Matthew 24
1 As Jesus was leaving the Temple his disciples came to him, pointing proudly to the Temple buildings.
அநந்தரம்’ யீஸு² ர்யதா³ மந்தி³ராத்³ ப³ஹி ர்க³ச்ச²தி, ததா³நீம்’ ஸி²ஷ்யாஸ்தம்’ மந்தி³ரநிர்ம்மாணம்’ த³ர்ஸ²யிதுமாக³தா: |
2 But Jesus replied, “You see all these buildings? I tell you the truth: there won't be one stone left upon another. Every last one will come crashing down!”
ததோ யீஸு²ஸ்தாநுவாச, யூயம்’ கிமேதாநி ந பஸ்²யத²? யுஷ்மாநஹம்’ ஸத்யம்’ வதா³மி, ஏதந்நிசயநஸ்ய பாஷாணைகமப்யந்யபாஷாணேபரி ந ஸ்தா²ஸ்யதி ஸர்வ்வாணி பூ⁴மிஸாத் காரிஷ்யந்தே|
3 As Jesus sat on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to him in private, and asked, “Please tell us when this will happen. What will be the sign of your coming and the end of the world?” (aiōn g165)
அநந்தரம்’ தஸ்மிந் ஜைதுநபர்வ்வதோபரி ஸமுபவிஷ்டே ஸி²ஷ்யாஸ்தஸ்ய ஸமீபமாக³த்ய கு³ப்தம்’ பப்ரச்சு²: , ஏதா க⁴டநா: கதா³ ப⁴விஷ்யந்தி? ப⁴வத ஆக³மநஸ்ய யுகா³ந்தஸ்ய ச கிம்’ லக்ஷ்ம? தத³ஸ்மாந் வத³து| (aiōn g165)
4 “Make sure no one misleads you,” Jesus replied.
ததா³நீம்’ யீஸு²ஸ்தாநவோசத், அவத⁴த்³வ்வம்’, கோபி யுஷ்மாந் ந ப்⁴ரமயேத்|
5 “Many will come claiming to be me, saying, ‘I'm the Messiah,’ and they will deceive many people.
ப³ஹவோ மம நாம க்³ரு’ஹ்லந்த ஆக³மிஷ்யந்தி, க்²ரீஷ்டோ(அ)ஹமேவேதி வாசம்’ வத³ந்தோ ப³ஹூந் ப்⁴ரமயிஷ்யந்தி|
6 You'll hear about wars, and rumors about wars, but don't be anxious. These things have to happen, but this isn't the end.
யூயஞ்ச ஸம்’க்³ராமஸ்ய ரணஸ்ய சாட³ம்ப³ரம்’ ஸ்²ரோஷ்யத², அவத⁴த்³வ்வம்’ தேந சஞ்சலா மா ப⁴வத, ஏதாந்யவஸ்²யம்’ க⁴டிஷ்யந்தே, கிந்து ததா³ யுகா³ந்தோ நஹி|
7 Nations will attack other nations, and kingdoms will fight against other kingdoms. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places,
அபரம்’ தே³ஸ²ஸ்ய விபக்ஷோ தே³ஸோ² ராஜ்யஸ்ய விபக்ஷோ ராஜ்யம்’ ப⁴விஷ்யதி, ஸ்தா²நே ஸ்தா²நே ச து³ர்பி⁴க்ஷம்’ மஹாமாரீ பூ⁴கம்பஸ்²ச ப⁴விஷ்யந்தி,
8 but all these things are just the beginnings of birth pains.
