Judges 1
1 After Joshua died, the Israelites asked the Lord, “Which tribe from among us should go first and attack the Canaanites?”
১যিহোচূৱাৰ মৃত্যুৰ পাছত ইস্ৰায়েলৰ সন্তান সকলে যিহোৱাক সুধিলে, “কনানীয়াসকলৰ বিপক্ষে আমি যেতিয়া যুদ্ধ কৰিবলৈ উপত্যকাৰ ওপৰলৈ যাম, তেতিয়া আমাৰ হৈ যুদ্ধ কৰিবলৈ কোনে প্রথমে তেওঁলোকক আক্রমণ কৰিব?”
2 “Judah is to go first,” the Lord replied. “I have handed the land over to them.”
২উত্তৰত যিহোৱাই ক’লে, “প্রথমে যিহূদা ফৈদৰ লোকসকল যাব; চোৱা, মই তেওঁলোকৰ হাততে এই দেশ সমৰ্পণ কৰিলোঁ।”
3 The men of Judah said to their relatives of the tribe of Simeon, “Come with us to the land that has been allotted to us, and fight together with us against the Canaanites. Then we'll do the same for you and your allotted land.” So the tribe of Simeon joined with them.
৩এই কথা শুনাৰ পাছত যিহূদা বংশৰ লোক সকলে গৈ চিমিয়োন ফৈদৰ তেওঁলোকৰ ভাইসকলক ক’লে, “যি ঠাই আমাৰ ভাগত পৰিছে, সেই অঞ্চলত থকা কনানীয়াসকলৰ অহিতে যুদ্ধ কৰিবৰ বাবে তোমালোকো আমাৰ সৈতে আহাঁ, তেতিয়া আমি একেলগে মিলি যুদ্ধ কৰিব পাৰিম আৰু পাছত সেইদৰে আমিও তোমালোকৰ অঞ্চল দখল কৰিবৰ বাবে তোমালোকৰ লগত যুদ্ধলৈ যাম।” তেতিয়া চিমিয়োন ফৈদৰ লোকসকল তেওঁলোকৰ লগত গ’ল।
4 The men of Judah attacked the Canaanites and Perizzites, and the Lord handed them over in defeat. They killed ten thousand of the enemy at the town of Bezek.
৪যিহূদা বংশৰ লোকসকল ওপৰলৈ উঠি গৈ আক্রমণ কৰাত যিহোৱাই কনানীয়া আৰু পৰিজ্জীয়াসকলৰ ওপৰত তেওঁলোকক জয়ী কৰিলে। তেওঁলোকৰ দহ হাজাৰ সৈন্যক তেওঁলোকে বেজক অঞ্চলত বধ কৰিলে।
5 There they confronted Adoni-bezek and fought with him, defeating the Canaanites and Perizzites.
৫বেজকত তেওঁলোকে অদুনী বেজকক দেখা পাই তেওঁৰ সৈতে যুদ্ধ কৰিলে আৰু কনানীয়া ও পৰিজ্জীয়াসকলক পৰাস্ত কৰিলে।
6 Adoni-bezek ran away, but they chased after him and captured him, and then cut off his thumbs and big toes.
৬কিন্তু অদুনী-বেজক যেতিয়া পলাই গৈছিল, তেতিয়া তেওঁলোকে পাছে পাছে খেদি গৈ তেওঁক ধৰি তেওঁৰ হাত আৰু ভৰিৰ বুঢ়া আঙুলি কাটি পেলালে।
7 Adoni-bezek said, “I had seventy kings with their thumbs and big toes cut off picking up left-overs from under my table. Now God has paid me back in the same way what I did to them.” They took him to Jerusalem where he died.
৭তাতে অদুনী-বেজকে ক’লে, “মই সত্তৰজন ৰজাৰ হাত আৰু ভৰিৰ বুঢ়া আঙুলি কাটি পেলাইছিলোঁ। তেওঁলোকে মোৰ মেজৰ তলত পৰা আহাৰ বুটলি খাইছিল। মই তেওঁলোকৰ প্রতি যেনে কার্য কৰিলোঁ, ঈশ্বৰেও মোলৈ তেনে কৰিলে।” পাছত তেওঁলোকে অদুনী-বেজকক যিৰূচালেমলৈ আনিলে আৰু তেওঁৰ সেই ঠাইতে মৃত্যু হ’ল।
8 The men of Judah attacked Jerusalem and conquered it. They killed the inhabitants with the sword and burned the town down.
৮যিহূদা বংশৰ লোকসকলে যিৰূচালেম আক্রমণ কৰি, সেই ঠাই অধিকাৰ কৰিলে। তেওঁলোকে তৰোৱালেৰে সকলোকে বধ কৰি নগৰখনত জুই লগাই দিলে।
9 After this the men of Judah went to fight against the Canaanites living in the hill country, in the Negev, and in the foothills of the lowlands.
৯তাৰ পাছত তেওঁলোকে পাহাৰীয়া এলেকা, নেগেভ আৰু পশ্চিমৰ নিম্নভূমিত বাস কৰা কনানীয়াসকলৰে সৈতে যুদ্ধ কৰিবলৈ নামি গ’ল।
10 They attacked the Canaanites who lived Hebron (previously known as Kiriath Arba) and defeated Sheshai, Ahiman, and Talmai.
