Proverbs 4
1 Listen, sons, to a father's instruction; pay attention and discover what makes sense,
൧മക്കളേ, അപ്പന്റെ പ്രബോധനം കേട്ട് വിവേകം പ്രാപിക്കേണ്ടതിന് ശ്രദ്ധിക്കുവിൻ.
2 for what I am passing on to you is reliable. Don't reject my teachings.
൨ഞാൻ നിങ്ങൾക്ക് സൽബുദ്ധി ഉപദേശിച്ചുതരുന്നു; എന്റെ ഉപദേശം നിങ്ങൾ ഉപേക്ഷിക്കരുത്.
3 When I was a son with my father—a tender young boy, my mother's only child—
൩ഞാൻ എന്റെ അപ്പന് മകനും എന്റെ അമ്മയ്ക്ക് ഓമനയും ഏകപുത്രനും ആയിരുന്നു;
4 he was the one who taught me. He told me, “Pay attention to the words I say and keep them in mind; do what I tell you and you will live.
൪അവൻ എന്നെ പഠിപ്പിച്ച്, എന്നോട് പറഞ്ഞത്: “എന്റെ വചനങ്ങളെ ഹൃദയത്തിൽ സംഗ്രഹിച്ചുകൊള്ളുക; എന്റെ കല്പനകളെ പ്രമാണിച്ച് ജീവിക്കുക.
5 Get wisdom, find out what makes sense. Don't forget my words or reject them.
൫ജ്ഞാനം സമ്പാദിക്കുക: വിവേകം നേടുക; മറക്കരുത്; എന്റെ വചനങ്ങളെ വിട്ടുമാറുകയും അരുത്.
6 Don't give up on wisdom for she will keep you safe. Love wisdom and she will protect you.
൬അതിനെ ഉപേക്ഷിക്കരുത്; അത് നിന്നെ കാക്കും; അതിൽ പ്രിയം വെക്കുക; അത് നിന്നെ സൂക്ഷിക്കും;
7 The first thing in becoming wise is to get wisdom! Whatever else you gain, gain insight.
൭ജ്ഞാനംതന്നെ പ്രധാനം; ജ്ഞാനം സമ്പാദിക്കുക; നിന്റെ സകലസമ്പാദ്യം കൊണ്ടും വിവേകം നേടുക.
8 Treasure wisdom, and she will praise you; embrace her, and she will honor you.
൮അതിനെ ഉയർത്തുക; അത് നിന്നെ ഉയർത്തും; അതിനെ ആലിംഗനം ചെയ്താൽ അത് നിനക്ക് മാനം വരുത്തും.
9 She will place on your head a wreath of grace; she will present to you a crown of glory.”
൯അത് നിന്റെ തലയെ അലങ്കാരമാല അണിയിക്കും; അത് നിന്നെ ഒരു മഹത്വകിരീടം ചൂടിക്കും.
10 Listen, my son, if you accept what I tell you, then you will live a long life.
൧൦മകനേ കേട്ട് എന്റെ വചനങ്ങളെ കൈക്കൊള്ളുക; എന്നാൽ നിനക്ക് ദീർഘായുസ്സുണ്ടാകും.
11 I have explained to you the way of wisdom; I have guided you along the right paths.
൧൧ജ്ഞാനത്തിന്റെ മാർഗ്ഗം ഞാൻ നിന്നെ ഉപദേശിക്കുന്നു; നേരെയുള്ള പാതയിൽ ഞാൻ നിന്നെ നടത്തുന്നു.
12 Nothing will block your way when you walk, you won't stumble when you run.
൧൨നടക്കുമ്പോൾ നിന്റെ കാലടികൾ തടസ്സം നേരിടുകയില്ല; ഓടുമ്പോൾ നീ ഇടറുകയുമില്ല.
13 Hold on to these instructions—don't let them go. Protect them, for they are life's foundation.
൧൩പ്രബോധനം മുറുകെ പിടിക്കുക; വിട്ടുകളയരുത്; അതിനെ കാത്തുകൊള്ളുക, അത് നിന്റെ ജീവനല്ലയോ.
