< Judges 8 >

1 Then the men of Ephraim asked Gideon, “Why have you treated us like this? Why didn't you call us when you went to attack the Midianite?” They argued furiously with him.
Oo raggii reer Efrayim waxay Gidcoon ku yidhaahdeen, War maxaad waxan noogu samaysay, oo aad noogu yeedhi weyday, markaad u soo kacday inaad reer Midyaan la dagaallanto? Oo aad iyo aad bay u canaanteen isagii.
2 “Now what have I achieved in comparison to you?” Gideon replied. “Even Ephraim's left-over grapes are better than Abiezer's whole grape harvest!
Oo isna wuxuu ku yidhi, Haddaba maxaan sameeyey oo u qalma waxaad samayseen? Ururinta dambe oo canabka reer Efrayim sow kama wanaagsana ururinta hore oo canabka reer Abiiceser?
3 God handed over to you Oreb and Zeeb, the two Midianite commanders. What have I managed to achieve in comparison to you?” When he told them this their animosity towards him died down.
Ilaah wuxuu gacanta idiin geliyey amiirradii reer Midyaan oo ahaa Cooreeb iyo Se'eeb; haddaba maxaan samayn karay oo u qalma waxaad samayseen? Oo markuu sidaas ku yidhi ayaa ciilkay u qabeen ka baxay.
4 Then Gideon crossed the Jordan with his three hundred men. Even though they were exhausted they continued the chase.
Markaasay Gidcoon iyo saddexdii boqol oo nin ee la socotay isaga yimaadeen Webi Urdun, wayna ka gudbeen, oo in kastoo ay daalanaayeen weliba wax bay eryoonayeen.
5 When they got to Succoth, Gideon asked the people there, “Please provide some bread to the men with me because they're worn out—I'm pursuing Zebah and Zalmunna, the Midianite kings.”
Markaasuu dadkii reer Sukod ku yidhi, Waan idin baryayaaye, dadka ila socda kibis siiya, waayo, way daalan yihiin, oo anna waxaan eryoonayaa boqorrada reer Midyaan oo ah Sebah iyo Salmunnac.
6 But the Succoth town leaders replied, “Why should we give your army bread when you haven't even captured Zebah and Zalmunna yet?”
Markaasaa amiirradii reer Sukod waxay ku yidhaahdeen, Sebah iyo Salmunnac miyey haatan gacantaada ku jiraan aannu colkaaga cunto siinnee?
7 “In that case, once the Lord has handed Zebah and Zalmunna over to me, I'll return and thrash you with thorns and briers from the desert!” Gideon replied.
Markaasaa Gidcoon wuxuu yidhi, Waa hagaag ee markii Rabbigu ii soo gacangeliyo Sebah iyo Salmunnac ayaan hilibkiinna ku jeexjeexi doonaa qodxanta cidlada iyo gocondhada.
8 He left and went to Penuel and asked them the same thing, but the people of Penuel answered the same way as the people of Succoth.
Markaasuu intuu halkaas ka tegey ayuu u kacay xagga reer Fenuu'eel, sidii oo kaluu ku yidhi; oo raggii reer Fenuu'eel waxay ugu jawaabeen sidii ay reer Sukod ugu jawaabeen oo kale.
9 So he told them, “When I return victorious, I'll demolish this tower!”
Kolkaasuu haddana wuxuu la hadlay raggii reer Fenuu'eel oo wuxuu ku yidhi, Markaan soo nabad noqdo ayaan dumin doonaa munaaraddan.
10 Zebah and Zalmunna were in Karkor with their armies of around fifteen thousand men. These were all who remained of the armies of the people of the East—one hundred and twenty thousand swordsmen had already been killed.
Haddaba Sebah iyo Salmunnac waxay joogeen Qarqor, iyaga iyo ciidammadoodii, oo waxay ku dhowaayeen shan iyo toban kun oo nin, oo intaasuna waxay ahayd intii ka hadhay ciidankii reer bariga oo dhan; waayo, waxaa ka la'day boqol iyo labaatan kun oo nin oo seefqaad ah.
11 Gideon took the caravan route to the east of Nobah and Jogbehah, and he attacked their army, catching them offguard.
Kolkaasaa Gidcoon u kacay xagga kuwii teendhooyinka degganaa oo ku jiray meel bari ka xigta Nobax iyo Yaagbehaah, oo wuxuu laayay ciidankii, maxaa yeelay, ciidanku nabad buu u fadhiyey.
