Proverbs 13
1 A wise son accepts his father's discipline, but a mocker doesn't listen to correction.
ജ്ഞാനമുള്ള മകൻ തന്റെ പിതാവിന്റെ ശിക്ഷണത്തിനു ശ്രദ്ധനൽകുന്നു, എന്നാൽ പരിഹാസി ശാസന ഗൗനിക്കുന്നില്ല.
2 You'll be rewarded for saying good things, but dishonest people want violence.
തന്റെ അധരഫലങ്ങളിൽനിന്ന് ഒരു വ്യക്തി നന്മ ആസ്വദിക്കുന്നു, എന്നാൽ വിശ്വാസഘാതകർ അക്രമങ്ങളിൽ ആസക്തരാണ്.
3 Watch what you say and save your life—saying too much leads to disaster.
തങ്ങളുടെ വാക്കുകൾ നിയന്ത്രിക്കുന്നവർ സ്വന്തം ജീവൻ സംരക്ഷിക്കുന്നു, വിടുവായത്തരം പറയുന്നവർ നാശത്തിനു വിധേയരാകുന്നു.
4 Lazy people want a lot, but get nothing; if you work hard you'll be well rewarded.
അലസരുടെ ആർത്തി ഒരിക്കലും ശമിക്കുന്നില്ല, എന്നാൽ സ്ഥിരോത്സാഹിയുടെ ആഗ്രഹങ്ങൾക്കു പരിപൂർണതൃപ്തിവരുന്നു.
5 Good people hate lies, but the wicked cause a stink and bring disgrace.
നീതിനിഷ്ഠർ കാപട്യം വെറുക്കുന്നു, എന്നാൽ ദുഷ്ടർ ദുർഗന്ധവാഹികളായി സ്വയം അപമാനം വിളിച്ചുവരുത്തുന്നു.
6 Goodness protects those who live right, but sin overcomes the wicked.
നീതി സത്യസന്ധരെ കാത്തുസൂക്ഷിക്കുന്നു, എന്നാൽ അകൃത്യം പാപിയെ നിലംപരിശാക്കുന്നു.
7 Some pretend to be rich, but don't have anything, while others pretend to be poor and are very rich.
ഒന്നുമില്ലാത്ത ഒരാൾ ധനികനെന്നു നടിക്കുന്നു, മറ്റൊരാൾ വലിയ സമ്പത്തിന്നുടമ; എങ്കിലും ദരിദ്രനെന്നു ഭാവിക്കുന്നു.
8 The rich can pay a ransom to save their lives, but the poor aren't troubled in this way.
ധനികനു തന്റെ സമ്പത്തു മോചനദ്രവ്യമായി കൊടുക്കാം, എന്നാൽ ദരിദ്രന് ഭീഷണിപ്പെടുത്തുന്ന ശകാരത്തിനു പ്രതികരിക്കാൻപോലും കഴിയില്ല.
9 The life of good people shines brightly, but the lamp of the wicked will be snuffed out.
നീതിനിഷ്ഠരുടെ വെളിച്ചം പ്രശോഭിക്കുന്നു, എന്നാൽ ദുഷ്ടരുടെ വിളക്ക് ഊതിയണയ്ക്കപ്പെടുന്നു.
10 Pride only causes conflict; but those who take advice are wise.
എവിടെ അഹന്തയുണ്ടോ അവിടെ കലഹമുണ്ട്, എന്നാൽ ഉപദേശം സ്വീകരിക്കുന്നവരിൽ ജ്ഞാനമുണ്ട്.
11 Wealth gained by fraud quickly disappears, but those who gather bit by bit prosper.
കുടിലതയിലൂടെ ആർജിച്ച സമ്പത്ത് ക്ഷയിച്ചുപോകും, എന്നാൽ കഠിനാധ്വാനത്താൽ നേടുന്നവരുടെ സമ്പത്ത് വർധിച്ചുവരും.
12 Hope that's delayed makes you feel sick, but a wish that comes true revives you.
സഫലമാകാൻ വൈകുന്ന പ്രതീക്ഷകൾ ഹൃദയത്തെ രോഗാതുരമാക്കുന്നു, എന്നാൽ ചിരകാലാഭിലാഷത്തിന്റെ പൂർത്തീകരണം ജീവന്റെ വൃക്ഷമാണ്.
13 If you despise words of advice, you'll pay for it; but if you respect what you're told, you'll be rewarded.
ഉപദേശം ധിക്കരിക്കുന്നവർ അതിനു നല്ല വില കൊടുക്കേണ്ടിവരും, എന്നാൽ കൽപ്പനകൾ ആദരിക്കുന്നവർക്കു പ്രതിഫലം ലഭിക്കും.