ஏதாநி து³: கோ²பக்ரமா: |
9 Then they will arrest you, they will persecute you, and they will kill you. All people will hate you because of me.
ததா³நீம்’ லோகா து³: க²ம்’ போ⁴ஜயிதும்’ யுஷ்மாந் பரகரேஷு ஸமர்பயிஷ்யந்தி ஹநிஷ்யந்தி ச, ததா² மம நாமகாரணாத்³ யூயம்’ ஸர்வ்வதே³ஸீ²யமநுஜாநாம்’ ஸமீபே க்⁴ரு’ணார்ஹா ப⁴விஷ்யத²|
10 At that time many believers will give up believing. They will betray one another and hate one another.
ப³ஹுஷு விக்⁴நம்’ ப்ராப்தவத்ஸு பரஸ்பரம் ரு’தீயாம்’ க்ரு’தவத்ஸு ச ஏகோ(அ)பரம்’ பரகரேஷு ஸமர்பயிஷ்யதி|
11 Many false prophets will come and deceive many people.
ததா² ப³ஹவோ ம்ரு’ஷாப⁴விஷ்யத்³வாதி³ந உபஸ்தா²ய ப³ஹூந் ப்⁴ரமயிஷ்யந்தி|
12 The increasing evil will lead the love of many to grow cold,
து³ஷ்கர்ம்மணாம்’ பா³ஹுல்யாஞ்ச ப³ஹூநாம்’ ப்ரேம ஸீ²தலம்’ ப⁴விஷ்யதி|
13 but those who hold out to the end will be saved.
கிந்து ய: கஸ்²சித் ஸே²ஷம்’ யாவத்³ தை⁴ர்ய்யமாஸ்²ரயதே, ஸஏவ பரித்ராயிஷ்யதே|
14 The good news of the kingdom will be proclaimed around the whole world so everyone will be able to hear it, and then the end will come.
அபரம்’ ஸர்வ்வதே³ஸீ²யலோகாந் ப்ரதிமாக்ஷீ ப⁴விதும்’ ராஜஸ்ய ஸு²ப⁴ஸமாசார: ஸர்வ்வஜக³தி ப்ரசாரிஷ்யதே, ஏதாத்³ரு’ஸி² ஸதி யுகா³ந்த உபஸ்தா²ஸ்யதி|
15 So when you see the ‘idolatry that defiles’ standing in the holy place that the prophet Daniel spoke about (those who read this please consider carefully),
அதோ யத் ஸர்வ்வநாஸ²க்ரு’த்³க்⁴ரு’ணார்ஹம்’ வஸ்து தா³நியேல்ப⁴விஷ்யத்³வதி³நா ப்ரோக்தம்’ தத்³ யதா³ புண்யஸ்தா²நே ஸ்தா²பிதம்’ த்³ரக்ஷ்யத², (ய: பட²தி, ஸ பு³த்⁴யதாம்’)
16 then the people living in Judea should run away to the mountains.
ததா³நீம்’ யே யிஹூதீ³யதே³ஸே² திஷ்ட²ந்தி, தே பர்வ்வதேஷு பலாயந்தாம்’|
17 Anyone who is on the housetop must not go down and fetch what's in the house.
ய: கஸ்²சித்³ க்³ரு’ஹப்ரு’ஷ்டே² திஷ்ட²தி, ஸ க்³ரு’ஹாத் கிமபி வஸ்த்வாநேதும் அதே⁴ நாவரோஹேத்|
18 Anyone who is out in the fields must not go back to get a coat.
யஸ்²ச க்ஷேத்ரே திஷ்ட²தி, ஸோபி வஸ்த்ரமாநேதும்’ பராவ்ரு’த்ய ந யாயாத்|
19 How awful it will be for those who are pregnant, and those who are nursing babies at that time!
ததா³நீம்’ க³ர்பி⁴ணீஸ்தந்யபாயயித்ரீணாம்’ து³ர்க³தி ர்ப⁴விஷ்யதி|
20 Pray that you don't have to run away in winter, or on the Sabbath day.
அதோ யஷ்மாகம்’ பலாயநம்’ ஸீ²தகாலே விஸ்²ராமவாரே வா யந்ந ப⁴வேத், தத³ர்த²ம்’ ப்ரார்த²யத்⁴வம்|
21 For at that time there will be terrible persecution—more terrible than anything that has happened from the beginning of the world up till now, and won't ever happen again.