12 Zebah and Zalmunna ran away, but he chased after the two Midianite kings and captured them, defeating the whole of their terrified army.
Oo Sebah iyo Salmunnac way carareen, oo isna wuu eryooday, wuuna soo qabsaday labadii boqor oo reer Midyaan oo ahaa Sebah iyo Salmunnac, oo ciidankii oo dhanna wuu ka nixiyey.
13 Then Gideon, son of Joash, returned from the battle through the Heres Pass.
Oo Gidcoon ina Yoo'aash wuxuu dagaalkii kaga soo noqday jiirtii Xeres.
14 There he captured a young man from Succoth and questioned him. The man wrote down for him the names of the seventy-seven leaders and elders of Succoth.
Markaasuu wuxuu qabtay nin dhallinyar oo reer Sukod ah, oo wax weyddiiyey; oo isna wuxuu u tilmaamay amiirradii reer Sukod iyo odayaashoodii, oo waxayna ahaayeen toddoba iyo toddobaatan nin.
15 Gideon went and said to the Sukkoth town leaders, “Here are Zebah and Zalmunna, the ones you taunted me about when you said, ‘Why should we give your exhausted army bread when you haven't even captured Zebah and Zalmunna yet?’”
Markaasuu wuxuu u yimid raggii reer Sukod, oo wuxuuna ku yidhi, Bal eega Sebah iyo Salmunnac, kuwii aad daraaddood iigu majaajilooteen oo aad igu tidhaahdeen, Sebah iyo Salmunnac miyey haatan gacantaada ku jiraan, aannu raggaaga daalan cunto siinnee?
16 So he took the town elders of Succoth and taught them a lesson using thorns and briers from the desert.
Markaasuu kaxaystay odayaashii magaalada, oo wuxuu qaaday qodxantii cidlada iyo gocondho, wuuna ku edbiyey dadkii reer Sukod.
17 He also demolished the tower of Peniel and killed the men of the town.
Oo munaaraddii Fenuu'eelna wuu dumiyey, dadkii magaaladana wuu laayay.
18 Then Gideon asked Zebah and Zalmunna, “What were they like, the men you killed at Tabor?” “They looked like you,” they answered. “Each of them had the stature of a prince.”
Kolkaasuu Sebah iyo Salmunnac ku yidhi, Raggii aad Taaboor ku layseen siday ahaayeen? Oo iyana waxay ugu jawaabeen, Waxay ahaayeen sidaadoo kale; oo mid waluba wuxuu u ekaa ilmo boqor oo kale.
19 “Those were my brothers, my mother's sons,” Gideon burst out. “As the Lord lives, if you had let them live, I wouldn't kill you!”
Isna wuxuu yidhi, Waxay ahaayeen walaalahay oo ah wiilashii hooyaday; oo haddii aad iyagoo nool bixin lahaydeen, Rabbiga nool baan ku dhaartaye, idinma aan laayeen.
20 He told Jether, his oldest son, “Go on, kill them!” But the boy refused to draw his sword, because he was young and afraid.
Markaasuu curadkiisii Yeter ku yidhi, Kac oo laa iyaga. Laakiinse wiilkii seeftiisii lama uu soo bixin; maxaa yeelay, wuu baqay, waayo, weli wuu yaraa.
21 Zebah and Zalmunna said to Gideon, “Come on, you do it! Show yourself a man and kill us!” So Gideon went over and killed Zebah and Zalmunna, and he took the crescent-shaped ornaments from the necks of their camels.
Markaasaa Sebah iyo Salmunnac waxay ku yidhaahdeen, War adigu kac oo na laa; waayo, nin waluba siduu yahay ayaa xooggiisuna yahay. Markaasaa Gidcoon kacay oo laayay Sebah iyo Salmunnac, oo wuxuu qaatay bilihii ku xidhnaa qoorta awrtooda.
22 Then the Israelites said to Gideon, “You must become our ruler, you, your son, and your grandson; because you've saved us from the Midianites.”
Markaasaa dadkii reer binu Israa'iil waxay Gidcoon ku yidhaahdeen, Haddaba noo tali, adiga iyo wiilkaaga, iyo wiilkaaga wiilkiisuba; maxaa yeelay, waad naga badbaadisay gacantii reer Midyaan.
23 “I won't be your ruler, and my son won't either,” Gideon replied. “The Lord will be your ruler.”
