasing the years of your life.
Me mu na wo nna bɛdɔɔso, na wɔde mfe bɛka wo nkwa ho.
12 If you are wise, you are the one to profit from it; if you scoff, you alone will have to suffer the consequences.
Sɛ woyɛ onyansafo a, wubenya wo nyansa so mfaso; sɛ woyɛ ɔfɛwdifo a, wo nko ara na wubehu amane.
13 Stupidity is like a loud, ignorant woman who doesn't know anything.
Ɔbea ɔkwasea yɛ ɔkasafo; onni ahohyɛso na onni nimdeɛ.
14 She sits at the door of her house, on a seat in the high places of the town,
Ɔte ne fi pon ano, na ɔte akongua a esi kuropɔn no sorɔnsorɔmmea,
15 calling out to those passing by, going about their business,
na ɔfrɛfrɛ wɔn a wotwa mu wɔ hɔ, wɔn a wɔnam wɔn kwan so tee se,
16 “Everybody who needs to learn, come and see me!” To people who don't have any sense she says,
“Momma ntetekwaafo nyinaa mmra ha” ɔka kyerɛ wɔn a wonni atemmu se,
17 “Stolen water is sweet, and food eaten in secret tastes good!”
“Nsu a wowia no yɛ fremfrem na aduan a wodi no ahintawee no yɛ dɛ!”
18 But they don't know that the dead are there, that those she's invited are in the depths of the grave. (Sheol )
Nanso wonnim koraa sɛ awufo wɔ hɔ sɛ nʼahɔho wɔ ɔda no ase tɔnn. (Sheol )