ஆ ஜக³தா³ரம்பா⁴த்³ ஏதத்காலபர்ய்யநந்தம்’ யாத்³ரு’ஸ²: கதா³பி நாப⁴வத் ந ச ப⁴விஷ்யதி தாத்³ரு’ஸோ² மஹாக்லேஸ²ஸ்ததா³நீம் உபஸ்தா²ஸ்யதி|
22 Unless those days are cut short, nobody will be saved, but for the sake of the chosen those days will be cut short.
தஸ்ய க்லேஸ²ஸ்ய ஸமயோ யதி³ ஹ்ஸ்வோ ந க்ரியேத, தர்ஹி கஸ்யாபி ப்ராணிநோ ரக்ஷணம்’ ப⁴விதும்’ ந ஸ²க்நுயாத், கிந்து மநோநீதமநுஜாநாம்’ க்ரு’தே ஸ காலோ ஹ்ஸ்வீகரிஷ்யதே|
23 So if anyone tells you, ‘Look, here's the Messiah,’ or, ‘There he is,’ don't believe it.
அபரஞ்ச பஸ்²யத, க்²ரீஷ்டோ(அ)த்ர வித்³யதே, வா தத்ர வித்³யதே, ததா³நீம்’ யதீ³ கஸ்²சித்³ யுஷ்மாந இதி வாக்யம்’ வத³தி, ததா²பி தத் ந ப்ரதீத்|
24 For false messiahs will appear, and false prophets too, and they will perform incredible signs and miracles in order to deceive the chosen, if that were possible.
யதோ பா⁴க்தக்²ரீஷ்டா பா⁴க்தப⁴விஷ்யத்³வாதி³நஸ்²ச உபஸ்தா²ய யாநி மஹந்தி லக்ஷ்மாணி சித்ரகர்ம்மாணி ச ப்ரகாஸ²யிஷ்யந்தி, தை ர்யதி³ ஸம்ப⁴வேத் தர்ஹி மநோநீதமாநவா அபி ப்⁴ராமிஷ்யந்தே|
25 Notice that I've told you this before it even happens.
பஸ்²யத, க⁴டநாத: பூர்வ்வம்’ யுஷ்மாந் வார்த்தாம் அவாதி³ஷம்|
26 So if they tell you, ‘Look, he's out in the desert,’ don't go looking there; or if they say, ‘Look, he's secretly here,’ don't believe it.
அத: பஸ்²யத, ஸ ப்ராந்தரே வித்³யத இதி வாக்யே கேநசித் கதி²தேபி ப³ஹி ர்மா க³ச்ச²த, வா பஸ்²யத, ஸோந்த: புரே வித்³யதே, ஏதத்³வாக்ய உக்தேபி மா ப்ரதீத|
27 For the coming of the Son of man will be like the lightning that flashes brightly from east to west.
யதோ யதா² வித்³யுத் பூர்வ்வதி³ஸோ² நிர்க³த்ய பஸ்²சிமதி³ஸ²ம்’ யாவத் ப்ரகாஸ²தே, ததா² மாநுஷபுத்ரஸ்யாப்யாக³மநம்’ ப⁴விஷ்யதி|
28 ‘Vultures gather where the carcass is.’
யத்ர ஸ²வஸ்திஷ்ட²தி, தத்ரேவ க்³ரு’த்⁴ரா மிலந்தி|
29 But right after those days of persecution the sun will be darkened, the moon will not shine, the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of heaven will be shaken.
அபரம்’ தஸ்ய க்லேஸ²ஸமயஸ்யாவ்யவஹிதபரத்ர ஸூர்ய்யஸ்ய தேஜோ லோப்ஸ்யதே, சந்த்³ரமா ஜ்யோஸ்நாம்’ ந கரிஷ்யதி, நப⁴ஸோ நக்ஷத்ராணி பதிஷ்யந்தி, க³க³ணீயா க்³ரஹாஸ்²ச விசலிஷ்யந்தி|
30 Then the sign of the Son of man will appear in heaven, and all the peoples of the earth will mourn. They will see the Son of man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and in brilliant glory.
