Leviticus 12
1 The Lord told Moses, “Give these instructions to the Israelites.
Og Herren talte til Moses og sa:
2 Any woman who becomes pregnant and has a boy, she will be unclean for one week, in the same way that she is unclean during her period.
Tal til Israels barn og si: Når en kvinne får barn og føder en gutt, så skal hun være uren i syv dager; hun skal være uren like så lenge som hun er uren i sin månedlige svakhet.
3 The boy's foreskin must be circumcised on the eighth day.
Den åttende dag skal hans forhuds kjøtt omskjæres.
4 The woman must wait a further thirty-three days for the purification of her bleeding. She is not allowed to touch anything holy, and she is not allowed to enter the sanctuary until her time of purification is finished.
Derefter skal hun holde sig inne i tre og tretti dager under sitt blods renselse; hun skal ikke røre ved noget hellig og ikke komme til helligdommen før hennes renselses-dager er til ende.
5 If a woman has a daughter, she will be unclean for two weeks, in the same way that she is unclean during her menstrual period. The woman must wait a further sixty-six days for the purification of her blood.
Men føder hun en pike, da skal hun være uren i to uker likesom ved sin månedlige urenhet og holde sig inne i seks og seksti dager under sitt blods renselse.
6 Once the time of purification is finished for either a son or a daughter, the woman must bring a year-old lamb as a burnt offering and a young pigeon or turtledove as a purification offering. She is to bring her offerings to the priest at the entrance of the Tent of Meeting.
Når hennes renselses-dager er til ende, enten det er en sønn eller en datter hun har født, skal hun komme med et årsgammelt lam til brennoffer og en dueunge eller en turteldue til syndoffer og bære det frem til inngangen til sammenkomstens telt, til presten.
7 The priest will then present them to the Lord to purify her so she will be clean from her bleeding. These are the regulations for a woman after she's had a son or a daughter.
Og han skal ofre det for Herrens åsyn og gjøre soning for henne; da blir hun ren efter sin blodflod. Dette er loven for den kvinne som har født, enten barnet er en gutt eller en pike.
8 If a woman can't afford to bring a lamb, she is to bring two turtledoves or two young pigeons. One is for the burnt offering and the other for the purification offering. The priest will offer them to purify her, and she will be clean.”
Men har hun ikke råd til et lam, så skal hun ta to turtelduer eller to dueunger, en til brennoffer og en til syndoffer. Og presten skal gjøre soning for henne; da blir hun ren.