Kolkaasaa Gidcoon wuxuu ku yidhi, Anigu idiinma talin doono, wiilkayguna idiinma talin doono; laakiinse Rabbigaa idiin talin doona.
24 Then Gideon said, “I have a request to ask of you: that each of you give me an earring from your plunder.” (Their enemies were Ishmaelites and wore gold earrings.)
Oo haddana Gidcoon wuxuu ku yidhi, Waxaan idin weyddiisan lahaa in ninkiin waluba i siiyo hilqadihii uu boolida u helay. (Waxay haysteen hilqado dahab ah, maxaa yeelay, waxay ahaayeen reer Ismaaciil).
25 “We'll happily give them to you,” they replied. They spread out a cloak, and each of them threw on it earrings from their plunder.
Oo waxay ugu jawaabeen, Annagoo raalli ka ah ayaannu ku siinaynaa. Kolkaasay maro gogleen, oo nin kastaaba wuxuu ku tuuray hilqadihii uu boolida u helay.
26 The weight of the earrings he'd asked for was 1,700 shekels, not including the ornaments, the pendants, and the purple garments worn by the Midianite kings or the chains that were round their camels' necks.
Oo hilqadihii dahabka ahaa oo uu weyddiistay miisaankoodii wuxuu noqday kun iyo toddoba boqol oo sheqel oo dahab ah, intaasoo aanay ku jirin bilihii, iyo murriyadihii, iyo dharkii guduudnaa oo ay boqorradii reer Midyaan xidhnaayeen, iyo silsiladihii sudhnaa qoorta awrtooda.
27 From the gold Gideon made an ephod, which he placed in his hometown of Ophrah. All Israel prostituted themselves there by worshiping it as an idol, and it became a trap to Gideon and his family.
Markaasaa Gidcoon wuxuu dahabkii ka sameeyey eefod, oo wuxuu dhigay magaaladiisii taasoo ahayd Coofraah; oo reer binu Israa'iil oo dhammuna way wada raaceen sidii naag ninkeedii ka dhillowday, markaasuu dabin ku noqday Gidcoon iyo reerkiisiiba.
28 This is how the Midianites was subjugated before the Israelites and did not gain power again. So the land was at peace for forty years during the lifetime of Gideon.
Sidaasaa reer Midyaan loo hoosaysiiyey reer binu Israa'iil hortooda, oo mar dambena madaxooda kor uma ay qaadin. Oo wakhtigii Gidcoon dalku wuxuu nastay afartan sannadood.
29 Jerub-baal, son of Joash, went home, living his own house.
Markaasaa wiilkii Yoo'aash, oo Yerubbacal ahaa intuu tegey ayuu iska degay gurigiisii.
30 Gideon had seventy sons, all his own, because he had many wives.
Oo Gidcoon wuxuu lahaa toddobaatan wiil oo uu isagu dhalay, waayo, wuxuu qabay naago badan.
31 His concubine, who lived in Shechem, also had a son. He named him Abimelech.
Oo naagtiisii addoonta ahayd oo degganayd Shekem, iyana wiil bay u dhashay, oo wuxuu magiciisii u bixiyey Abiimeleg.
32 Gideon, son of Joash, died at a good old age and was buried in the tomb of his father Joash, in Ophrah of the Abiezrites.
Oo Gidcoon ina Yoo'aash ayaa dhintay isagoo da' weyn, oo waxaa lagu aasay xabaashii aabbihiis Yoo'aash, oo ku tiil Coofraah tii reer Abiiceser.
33 But as soon as Gideon died, the Israelites went back to prostituting themselves, worshiping before the Baals. They made Baal-berith their god.
Oo isla markii Gidcoon dhintay ayay reer binu Israa'iil haddana noqdeen, oo Bacaliimkii raaceen sidii naag ninkeedii ka dhillowday, oo Bacal Beriidna ilaahoodii bay ka dhigteen.
34 They forgot about the Lord their God, who had saved them from all their enemies that surrounded them.
Oo reer binu Israa'iilna ma ay xusuusan Rabbiga Ilaahood ahaa, oo ka samatabbixiyey cadaawayaashoodii dhan kasta ka xigay oo dhan;
35 They did not show any respect to the family of Jerub-baal (Gideon) for all the good he had done for Israel.
raxmadna ma ay tusin reerkii Yerubbacal, kaasoo ahaa Gidcoon, siduu wanaagga oo dhan ugu sameeyey reer binu Israa'iil.
