1 This book is the record of Jesus the Messiah, the son of David, the son of Abraham, beginning with the family line:

Ouinge fil nukewa kacl Abraham me nwe kacl David oasr fil singoul akosr, ac kacl David me nwe ke sruoh in Babylon oasr fil singoul akosr, ac tukun sruoh in Babylon me nwe ke isusla lun Messiah oasr pac fil singoul akosr.
18 This is how the birth of Jesus the Messiah happened. His mother, Mary, was engaged to Joseph, but before they slept together she became pregnant by the Holy Spirit.
Pa inge luman isusla lun Jesus Christ. Mary, nina kien Jesus, el tuh ako nu sel Joseph, tusruktu meet liki eltal ac payukyak uh, Mary el etauk lah el pitutu ke Ngun Mutal.
19 Joseph, her fiancé, was a good man and didn't want to shame her publicly, so he decided to break the engagement discreetly.
Joseph el sie mwet suwoswos, tusruktu el tia lungse akmwekinyal Mary ye mutun mwet uh, ke sripa se inge el suk elan tari sel in lukma.
20 While he was thinking about all of this, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and told him, “Joseph, son of David, don't be afraid to marry Mary because she is pregnant by the Holy Spirit.
Ke el srakna nunku ma inge, sie lipufan lun Leum sikyang nu sel in sie mweme ac fahk, “Joseph, fita lal David, nimet kom sangeng in eisal Mary tuh elan mutan kiom. El pitutuyak ke Ngun Mutal.
21 She will give birth to a son and you shall call him Jesus, for he will save people from their sins.”
El ac fah oswela sie wen, ac kom fah sang inel Jesus — mweyen El ac molela mwet lal liki ma koluk lalos.”
22 (Now this all happened to fulfill what the Lord said through the prophet:
Ma inge nukewa sikyak tuh in akpwayeye kas ma Leum El tuh fahkak ke oalin mwet palu, su fahk,
23 “A virgin will become pregnant, and will give birth to a son. They will call him Immanuel,” which means “God with us.”)
“Sie mutan fusr su soenna etu mwet, ac fah pitutuyak ac oswela sie wen, su ac fah pangpang Immanuel” (kalmac pa “God El oasr yorosr”).
24 Joseph woke up and did what the angel of the Lord told him to do.
Ouinge ke Joseph el asmakla, el eisal Mary tuh elan mutan kial, oana ke lipufan lun Leum tuh fahk nu sel.
25 Joseph married Mary, but did not sleep with her until after she had given birth to a son, whom he named Jesus.
Tusruktu wangin osun laltal in mano meet liki Mary el oswela wen se natul ah. Ac Joseph el sang inel Jesus.
