Malachi 2
1 Now this command is for you priests!
Und nun, ihr Priester, an euch ergeht dieses Gebot!
2 If you will not listen and if you will not take it to heart to honor me, says the Lord Almighty, then I will place a curse on you and I will curse your blessings—in fact I have already cursed them because you haven't taken what I said to heart.
Wenn ihr nicht höret, und wenn ihr es nicht zu Herzen nehmet, meinem Namen Ehre zu geben, spricht Jehova der Heerscharen, so werde ich den Fluch unter euch senden, und eure Segnungen verfluchen; ja, ich habe sie auch verflucht, weil ihr es nicht zu Herzen nehmet.
3 Watch out! I am going to penalize your descendants. I will spread manure on your faces from the animals you sacrifice, the manure from your religious festivals, and you will be thrown out with it.
Siehe, ich schelte euch die Saat und streue euch Mist in das Angesicht, den Mist eurer Feste, und man wird euch zu ihm hintragen.
4 Then you will know that I sent you this command so that my agreement with Levi can continue, says the Lord Almighty.
Und ihr werdet wissen, daß ich dieses Gebot an euch gesandt habe, damit mein Bund mit Levi sei, spricht Jehova der Heerscharen.
5 My agreement with him was one of life and peace, which I gave to him, and respect—he respected me. He stood in awe of me.
Mein Bund mit ihm war das Leben und der Friede; und ich gab sie ihm zur Furcht, und er fürchtete mich, und er, er zitterte vor meinem Namen.
6 He taught the people the truth; nothing in his teaching was false. He walked with me in peace and did what was right, and he helped many to turn way from sin.
Das Gesetz der Wahrheit war in seinem Munde, und Unrecht fand sich nicht auf seinen Lippen; er wandelte mit mir in Frieden und Geradheit, und viele brachte er von ihrer Ungerechtigkeit zurück.
7 A priest should explain the truth about God, they should go to him to be taught, for he is the Lord Almighty's messenger.
Denn die Lippen des Priesters sollen Erkenntnis bewahren, und das Gesetz sucht man aus seinem Munde, denn er ist ein Bote Jehovas der Heerscharen.
8 But you have turned from my way. You have made many people to fall into sin. By your teaching you have broken the agreement with Levi, says the Lord Almighty.
Ihr aber seid abgewichen von dem Wege, habt viele straucheln gemacht im Gesetz, ihr habt den Bund Levis zerstört, spricht Jehova der Heerscharen.
9 So I have destroyed any respect you had, and humiliated you before all the people. For you have not kept my ways, and have shown favoritism in what you teach.
So habe auch ich euch bei dem ganzen Volke verächtlich und niedrig gemacht, in demselben Maße, wie ihr meine Wege nicht bewahret und die Person ansehet beim Gesetz.
10 Don't we all have one Father? Didn't one God create us? So why are we unfaithful to each other, violating the agreement made by our forefathers?
Haben wir nicht alle einen Vater? Hat nicht ein Gott uns geschaffen? Warum handeln wir treulos einer gegen den anderen, indem wir den Bund unserer Väter entweihen?
11 The people of Judah have been unfaithful and have committed a disgusting sin in Israel and Jerusalem. For the men of Judah have defiled the Lord's Temple (which he loves) by marrying women who worship idols.
Juda hat treulos gehandelt, und ein Greuel ist verübt worden in Israel und in Jerusalem; denn Juda hat das Heiligtum Jehovas entweiht, welches er liebte, und ist mit der Tochter eines fremden Gottes vermählt.
12 May the Lord expel the family of any man who does this from the nation of Israel! May there be no one left to bring an offering to the Lord Almighty!
Jehova wird den Mann, der solches tut, aus den Zelten Jakobs ausrotten, den wachenden und den, der einen Laut von sich gibt, und den, welcher Jehova der Heerscharen eine Opfergabe darbringt.
13 Something else you do is to pour out your tears on the Lord's altar weeping and moaning because he no longer pays attention to your offerings or doesn't want to accept them.
Und zweitens tut ihr dieses: Ihr bedecket den Altar Jehovas mit Tränen, mit Weinen und Seufzen, so daß er sich nicht mehr zu eurer Opfergabe wendet, noch Wohlgefälliges aus eurer Hand annimmt.
14 “Why not?” you ask. Because the Lord witnessed the vows you and your wife exchanged when you were young. You were unfaithful to her, your wife and partner joined to you by marriage contract.
Und ihr sprechet: Warum? Weil Jehova Zeuge gewesen ist zwischen dir und dem Weibe deiner Jugend, an welchem du treulos gehandelt hast, da sie doch deine Genossin und das Weib deines Bundes ist.
15 Did he not make you one, and give some of his Spirit to you? And what does he want? Children of God. So watch what you do, and don't be unfaithful to the wife you married when you were young.
Und hat nicht einer sie gemacht? Und sein war der Überrest des Geistes. Und was wollte der eine? Er suchte einen Samen Gottes. So hütet euch in eurem Geiste, und handle nicht treulos gegen das Weib deiner Jugend!
16 For I hate divorce, says the Lord God of Israel, for it's a violent attack on the wife, says the Lord Almighty. So watch what you do, and don't be unfaithful.
Denn ich hasse Entlassung, spricht Jehova, der Gott Israels; und er bedeckt mit Gewalttat sein Gewand, spricht Jehova der Heerscharen. So hütet euch in eurem Geiste, daß ihr nicht treulos handelt!
17 You have worn the Lord out with your words. “How have we worn him out?” you ask. By saying everyone who does evil is good in the sight of the Lord and he is happy with them, or by asking, where is the Lord's justice?
Ihr habt Jehova mit euren Worten ermüdet; und ihr sprechet: Womit haben wir ihn ermüdet? Damit, daß ihr saget: Jeder Übeltäter ist gut in den Augen Jehovas, und an ihnen hat er Gefallen; oder wo ist der Gott des Gerichts?