ததா³நீம் ஆகாஸ²மத்⁴யே மநுஜஸுதஸ்ய லக்ஷ்ம த³ர்ஸி²ஷ்யதே, ததோ நிஜபராக்ரமேண மஹாதேஜஸா ச மேகா⁴ரூட⁴ம்’ மநுஜஸுதம்’ நப⁴ஸாக³ச்ச²ந்தம்’ விலோக்ய ப்ரு’தி²வ்யா: ஸர்வ்வவம்’ஸீ²யா விலபிஷ்யந்தி|
31 With a blast from a trumpet he will send his angels to gather his chosen ones from every place, from one end of heaven and earth to the other.
ததா³நீம்’ ஸ மஹாஸ²ப்³தா³யமாநதூர்ய்யா வாத³காந் நிஜதூ³தாந் ப்ரஹேஷ்யதி, தே வ்யோம்ந ஏகஸீமாதோ(அ)பரஸீமாம்’ யாவத் சதுர்தி³ஸ²ஸ்தஸ்ய மநோநீதஜநாந் ஆநீய மேலயிஷ்யந்தி|
32 Learn an illustration from the fig tree. When its shoots become tender and leaves begin to sprout, you know that summer is coming.
உடு³ம்ப³ரபாத³பஸ்ய த்³ரு’ஷ்டாந்தம்’ ஸி²க்ஷத்⁴வம்’; யதா³ தஸ்ய நவீநா: ஸா²கா² ஜாயந்தே, பல்லவாதி³ஸ்²ச நிர்க³ச்ச²தி, ததா³ நிதா³க⁴கால: ஸவிதோ⁴ ப⁴வதீதி யூயம்’ ஜாநீத²;
33 In the same way when you see all these things happening, you know that his coming is near, in fact it's right at the door!
தத்³வத்³ ஏதா க⁴டநா த்³ரு’ஷ்ட்வா ஸ ஸமயோ த்³வார உபாஸ்தா²த்³ இதி ஜாநீத|
34 I tell you the truth: this generation won't pass away until all these things have happened.
யுஷ்மாநஹம்’ தத்²யம்’ வதா³மி, இதா³நீந்தநஜநாநாம்’ க³மநாத் பூர்வ்வமேவ தாநி ஸர்வ்வாணி க⁴டிஷ்யந்தே|
35 Heaven and earth may pass away, but my words won't pass away.
நபோ⁴மேதி³ந்யோ ர்லுப்தயோரபி மம வாக் கதா³பி ந லோப்ஸ்யதே|
36 But no one knows the day or hour when this will take place, not the angels in heaven, nor the Son. Only the Father knows.
அபரம்’ மம தாதம்’ விநா மாநுஷ: ஸ்வர்க³ஸ்தோ² தூ³தோ வா கோபி தத்³தி³நம்’ தத்³த³ண்ட³ஞ்ச ந ஜ்ஞாபயதி|
37 When the Son of man comes it will be like it was during the time of Noah.
அபரம்’ நோஹே வித்³யமாநே யாத்³ரு’ஸ²மப⁴வத் தாத்³ரு’ஸ²ம்’ மநுஜஸுதஸ்யாக³மநகாலேபி ப⁴விஷ்யதி|
38 It will be as in the days before the flood, when they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, right up until the day that Noah went into the ark.
ப²லதோ ஜலாப்லாவநாத் பூர்வ்வம்’ யத்³தி³நம்’ யாவத் நோஹ: போதம்’ நாரோஹத், தாவத்காலம்’ யதா² மநுஷ்யா போ⁴ஜநே பாநே விவஹநே விவாஹநே ச ப்ரவ்ரு’த்தா ஆஸந்;
39 They didn't realize what was going to happen until the flood came and swept them all away. That's how the coming of the Son of man will be.
