Malachi 1
1 A prophecy: This message came from the Lord concerning Israel through Malachi.
Profeta vorto de la Eternulo al Izrael per Malaĥi.
2 I have loved you, says the Lord. But you ask, “How have you loved us?” Wasn't Esau Joseph's brother? the Lord responds. But I loved Joseph
Mi ekamis vin, diras la Eternulo. Vi demandas: En kio Vi nin ekamis? Ĉu Esav ne estas frato de Jakob? diras la Eternulo; tamen Mi ekamis Jakobon,
3 and despised Esau. I have made Esau's mountain homeland into a wasteland, and turned his inheritance into a desert for jackals.
kaj Esavon mi malamis, kaj Mi dezertigis liajn montojn, kaj lian posedaĵon Mi donis al la ŝakaloj de la dezerto.
4 The people of Edom may be saying: “We have been beaten down, but we will rebuild the ruins.” But this is what the Lord Almighty says, They may try and build, but I will tear down. They will be called a land of wickedness, and the people those who make the Lord angry forever.
Se la Edomidoj diras: Ni estas ruinigitaj, sed ni revenos kaj rekonstruos la ruinojn — la Eternulo Cebaot diras tiele: Ili konstruos, kaj Mi detruos, kaj oni nomos ilin lando de malpieco, kaj popolo, kontraŭ kiu la Eternulo koleras eterne.
5 You will see this destruction with your own eyes, and you will say, “The Lord is great, even beyond the borders of Israel.”
Viaj okuloj tion vidos, kaj vi diros: Granda estas la Eternulo super la limoj de Izrael.
6 A son honors his father, and a servant respects his master. So if I am your father, where is my honor? If I am your master, where is my respect? says the Lord Almighty to you priests who show contempt for me. But you ask, “How have we shown contempt for you?”
Filo respektas patron, kaj sklavo sian sinjoron; sed se Mi estas patro, kie estas la respekto al Mi? kaj se Mi estas sinjoro, kie estas la timo antaŭ Mi? diras la Eternulo Cebaot al vi, ho pastroj, kiuj malhonoras Mian nomon. Kaj vi diras: Per kio ni malhonoras Vian nomon?
7 By making defiled offerings on my altar. Then you ask, “How have we defiled you?” By saying the Lord's table doesn't deserve respect.
Vi alportas sur Mian altaron panon malpuran, kaj tamen vi diras: Per kio ni malpuriĝis antaŭ Vi? Per tio, ke vi diras: La tablo de la Eternulo estas senvalora.
8 When you offer a blind animal as a sacrifice, isn't that wrong? Or when you offer an animal that is crippled or sick, isn't that wrong? Would you give such gifts to your governor? Would he be pleased with you? Would he be kind and show favor to you? asks the Lord Almighty.
Kaj kiam vi alportas oferon blindan, ĉu tio ne estas malbona? aŭ kiam vi alportas laman aŭ malsanan, ĉu tio ne estas malbona? Provu alporti ĝin al via regionestro — ĉu vi tiam plaĉos al li, kaj ĉu li akceptos vin favore? diras la Eternulo Cebaot.
9 So why don't you try being kind to God, begging him to be merciful to you? But when you bring such offerings, why should he show favor to you? asks the Lord Almighty.
Preĝu de nun al Dio, ke Li indulgu nin; se tio estas farita de viaj manoj, ĉu Li povas favore akcepti vin? diras la Eternulo Cebaot.
10 I really wish one of you would shut the Temple doors to stop you lighting pointless fires on my altar! I am not pleased with you, says the Lord Almighty, and I will not accept offerings from you.
Estus bone, se iu el vi ŝlosus la pordon, por ke vi ne bruligu vane fajron sur Mia altaro. Vi ne estas agrablaj al Mi, diras la Eternulo Cebaot; kaj donacon el via mano Mi ne akceptos favore.
11 I am honored by nations from the farthest east to the distant west; everywhere people make offerings to me of incense and pure sacrifices. I am honored among the nations, says the Lord Almighty.
Ĉar de la sunleviĝejo ĝis la sunsubirejo Mia nomo estos granda inter la nacioj, kaj sur ĉiu loko oni incensos kaj alportos oferojn al Mia nomo, oferojn purajn; ĉar granda estos Mia nomo inter la nacioj, diras la Eternulo Cebaot.
12 But you dishonor me when you say the Lord's table doesn't deserve respect, and that its food can be treated with contempt.
Sed vi malhonoras ĝin per tio, ke vi diras: La tablo de la Eternulo estas malsankta, kaj la manĝaĵo sur ĝi estas senvalora.
13 You say, “All this is too much trouble!” and you sniff scornfully at it, says the Lord Almighty. But when you bring animals that are stolen or crippled or sick and offer them as sacrifices, should I accept what you're giving? asks the Lord.
Kaj vi diras: Tio estas nur klopodoj! Kaj vi malŝatas tion, diras la Eternulo Cebaot, kaj vi alportas tion, kio estas ŝtelita, lama, aŭ malsana, kaj vi alportas ankaŭ tiaspecan farunoferon. Ĉu Mi povas favore akcepti tion el via mano? diras la Eternulo.
14 Cursed are those who cheat by vowing to bring a ram as a sacrifice and then offers an imperfect animal to the Lord. For I am a great King, says the Lord Almighty, and I am respected among the nations!
Malbenata estu la hipokritulo, kiu havas en sia brutaro sendifektan virbruton, sed, farinte sanktan promeson, li alportas ofere al la Sinjoro kriplaĵon; ĉar Mi estas Reĝo granda, diras la Eternulo Cebaot, kaj Mia nomo estas timata inter la nacioj.
