< Proverbs 9 >

1 Wisdom has built her house; she has prepared its seven pillars.
Chihna kiti hin a-in akisahdoh in, khompi sagi jen atungdoh tan ahi.
2 She has slaughtered her animals for meat; she has mixed her wine; and she has set her table.
Chihna kiti hin, neh le chah ding gancha phabep akitha jin, lengpi twi jong lhumkeijin ahel-in, chule chihna kiti hin an-nehna ding dokhang jeng jong atungdoh tan ahi.
3 She has sent out her servant girls with invitations. She calls out from the highest places of the town,
Munsang laija kon'in khopi sung mihoa kon chun, mikou din asohte asol in ahi.
4 “Everybody who needs to learn, come and see me!” To people who don't have any sense she says,
Koi hileh milham a um jouse, “Kakom'a hung hen,” tin akousah in ahi. Chule koi hileh alungthim bei tapou chu, kou-un, ati.
5 “Come, eat my food, and drink the wine I have mixed.
“Hung un, kaneh ding khel in neuvin, kadon ding khel in lengpitwi don un.
6 Leave your foolish ways and you will live; follow the path that makes sense.”
Milham in um hih un, giltah in hetkhenna neijin hinkho mang un,” ati.
7 If you correct a mocker all you get are insults; if you argue with the wicked all you get is abuse.
Mi munem'a noisea, adih bolsah teiding gopan jong kisuh khahna aneilo-bep ahi.
8 So don't argue with mockers or they'll only hate you; argue with the wise and they'll love you.
Hijeh chun mi munem pum-a adih bolsah teiding go-hih in, ajeh chu nahin mudalo thei ahi. Hinlah miching chu hil lechun nangailua pang jo-ding ahi.
9 Educate the wise and they'll become even wiser; teach those who live right and they will increase their learning.
Miching chu nahil chan'a ching cheh cheh ding, hibang chun mikitah jong nahil chan'a ching cheh ding ahi.
10 Honoring the Lord is the beginning of wisdom; knowledge of the Holy One brings insight.
Yahweh Pakai ginna hi chihna bulpi ahin, mithengpa hetna nei chan chun giltah'a thu ahetdoh ahi.
11 Through wisdom you'll have many more days, increasing the years of your life.
Ajeh chu keima jal'a na hinkho sao chom ding, na hinkho sunga nakum jong kibe tei ding ahi.
12 If you are wise, you are the one to profit from it; if you scoff, you alone will have to suffer the consequences.
Na chihna chu nangma goh-keuseh ding ahin, midang noisena nanei le mona chu na changseh a nakipoh ding ahi.
13 Stupidity is like a loud, ignorant woman who doesn't know anything.
Numei ngol kiti chu akam tam in, amanu chu pannabei le jum helou ahi.
14 She sits at the door of her house, on a seat in the high places of the town,
Amanu chu a-in kot phunga atoujin, kholai jenga jong mundoh lai a bou atoujin ahi.
15 calling out to those passing by, going about their business,
Amanun mi ama kincheh a kisalel akom'a hung kijot hochu “akou jin,”
16 “Everybody who needs to learn, come and see me!” To people who don't have any sense she says,
Chule milham ho koma chun kakom'a hung un tin, akouvin, lungthim beija um jouse tin akoujin ahi.
17 “Stolen water is sweet, and food eaten in secret tastes good!”
“Aguh'a kidon twi hi alhum in, aguh a kineji changlhah jong lungkim umtah ahi,” ati.
18 But they don't know that the dead are there, that those she's invited are in the depths of the grave. (Sheol h7585)
Hinlah golhangpa chun hiche mun hi thina ahi ti, aheji pon, numeinu insunga lhung jinhon jong noimi-gam mithi kholna'a lhalut ahilam-u, akihet phahji tapouve. (Sheol h7585)