அபரம் ஆப்லாவிதோயமாக³த்ய யாவத் ஸகலமநுஜாந் ப்லாவயித்வா நாநயத், தாவத் தே யதா² ந விதா³மாஸு: , ததா² மநுஜஸுதாக³மநேபி ப⁴விஷ்யதி|
40 Two men will be working in the fields. One will be taken, the other left.
ததா³ க்ஷேத்ரஸ்தி²தயோர்த்³வயோரேகோ தா⁴ரிஷ்யதே, அபரஸ்த்யாஜிஷ்யதே|
41 Two women will be grinding grain with a mill. One will be taken, the other left.
ததா² பேஷண்யா பிம்’ஷத்யோருப⁴யோ ர்யோஷிதோரேகா தா⁴ரிஷ்யதே(அ)பரா த்யாஜிஷ்யதே|
42 So stay alert, because you don't know what day your Lord is coming.
யுஷ்மாகம்’ ப்ரபு⁴: கஸ்மிந் த³ண்ட³ ஆக³மிஷ்யதி, தத்³ யுஷ்மாபி⁴ ர்நாவக³ம்யதே, தஸ்மாத் ஜாக்³ரத: ஸந்தஸ்திஷ்ட²த|
43 But consider this: if the house-owner knew what time a thief was coming, he would keep watch. He would not allow his house to be broken into and robbed.
குத்ர யாமே ஸ்தேந ஆக³மிஷ்யதீதி சேத்³ க்³ரு’ஹஸ்தோ² ஜ்ஞாதும் அஸ²க்ஷ்யத், தர்ஹி ஜாக³ரித்வா தம்’ ஸந்தி⁴ம்’ கர்த்திதும் அவாரயிஷ்யத் தத்³ ஜாநீத|
44 You also need to be ready, because the Son of man is coming at a time when you're not expecting him.
யுஷ்மாபி⁴ரவதீ⁴யதாம்’, யதோ யுஷ்மாபி⁴ ர்யத்ர ந பு³த்⁴யதே, தத்ரைவ த³ண்டே³ மநுஜஸுத ஆயாஸ்யதி|
45 For who is the trustworthy and thoughtful servant? It's the one his master puts in charge of his household to provide them with food at the proper time.
ப்ரபு⁴ ர்நிஜபரிவாராந் யதா²காலம்’ போ⁴ஜயிதும்’ யம்’ தா³ஸம் அத்⁴யக்ஷீக்ரு’த்ய ஸ்தா²பயதி, தாத்³ரு’ஸோ² விஸ்²வாஸ்யோ தீ⁴மாந் தா³ஸ: க: ?
46 How good it will be for that servant to be found doing that when his master returns!
ப்ரபு⁴ராக³த்ய யம்’ தா³ஸம்’ ததா²சரந்தம்’ வீக்ஷதே, ஸஏவ த⁴ந்ய: |
47 I tell you the truth: the master will put that servant in charge over everything he has.
யுஷ்மாநஹம்’ ஸத்யம்’ வதா³மி, ஸ தம்’ நிஜஸர்வ்வஸ்வஸ்யாதி⁴பம்’ கரிஷ்யதி|
48 But if he was evil, the servant would say to himself, ‘My master is taking a long time,’
கிந்து ப்ரபு⁴ராக³ந்தும்’ விலம்ப³த இதி மநஸி சிந்தயித்வா யோ து³ஷ்டோ தா³ஸோ
49 and would start beating the other servants, feasting and drinking with the drunks.
(அ)பரதா³ஸாந் ப்ரஹர்த்தும்’ மத்தாநாம்’ ஸங்கே³ போ⁴க்தும்’ பாதுஞ்ச ப்ரவர்த்ததே,
50 Then that servant's master will return when the man doesn't expect him, at a time he doesn't know.
ஸ தா³ஸோ யதா³ நாபேக்ஷதே, யஞ்ச த³ண்ட³ம்’ ந ஜாநாதி, தத்காலஏவ தத்ப்ரபு⁴ருபஸ்தா²ஸ்யதி|
51 He'll cut him to pieces, and treat him in the same way as the hypocrites, sending him to a place where there's crying and gnashing of teeth.
ததா³ தம்’ த³ண்ட³யித்வா யத்ர ஸ்தா²நே ரோத³நம்’ த³ந்தக⁴ர்ஷணஞ்சாஸாதே, தத்ர கபடிபி⁴: ஸாகம்’ தத்³த³ஸா²ம்’ நிரூபயிஷ்யதி|