14 Don't go the way of the wicked or follow the example of those who do evil.
൧൪ദുഷ്ടന്മാരുടെ പാതയിൽ നീ ചെല്ലരുത്; ദുർജ്ജനത്തിന്റെ വഴിയിൽ നടക്കുകയും അരുത്;
15 Avoid that way completely. Don't go there! Turn away, and walk on.
൧൫അതിനോട് അകന്നുനില്ക്കുക; അതിൽ നടക്കരുത്; അത് വിട്ടുമാറി കടന്നുപോകുക.
16 Evil people won't rest until they've done something wrong; they can't sleep unless they've tripped someone up.
൧൬അവർ ദോഷം ചെയ്തിട്ടല്ലാതെ ഉറങ്ങുകയില്ല; ആരെയെങ്കിലും വീഴിച്ചിട്ടല്ലാതെ അവർക്ക് ഉറക്കം വരുകയില്ല.
17 For they eat the bread of wickedness and drink the wine of violence.
൧൭ദുഷ്ടതയുടെ ആഹാരംകൊണ്ട് അവർ ഉപജീവിക്കുന്നു; ബലാല്ക്കാരത്തിന്റെ വീഞ്ഞ് അവർ പാനംചെയ്യുന്നു.
18 The way of life of the good is like the light of the sunrise, glowing brighter and brighter until the full light of day shines out.
൧൮നീതിമാന്മാരുടെ പാതയോ പ്രഭാതത്തിന്റെ വെളിച്ചംപോലെ; അത് നട്ടുച്ചവരെ അധികമധികം ശോഭിച്ചുവരുന്നു.
19 But the way of life of the wicked is like complete darkness; they don't even know what they're tripping over.
൧൯ദുഷ്ടന്മാരുടെ വഴി അന്ധകാരംപോലെയാകുന്നു; ഏതിൽ തട്ടിവീഴും എന്ന് അവർ അറിയുന്നില്ല.
20 My son, pay attention to what I tell you; listen to the words I'm saying.
൨൦മകനേ, എന്റെ വചനങ്ങൾക്ക് ശ്രദ്ധതരിക; എന്റെ മൊഴികൾക്ക് നിന്റെ ചെവിചായിക്കുക.
21 Don't lose sight of them; think about them deeply,
൨൧അവ നിന്റെ ദൃഷ്ടിയിൽനിന്ന് മാറിപ്പോകരുത്; നിന്റെ ഹൃദയത്തിന്റെ നടുവിൽ അവയെ സൂക്ഷിച്ചുവയ്ക്കുക.
22 for they are life to anyone who finds them, and make the whole body healthy.
൨൨അവയെ കിട്ടുന്നവർക്ക് അവ ജീവനും അവരുടെ മുഴുവൻശരീരത്തിനും സൗഖ്യവും ആകുന്നു.
23 Most of all, protect your mind, for everything in life flows from it.
൨൩സകലജാഗ്രതയോടുംകൂടി നിന്റെ ഹൃദയത്തെ കാത്തുകൊള്ളുക; ജീവന്റെ ഉത്ഭവം അതിൽനിന്നല്ലയോ ആകുന്നത്.
24 Don't ever lie, and don't say anything dishonest.
൨൪വായുടെ വക്രത നിന്നിൽനിന്ന് നീക്കിക്കളയുക; അധരങ്ങളുടെ വികടം നിന്നിൽനിന്ന് അകറ്റുക.
25 Focus on what's ahead of you; look at what's in front of you.
൨൫നിന്റെ കണ്ണ് നേരെ നോക്കട്ടെ; നിന്റെ ദൃഷ്ടി മുമ്പോട്ട് തന്നെ ആയിരിക്കട്ടെ.
26 Pay attention to the path you decide to follow, and you'll be safe wherever you go.
൨൬നിന്റെ കാലുകളുടെ പാത നിരപ്പാക്കുക; നിന്റെ വഴികളെല്ലാം സ്ഥിരമായിരിക്കട്ടെ.
27 Don't deviate to the right or the left, and turn away from evil.
൨൭ഇടത്തോട്ടോ വലത്തോട്ടോ തിരിയരുത്; നിന്റെ കാലുകൾ തിന്മയിൽനിന്ന് അകലുമാറാക്കുക.
