< Proverbs 2 >

1 My son, if you accept what I say and value my instructions,
Nwa m, ọ bụrụ na ị nabata okwu ọnụ m niile zobekwa iwu m niile nʼime obi gị,
2 if you pay attention to wisdom and really try to understand;
tọọ ntị gị nʼala nye amamihe, wepụta obi gị inwe nghọta.
3 if you cry out for insight and call loudly for help in understanding;
E, ọ bụrụ na ọ bụ ihe ọmụma ka ị na-akpọku, ọ bụrụkwa na ọ bụ nghọta ka ị na-eweliri olu gị,
4 if you look for it as if it were silver and search for it as if it were hidden treasure;
ọ bụrụ na ị na-achọ ya dịka i si achọ ọlaọcha maọbụ akụ nke zoro ezo,
5 then you will understand how to relate to the Lord and discover the truth about God.
mgbe ahụ, ị ga-aghọtakwa ihe bụ ịtụ egwu Onyenwe anyị chọtakwa ihe ọmụma nke Chineke.
6 The Lord is the source of wisdom; what he says provides knowledge that makes sense.
Nʼihi na ọ bụ Onyenwe anyị na-enye amamihe; nʼebe ọ nọ ka nghọta na ihe ọmụma na-esi abịa.
7 He gives good judgment to those who live right; he defends those who have good sense.
Ọ na-edebere ndị ụzọ ha ziri ezi nzube ọganihu, ọ bụ ọta nye ndị na-eje ije nʼizuoke.
8 He supports those who act fairly and protects those who trust in him.
Ọ na-echebekwa ụzọ nke ndị na-eme ezi ihe na-agbaso, na-elekọtakwa ụzọ nke ndị hụrụ ya nʼanya na-agbaso.
9 Then you will be able to recognize what is right and just and fair, in fact all that is good in the way you should live.
Mgbe ahụ ka ị ga-aghọta ihe ziri ezi na ihe dị mma na ezi ụzọ niile.
10 For wisdom will fill your mind, and knowledge will make you happy.
Nʼihi na amamihe ga-enwe ọnọdụ nʼime obi gị, ihe ọmụma ga-adịkwa mkpụrụobi gị ụtọ.
11 Good decisions will keep you on track; thinking logically will keep you safe.
Izuzu zuruoke ga-echebe gị, nghọta ga na-eche gị nche.
12 Doing this will save you from the ways of evil, from men who tell twisted lies,
Amamihe ga-azọpụta gị site nʼụzọ ndị mmehie, sitekwa na mmadụ ndị okwu ha jọrọ njọ,
13 who turn away from following what is right to walk down paths of darkness.
ndị hapụrụ ụzọ niile ziri ezi nke Chineke na-agbaso ụzọ niile nke ọchịchịrị,
14 They happily do wrong; they love how twisted evil is.
ndị na-aṅụrị ọṅụ nʼihe ọjọọ, nʼihi na mmehie ha na-atọ ha ụtọ.
15 They live crooked lives doing deceitful things.
Ihe ọbụla ha na-eme gbagọrọ agbagọ, jọọkwa njọ.
16 Doing this will also save you from a woman who acts immorally, from a woman who like a prostitute tries to seduce you with flattering words.
Ọ bụ naanị amamihe ga-anapụta gị nʼaka nwanyị akwụna, na nwanyị na-abụghị nwunye gị nke na-ekwu okwu nrafu.
17 Such a woman has left her husband she married when she was young, forgetting the promises she made before God.
Onye na-ahapụ di ọ lụrụ nʼagbọghọ, nke chefuru ọgbụgba ndụ ọ gbara nʼihu Chineke.
18 What happens in her house leads to death; following her way leads to the grave.
Ụlọ nwanyị dị otu a dị nʼokporoụzọ nke na-eduba nʼọnwụ na nʼọkụ ala mmụọ. (questioned)
19 No one who goes to her comes back; they don't ever find the way back to life again.
Ndị ikom niile banyere nʼụlọ ha na-ala nʼiyi. Ha adịghị alọtakwa nʼokporoụzọ nke na-eduba na ndụ.
20 So you should follow the way of the good, and make sure you stay on the paths of those who do right.
Nʼihi nke a, ị ga-aga ije nʼụzọ ndị ezi omume, debekwa ụkwụ gị nʼokporoụzọ niile nke ndị ezi omume,
21 For only people who live right will live in the land; only honest people will remain there.
nʼihi na ọ bụ naanị ndị ziri ezi ga-ebi nʼala ahụ, ndị na-enweghị ịta ụta ga-afọdụkwa nʼime ya.
22 But the wicked will be thrown out of the land; those who are untrustworthy will be pulled out by the roots.
Ma ndị na-emebi iwu ka a ga-ebipụ site nʼala ahụ, ọ bụkwa ndị na-ekwesighị ntụkwasị obi ka a ga-ewezuga na ya.
