< Matthew 1 >

1 This book is the record of Jesus the Messiah, the son of David, the son of Abraham, beginning with the family line:
PUK en di kan, me Iejuj Krijtuj, me japwilim en Dawid, me japwilim en Apraam, tapi jan ia.
2 Abraham was the father of Isaac; and Isaac the father of Jacob; and Jacob the father of Judah and his brothers;

6 and Jesse the father of King David. David was the father of Solomon (his mother had been Uriah's wife);
A Ieje me wiadar nanmarki Dawid, a Dawid me wiadar Jalomo ren li odi en Uriaj;
7 and Solomon the father of Rehoboam; and Rehoboam the father of Abijah; and Abijah the father of Asa;
A Jalomo me wiadar Reapeam, a Reapeam me wiadar Apia, a Apia me wiadar Aja;

10 and Hezekiah the father of Manasseh; and Manasseh the father of Amon; and Amon the father of Josiah;
A Ijkia me wiadar Manaje, a Manaje me wiadar Amon, a Amon me wiadar Iojia;
11 and Josiah the father of Jehoiachin and his brothers, at the time of the exile to Babylon.
A lojia me wiadar Iekonia o ri a ol akan ni anjaun arail jalilan Papilon.
12 After the exile to Babylon, Jehoiachin was the father of Shealtiel; and Shealtiel the father of Zerubbabel;
Murin arail jalidi nan Papilon Iekonia me wiadar Jealtiel, a Jealtiel me wiadar Jerupapel;

16 and Jacob was the father of Joseph, who was the husband of Mary, to whom Jesus was born, the one who is called the Messiah.
A Iakop me wiadar Iojep, me likondeki Maria, me kaipwiedi Iejuj, me maraneki Krijtuj.
17 So all the generations from Abraham to David add up to fourteen; from David to the Babylonian exile, fourteen; and from the Babylonian exile to the Messiah, fourteen.
Di karoj jan ren Apraam lei Dawid me eijokpaieu; a jan Dawid lei arail jalidi nan Papilon di eijokpaieu; a jan arail jalidi nan Papilon lei Krijtuj di eijokpaieu.
18 This is how the birth of Jesus the Messiah happened. His mother, Mary, was engaged to Joseph, but before they slept together she became pregnant by the Holy Spirit.
Nan iet duen Krijtuj a kotin ipwidier: Ni anjau me in a Maria kijin nin on Iojep, a diarokadar, me a lijeanekier Nen jaraui mon ara tu pena.
19 Joseph, her fiancé, was a good man and didn't want to shame her publicly, so he decided to break the engagement discreetly.
A a warok Iojep ol pun amen, ap jota men kanamenokala i, ap kupukupura, en rir muei jan i.
20 While he was thinking about all of this, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and told him, “Joseph, son of David, don't be afraid to marry Mary because she is pregnant by the Holy Spirit.
A ni a kotin madamadaue duen mepukat, kilan, tounlan en Kaun o pwara don i ni a aliman masani: lojep nain Dawin I koe, der majak, en ale om wurok Maria, pwe Nen jaraui me a liean kidar.
21 She will give birth to a son and you shall call him Jesus, for he will save people from their sins.”
A pan kaipwiedi jeri ol amen, mo koe pan ki on mar a lejuj, pwe a pan dorela japwilim a aramaj akan jan nin dip arail.
22 (Now this all happened to fulfill what the Lord said through the prophet:
Mepukat karoj wiauier, pwen pwaida me lokido jan Kaun ren jaukop o, me majani:
23 “A virgin will become pregnant, and will give birth to a son. They will call him Immanuel,” which means “God with us.”)
Kilan jeripein makelekel o pan lijeanda, ap kaipwiedi jeri ol amen, irail ari pan ki on mar aImanuel; iet wewe: Kot me kotin ioian kitail.
24 Joseph woke up and did what the angel of the Lord told him to do.
lojep lao pirida jan a jaimok, ap kapwaiadar, me tounlan on Kaun o kotin kakalik on i o apapwali a likond.
25 Joseph married Mary, but did not sleep with her until after she had given birth to a son, whom he named Jesus.
A ap jota pweidi re a, lao a kaipwiedier japwilim a mejeni ol, ap kotiki on mar a lejuj.
