< Nahum 1 >
1 A prophecy about Nineveh: the scroll of the vision that came to Nahum the Elkoshite.
Hiche hi Nineveh khopi chung chang thudola thuphondoh, Elkosh khoa pat Nahum kitipan themgaovin thil’amu banga athil amu ho kisutna lekhabu ahi.
2 The Lord is a jealous and avenging God—the Lord God is avenging and angry. The Lord takes vengeance on his enemies, he is angry with those who are hostile to him.
Pakai hi Pathen engsetah leh phula jing Pathen ahi. Aman a-lunghan teng phulah abol jin, Pathen in ama doudal te chung’a phu alah ding, A ma lunghanna chu a galmite chung a abuhlhah ding ahi.
3 The Lord is slow to become angry, has great power, and will not leave the guilty unpunished. He walks among the whirlwind and the storm; the clouds are like dust beneath his feet.
Pakai hi kintah’a lunghang lou Thahattah ahi. Chule ajeh beijin Pakaiyin themmo nahi amoh ngaidam jipoi. Pakai hi chimpei le khopi huija alamlhan, Meilhang jouse jong hi akengphanga leivui jeng ahibouve.
4 He commands the sea and makes it dry; he dries up all the rivers. Bashan and Carmel wither; the blossom of Lebanon fades.

6 Who can withstand his fury? Who can endure the heat of his anger? His rage pours out like molten fire; he shatters rocks to pieces.
Pakai a-lunghan teng koiham Ama masanga ding ngam ding? Alung han deu jeju chu koiham athoh ngapcha ding? Ajeh chu alunghan teng mei-al kisung lha tobang ahin, Songpi jouse jong hi Pakai jeh-in apoh keh jitauve.
7 The Lord is good, a place of safety in a time of trouble. He takes care of those who place their trust in him,
Pakai hi nunnem tah ahin, Gim le hesoh nikhoa kisel na kulpi ahi; Amaa kiselji mihem ho chu Pakaiyin amelchih sohkei ahi.
8 but those who oppose him will be swept away by a tremendous flood to their destruction. He pursues his enemies into the darkness of death.
Ama kidoupite vang chu Twisoh hattah letjeng junga hunglong chu atolmang sah hel ding, Amelmate jong chu muthim khojing lah’a adel lut ding ahi.
9 Why are you plotting against the Lord? He will end it completely; misery won't arise twice.
Ipi dinga Pakai dounaa thilgon naneiju ham? Pakaiyin achaina hel’a asuh manghel ding; akisatpite chunga chu nivei phulah khel-a khatveija asuhgam hel ding ahi.
10 They entangle themselves like people caught in thorn bushes; they are like drunks full of drink. They will be completely burned up like dry straw.
Ama kisatpite chu lingleh khao kihel chom tobanga, mangthah bep diu, chule changpol gosa banga mangthah ahitauve.
11 One of you is plotting evil against the Lord, someone who is planning wickedness.
Pakai douna dinga tohgon neija, hangsan tah’a thuseija pang, nangmaa kon mihem khatbe hung louham?
12 This is what the Lord says: Even though they are strong and numerous, they will be cut down and they will pass away. Though I have caused you trouble, I will not do so anymore.
Pakai Pathen in hiti hin aseije: “Amaho hi thahat’u hen lang mi tamu jongleh abonchauva kisatgam’uva kitolmang del diu ahi. Nangma vang bol gentheijin ana um jongleh chun, tun nabol genthei kit tapong’e.
13 Now I will break their yoke from your necks and tear away the chains which bind you.

14 This is what the Lord has ordered concerning you. You will have no descendants to carry on your name. I will destroy the gods in your temples, all the wooden and metal idols. I am digging your grave, for you are depraved.
Chule nangma Assyria te chung chang thudol’a Pakaiyin thu apen, namin pu ding cha le nao hung peng kitlou ding ahitai; ajeh chu Pathen lim nasemthu nahou naa kona milim kilhajol hole kikhengjol ho aboncha ka paimanga, chule nangma kivuina ding lhankhuh, jachatna tampi kasempeh ding nahi,” ati.
15 Look! A messenger is coming over the mountains, bringing good news and proclaiming peace. Judah, celebrate your religious festivals and keep your vows, for never again will wicked enemies invade your land—they will be completely destroyed.
