< Judges 10 >

1 After Abimelech's time, Tola, son of Puah, son of Dodo, from the tribe of Issachar, came on the scene to save Israel. He lived in the town of Shamir, in the hill country of Ephraim.
A MAHOPE iho o Abimeleka, ku mai o Tola, ke keiki a Pua, ke keiki a Dodo, he kanaka no ka Isakara, nana i hoola i ka Iseraela. A noho no ia ma Samira, ma ka mauna o Eperaima.
2 He led Israel as a judge for twenty-three years. Then he died and was buried in Shamir.
Nana i hooponopono i ka Iseraela, he iwakaluakumamakolu makahiki, a make ia, kanuia iho la ia ma Samira.
3 After Tola came Jair from Gilead, who led Israel as a judge for twenty-two years.
Mahope iho ona, ku mai o Iaira, he kanaka no Gileada, nana i hooponopono i ka Iseraela, he iwakaluakumamalua makahiki.
4 He had thirty sons who rode thirty donkeys. They had thirty towns in the land of Gilead, which to this day are called the Towns of Jair.
He kanakolu ana mau keikikane, a holo lakou maluna o na hoki keiki, he kanakolu; he kanakolu ko lakou poe kulanakauhale, i kapaia Havote-iaira, a hiki mai i neia la; aia no ma ka aina o Gileada.
5 Jair died and he was buried in Kamon.
Make iho la o Iaira, a kanuia iho la ma Kamona.
6 Once again the Israelites did what was evil in the Lord's sight. They worshiped the Baals and the Ashtoreths, as well as the gods of Aram, Sidon, and Moab, and the gods of the Ammonites and Philistines. They rejected the Lord and did not worship him.
Hana hewa hou aku la na mamo a Iseraela, imua o Iehova, a malama aku la i na Baala, a me na Asetarota, a me na'kua o Suria, a me na'kua o Sidona, a me na'kua o Moaba, a me na'kua o na mamo a Amora, a me na'kua o ko Pilisetia, a haalele ia Iehova, aole i malama ia ia.
7 So the Lord became angry with Israel, and he sold them to the Philistines and the Ammonites.
Wela iho la ka huhu o Iehova i ka Iseraela, a hoolilo aku la ia lakou i ka lima o ko Pilisetia, a i ka lima o na mamo a Amona.
8 That year and for eighteen more years they harassed and oppressed the Israelites, all the Israelites that lived on the east side of the Jordan in Gilead, the land of the Amorites.
9 The Ammonites also crossed the Jordan to attack Judah, Benjamin, and Ephraim, causing terrible trouble for Israel.
Hele ae no hoi na mamo a Amona i kela aoao o Ioredane, a kaua ae la i ka Iuda, a i ka Beniamina, a i ko ka hale a Eperaima; no ia mea, kaumaha loa ka Iseraela.
10 The Israelites cried out to the Lord for help, saying, “We have sinned against you, rejecting our God and worshiping the Baals.”
Hea aku la na mamo a Iseraela ia Iehova, i aku la, Ua hana hewa makou ia oe, no ka mea, ua haalele makou i ko makou Akua, a ua malama i na Baala.
11 The Lord replied to the Israelites, “Didn't I save you from the Egyptians, the Amorites, the Ammonites, the Philistines,
I mai la o Iehova i na mamo a Iseraela, Aole anei na'u oukou i hoopakele, mai ko Aigupita mai? a mai ka Amora mai, a mai na mamo a Amona mai, a mai ko Pilisetia mai?
12 the Sidonians, the Amalekites, and the Maonites? When they attacked you, and you cried out to me for help, didn't I save you from them?
Hookaumaha mai no hoi o ko Zidona ia oukou, a me ka Ameleka, a me ka Maona, a hea mai oukou ia'u, a hoola mai au ia oukou; mai ko lakou lima mai.
13 But you have rejected me and worshiped other gods, so I won't save you again.
Aka, ua haalele oukou ia'u, a ua malama i na'kua e; nolaila, aole au e hoola hou ia oukou.
14 Go and cry out for help to the gods you have chosen. Let them save you in your time of trouble.”
E hele oukou, e hea aku i na'kua a oukou i koho ai; na lakou e hoola mai ia oukou, i ka manawa o ko oukou kaumaha.
15 The Israelites said to the Lord, “We have sinned! Treat us in whatever way you think you should, only please save us now!”
I aku la na mamo o Iseraela ia Iehova, Ua hana hewa makou, o ka mea i pono i kou mau maka, pela oe e hana mai ai ia makou. Ke noi aku nei makou ia oe, e hoola mai ia makou i keia la wale no.
16 So they got rid of the foreign gods they had and worshiped the Lord. And the Lord couldn't stand Israel's misery any longer.
Kiola aku la lakou i na'kua e, mai o lakou aku, a malama iho la ia Iehova; a menemene iho la kona uhane, no ke kaumaha nui o ka Iseraela.
17 The Ammonite armies had been called up and were camped in Gilead. The Israelites assembled and camped at Mizpah.
Akoakoa mai la na mamo a Amona, a hoomoana iho la ma Gileada; a akoakoa mai la na mamo a Iseraela, a hoomoana iho la ma Mizepa.
18 The commanders of the people of Gilead agreed among themselves, “Whoever leads the attack on the Ammonites will become ruler over everyone who lives in Gilead.”
I ae la na kanaka, ka poe luna o Gileada hoi, kekahi i kekahi, Owai ke kanaka e hoomaka i ke kaua aku i na mamo a Amona? E lilo ia i luna maluna o na kanaka a pau o Gileada.
