1 The Lord hates dishonest scales, but accurate weights please him.

2 With pride comes disgrace, but with humility comes wisdom.
Kiletsahnan ahin phah teng, mudanan ahin lhut paijin, milung neng ho ding in vang chihna aum jing e.
3 Honesty guides the good, but deceit destroys liars.
Midih ho kamkeh loubeh a aum jiu hi, amasang-diuva lamhil a pang ahin, jou le nal’a thuseija lungthim dihlou hin, ajona leh manthahna aso-sah jitauvin ahi.
4 Wealth won't help you on judgment day, but goodness saves you from death.
Pathen lunghan niteng, nei le gou iman apang pon, dihna kiti hi thina dinmun a jong huidohna pang ahi.
5 The goodness of the innocent keeps them on track, but the wicked fall by their own wickedness.
Chamdel a um midih chu alampi a-jang in, midihlou vang chu aphatlouna in alhuh denji ahi.
6 The goodness of those who live right will save them, but the dishonest are trapped by their own desires.
Midihte chu adihna in ahuhdoh jin, jou le nal a thuseina vang chun soh-a apanlo sah ahibouve.
7 When a wicked person dies, their hopes die with them; what the godless look forward to is gone.
Miphalou chu athiteng akinepna jong pannabei ahin, Pathen sumilte dinga kinepna jong pannabei ahi.
8 The good are saved from trouble, while the wicked get into trouble.
Midih chu gim le hesohna kon in akihuhdoh jin, miphalou vang chu gim le hesohna’a alhalut jitai.
9 Godless people mouth off and destroy their neighbors, but the good are saved by wisdom.
Pathen sumil mi chun aheng akom manthana ding jeng asei jin, hinlah hetkhenna thahat nei jeh in, midih te huhdoh in aum-jin ahi.
10 The whole town celebrates when good people are successful; they also shout for joy when the wicked die.
Midih hon aphalam amano teng, khopi sunga mihemte akipah un, midihlou ho chunga manthahna alhun teng, mi akipah jin ahi.
11 Ethical people are a blessing to a town, but what the wicked say destroys it.
Midih ho chunga phattheina jal in, khopi sung mite dopsang in aum un, hinlah midihlou ho thumot sei jeh’in khopi amangthah bep jin ahi.
12 People who run down their neighbors have no sense; someone who's sensible keeps quiet.
Aheng akom hebol lou-pachu milungthim bei ahin, thil hetkhenna neipa vang chu thipbeh chan aum jin ahi.
13 A gossip goes around telling secrets, but trustworthy people keep confidences.
Muntinna thu seilepa chun thuguh jeng jong aseidoh jin, hinlah tahsan theitah mi vang chun thuguh kiti a-im jon ahi.
14 A nation falls without good guidance, but they are saved through much wise counsel.
Kilamhilna aum louteng mipi kipal tei ding, guhthim cha kithuhilna achun bitna aum teijin ahi.
15 You'll get into trouble if you guarantee a stranger's loans—you're far safer if you refuse to make such pledges.
Jin dinga thil man kitung chun atohga amu tei ding, thil man tun ding deiloupa vang chu hoidoh tei ding ahi.
16 A gracious woman holds on to her honor just as ruthless men hold on to their wealth.
Mi ngailuthem numei chu jana chang tei ding, gitlouna vang chun noisena dimset akimu ding ahi.
17 If you're kind, you'll be rewarded; but if you're cruel, you'll hurt yourself.
Mi ngailuthem chun phatchomna atoh doh ahin, mi kilose vang chun maha akilam doh-ji ahi.
18 The wicked earn wages that cheat them, but those who sow goodness reap a genuine reward.

19 Do what's right, and you will live; chase after evil and you will die.
Thildih tuhchah a ngailu chun hinna anei tei ding, aphalou lam jenga chepa chu thitei ding ahi.
20 The Lord hates perverted minds, but is happy with those who live moral lives.
Alungthim a thildih lou puho Pakaiyin athet in, achena lam lam’a chamdel’a umte chunga Pakai akipah jing in ahi.
21 You can be certain of this: the wicked won't go unpunished, but the good will be saved.

22 A beautiful woman who lacks good judgment is like a gold ring in a pig's snout.
Limgeh a umlou numei kitihi vohpi nahko sunga sana chao kiba bep kheh ahi.
23 Good people want what's best, but what the wicked hope for ends in death.
Midih ho dei le ngai chu, apha cha cha jeng ahin, midihlou ho kinepna vang chu lungsatna jeng ahibouve.
24 If you give generously you receive more, but if you keep back what you should give, you end up poor.
Itcha louhel’a hongphal mi chu ahao cheh cheh jin, mihem koi hileh apeh ding kisan nunglah achu lhasam cheh cheh ding ahi.
25 If you're generous, you'll become rich; give someone a drink of water, and you'll be given one in return.

26 People curse those who hoard grain; but they bless those who sell.
Chang hom-lou a koitup chah khehpa chu mipi sapset chang ding, hinlah kiphal tah’a chang homdohpa chunga vang phattheina lhung ding ahi.
27 If you look to do good, you'll be appreciated; but if you look for evil, you'll find it!
Giltah’a thilpha ngaito pan, lungkimna aneijin, thilpha lou jong chu aphaloupa chunga aga chu-jitan ahi.
28 If you trust in your riches, you'll fall; but if you do good, you'll flourish like green leaves.
Nei le gou’a kisongpa chu ahomkeuva um tei ding, midihte vang thingna banga nou jing diu ahi.
29 If you cause trouble in your family, you'll inherit nothing but air. Stupid people end up as servants to those who think wisely.
Mi koi hileh a-insung vaihom tup lou chu huija leng le tobangbep ahin, chule mingol chun miching ho jenlea pang tei ding ahi.
30 The fruit of the good is a tree of life, and the wise person saves people.
Midih natoh chu hinna thingphung ga tobang asoh jin, pannabeija kichihsahna hin hinkho manthahna alhut jin ahi.
31 If the good are repaid here on earth, how much more will the wicked who sin be repaid!