14 The teaching of the wise is like a fountain of life, so you can avoid the snares of death.
ജ്ഞാനിയുടെ ഉപദേശം ജീവജലധാരയാണ്, അത് ഒരു മനുഷ്യനെ മരണക്കെണിയിൽനിന്നു രക്ഷിക്കുന്നു.
15 Good sense earns appreciation, but the way of the unfaithful is hard.
നല്ല വിധിനിർണയം പ്രസാദം ആർജിക്കുന്നു, എന്നാൽ വിശ്വാസഘാതകർ അവരെത്തന്നെ നാശത്തിലേക്കു നയിക്കുന്നു.
16 All wise people act intelligently, but stupid people demonstrate their stupidity.
വിവേകികൾ തങ്ങളുടെ പരിജ്ഞാനത്തിനനുസരിച്ചു പ്രവർത്തിക്കുന്നു, എന്നാൽ ഭോഷർ തങ്ങളുടെ മടയത്തരം വെളിവാക്കുന്നു.
17 A bad messenger creates trouble, but a faithful representative brings healing.
ദുഷ്ടത പ്രവർത്തിക്കുന്ന സന്ദേശവാഹകർ കുഴപ്പത്തിൽ ചാടുന്നു, എന്നാൽ വിശ്വസ്തരായ സ്ഥാനപതി സൗഖ്യം കൊണ്ടുവരുന്നു.
18 Poverty and disgrace come to those who ignore instruction, but those who accept correction are honored.
ശിക്ഷണം നിരസിക്കുന്നവർ അപമാനത്തിനും ദാരിദ്ര്യത്തിനും ഇരയാകുന്നു, എന്നാൽ ശാസന അംഗീകരിക്കുന്നവരോ, ബഹുമാനിതരാകും.
19 It's nice to see a wish come true, but stupid people hate to turn away from evil to achieve this.
അഭിലാഷങ്ങളുടെ പൂർത്തീകരണം ആത്മാവിനു മാധുര്യമേകുന്നു, എന്നാൽ ഭോഷർക്ക് ദുഷ്ടതയിൽനിന്നു പിന്മാറുന്നതു വെറുപ്പാകുന്നു.
20 Being friends with wise people will make you wise, but being friends with stupid people will only cause you problems.
ജ്ഞാനിയോടൊപ്പം നടക്കുന്നയാൾ ജ്ഞാനിയായിമാറും, ഭോഷരോടൊത്തു നടക്കുന്നയാളോ, കഷ്ടത നേരിടും!
21 Tragedy chases after the sinner, but prosperity rewards the good.
അനർഥം പാപിയെ പിൻതുടരുന്നു, എന്നാൽ നീതിനിഷ്ഠർക്ക് അഭിവൃദ്ധി കൈവരുന്നു.
22 Good people leave an inheritance to their grandchildren, but the sinner's wealth is saved for those who live right.
നല്ല മനുഷ്യർ അവരുടെ കൊച്ചുമക്കൾക്കും പൈതൃകാവകാശം ശേഷിപ്പിക്കും, എന്നാൽ ഒരു പാപിയുടെ സമ്പത്ത് നീതിനിഷ്ഠർക്കുവേണ്ടി ശേഖരിക്കപ്പെടുന്നു.
23 The unploughed ground of the poor could produce a lot of food, but it's stolen through injustice.
ഉഴുതുമറിക്കാത്ത കൃഷിയിടം ദരിദ്രർക്കുവേണ്ടി ആഹാരം വിളയിക്കുന്നു, എന്നാൽ അനീതി അവ അപഹരിച്ചുകളയുന്നു.
24 People who don't discipline their children hate them. Those who love their children carefully discipline them.
വടി ഒഴിവാക്കുന്നവർ തങ്ങളുടെ മക്കളെ വെറുക്കുന്നു, എന്നാൽ തങ്ങളുടെ മക്കളെ സ്നേഹിക്കുന്നവർ അവരെ ശിക്ഷിക്കുന്നതിൽ ശ്രദ്ധാലുക്കളാണ്.
25 The good eat until they're full; but the belly of the wicked is empty.
നീതിനിഷ്ഠർ തങ്ങൾക്ക് തൃപ്തിവരുവോളം ഭക്ഷിക്കുന്നു, എന്നാൽ ദുഷ്ടരുടെ ഉദരത്തിൽ വിശപ്പിനു ശമനംവരികയില്ല.
