< Proverbs 2 >
1 My son, if you accept what I say and value my instructions,
Me ba, sɛ wotie me nsɛm, na woma me nkyerɛkyerɛ tena wo mu a,
2 if you pay attention to wisdom and really try to understand;
sɛ wowɛn wʼaso ma nyansa na wode wʼakoma ma nteaseɛ,
3 if you cry out for insight and call loudly for help in understanding;
na woma wo nne so frɛ nhunumu na wosu frɛ nteaseɛ,
4 if you look for it as if it were silver and search for it as if it were hidden treasure;
na sɛ wohwehwɛ no te sɛ deɛ wohwehwɛ dwetɛ na wo hwehwɛ no sɛdeɛ worepɛ ademudeɛ a ahinta a,
5 then you will understand how to relate to the Lord and discover the truth about God.
ɛno na wobɛte Awurade suro ase na woahunu Onyankopɔn ho nimdeɛ.
6 The Lord is the source of wisdom; what he says provides knowledge that makes sense.
Awurade ma nimdeɛ, na nʼanom na nyansa ne nteaseɛ firi ba.
7 He gives good judgment to those who live right; he defends those who have good sense.
Ɔkora nkonimdie ma wɔn a wɔteneɛ, ɔyɛ kyɛm ma wɔn a wɔn akwan yɛ pɛ,
8 He supports those who act fairly and protects those who trust in him.
ɔwɛn deɛ ɔtene akwan, na ɔbɔ wɔn a wɔdi no nokorɛ no akwan ho ban.
9 Then you will be able to recognize what is right and just and fair, in fact all that is good in the way you should live.
Ɛno na wobɛte deɛ ɛyɛ ne deɛ ɛyɛ pɛ ne deɛ ɛfata, ɛkwan biara a ɛyɛ ase.
10 For wisdom will fill your mind, and knowledge will make you happy.
Afei nyansa bɛwura wʼakoma mu, na nimdeɛ ayɛ ahomeka ama wo kra.
11 Good decisions will keep you on track; thinking logically will keep you safe.
Adwene bɛbɔ wo ho ban na nteaseɛ ahwɛ wo so.
12 Doing this will save you from the ways of evil, from men who tell twisted lies,
Nyansa bɛyi wo afiri amumuyɛfoɔ akwan mu, ɛbɛyi wo afiri nnipa a wɔn nsɛm yɛ basabasa nsam,
13 who turn away from following what is right to walk down paths of darkness.
na wɔmane firi akwan pa so kɔnante esum akwan so,
14 They happily do wrong; they love how twisted evil is.
wɔn a wɔn ani gye bɔneyɛ ho, na wɔdi ahurisie wɔ bɔne mu basabasayɛ ho,
15 They live crooked lives doing deceitful things.
wɔn a wɔn akwan yɛ kɔntɔnkye na wɔyɛ abonsamfoɔ wɔ wɔn akwan mu.
16 Doing this will also save you from a woman who acts immorally, from a woman who like a prostitute tries to seduce you with flattering words.
Nimdeɛ bɛgye wo afiri ɔbaa waresɛefoɔ no nsam, afiri ɔbaa warefoɔ sansani a ɔka nnaadaasɛm ho,
17 Such a woman has left her husband she married when she was young, forgetting the promises she made before God.
deɛ wagyaa ne mmabaawaberɛ mu kunu na wapo apam a ɔyɛɛ wɔ Onyankopɔn anim no.
18 What happens in her house leads to death; following her way leads to the grave.
Ne fie yɛ ɛkwan a ɛkɔ owuo mu na nʼakwan kɔ awufoɔ honhom nkyɛn.
19 No one who goes to her comes back; they don't ever find the way back to life again.
Obiara a ɔkɔ ne nkyɛn no nsane mma anaasɛ ɔrensi nkwa akwan so.
20 So you should follow the way of the good, and make sure you stay on the paths of those who do right.
Enti wobɛdi nnipa pa anammɔn akyi na woanante ateneneefoɔ akwan so.
21 For only people who live right will live in the land; only honest people will remain there.
Ɛfiri sɛ wɔn a wɔtene bɛtena asase no so, na wɔn a asɛm nni wɔn ho no na wɔbɛka hɔ;
22 But the wicked will be thrown out of the land; those who are untrustworthy will be pulled out by the roots.
na wɔbɛtwa amumuyɛfoɔ afiri asase no so, na wɔatɔre atorofoɔ ase.