১০তেওঁলোকে হিব্ৰোণৰ বাসিন্দা কনানীয়াসকলৰ বিৰুদ্ধে আগুৱাই গৈ চেচয়, অহিমন আৰু তল্ময়ক পৰাস্ত কৰিলে। হিব্ৰোণৰ আগৰ নাম আছিল কিৰিয়ৎ-অর্ব্ব।
11 From there they went on to attack the people living in Debir (previously known as Kiriath Sepher).
১১তাৰ পৰা তেওঁলোক দবীৰ চহৰৰ বিৰুদ্ধে আগবাঢ়ি গ’ল; দবীৰৰ পূর্বৰ নাম আছিল কিৰিয়ৎ-চেফৰ।
12 Caleb announced, “I will give my daughter Acsah in marriage to whoever attacks and captures Kiriath Sepher.”
১২কালেবে কৈছিল, “যি জনে কিৰিয়ৎ-চেফৰক আক্ৰমণ কৰি অধিকাৰ কৰিব, মই মোৰ জী অকচাক তেওঁৰে সৈতে বিয়া দিম।”
13 Othniel, son of Kenaz, Caleb's younger brother, was the one captured it, so he gave him his daughter Acsah in marriage.
১৩তাতে কালেবৰ ভায়েক কনজৰ সন্তান অৎনীয়েলে দবীৰ অধিকাৰ কৰিলে আৰু সেয়ে কালেবে নিজৰ জীয়েক অকচাক অৎনীয়েলে সৈতে বিয়া দিলে।
14 When Acsah came to Othniel, she encouraged him to ask her father for a field. As she got off her donkey, Caleb asked her, “What do you want?”
১৪অৎনীয়েলৰ লগত অকচা অহাৰ পাছতেই অকচাই স্বামীক খাটিবলৈ ধৰিলে, যাতে তেওঁ তাইৰ বাপেকক তাইৰ কাৰণে এখন পথাৰ দিবলৈ অনুৰোধ কৰে। পাছত অকচা যেতিয়া গাধৰ পিঠিৰ পৰা নামিল, কালেবে তাইক সুধিলে, “তোমাক কি লাগে মাজনী?”
15 “Please give me a blessing,” she replied. “You gave me land that's like the desert, so please give me springs of water as well.” So Caleb gave her the upper and lower springs.
১৫তাই উত্তৰ দিলে, “দেউতা, আপুনি মোক এক আশীৰ্ব্বাদ দিয়ক; কিয়নো আপুনি মোক নেগেভৰ ভূমি যেতিয়া দিছে, তেন্তে জলৰ নিজৰাবোৰো মোক দিয়ক।” এই কথা শুনি কালেবে তাইক সেই ঠাইৰ ওপৰ আৰু তল অংশত থকা নিজৰাবোৰ দিলে।
16 The descendants of Moses' father-in-law, the Kenite, went with the people of Judah from the city of palms to the wilderness of Judah in the Negev near Arad where they settled among the people.
১৬মোচিৰ শহুৰেকৰ বংশৰ সন্তান সকল, যিসকল জাতিত কেনীয়া আছিল, তেওঁলোকে যিহূদাৰ লোকসকলৰ সৈতে খেজুৰ চহৰৰ পৰা অৰাদ এলেকাৰ ওচৰৰ নেগেভত থকা যিহূদাৰ লোকসকলে বসবাস কৰা মৰুভূমিলৈ তেওঁলোকে সৈতে বসবাস কৰিবলৈ উঠি গ’ল।
17 Then Judah joined Simeon and defeated the Canaanites living in Zephath. They completely destroyed the town, so they named it Hormah.
১৭যিহূদা বংশৰ লোক সকলে তেওঁলোকৰ ভাই চিমিয়োন বংশৰ লোক সকলৰ লগত গৈ চফৎ চহৰৰ বাসিন্দা কনানীয়াসকলক আক্রমণ কৰিলে আৰু সেই চহৰ সম্পূর্ণকৈ বিনষ্ট কৰিলে। এই কাৰণতে সেই চহৰৰ নাম দিয়া হ’ল হৰ্মা।
18 Judah also captured the towns of Gaza, Ashkelon, and Ekron, each with its surrounding territory.
১৮যিহূদা বংশই গাজা, অস্কিলোন, ইক্ৰোণ চহৰ আৰু তাৰ ওচৰ-পাজৰৰ অঞ্চলসমূহ দখল কৰিলে।
19 The Lord was with Judah, and they took over the hill country, but they could not drive out the people living on the plain because they had iron chariots.
১৯যিহোৱা যিহূদা বংশৰ লোকসকলৰ সঙ্গত আছিল। তেওঁলোকে পাহাৰী এলেকাবোৰ দখল কৰি নিছিল হয়, কিন্তু সমতল ভূমিৰ নিবাসীসকলক খেদাব পৰা নাছিল, কাৰণ তেওঁলোকৰ লোহাৰ ৰথ আছিল।
20 As Moses had stipulated, Hebron was given to Caleb, who drove out from it the descendants of three sons of Anak.
২০মোচিৰ আজ্ঞা অনুসাৰে হিব্রুণ চহৰ কালেবক দিয়া হ’ল। অনাকৰ তিনিটা পুতেকক কালেবে হিব্ৰোণৰ পৰা খেদাই দিলে।
21 However, Benjamin could not drive out the Jebusites, the inhabitants of Jerusalem, so the Jebusites live among the people of Benjamin in Jerusalem to this very day.
২১কিন্তু বিন্যামীন বংশৰ লোকসকলে যিৰূচালেমত বাস কৰা যিবুচীয়াসকলক উচ্ছেদ নকৰিলে; সেয়ে বিন্যামীন বংশৰ লগত যিবুচীয়াসকল আজিও তাত বসবাস কৰি আছে।
22 The descendants of Joseph went and attacked the town of Bethel, and the Lord was with them.
২২যোচেফৰ বংশয়ো বৈৎএল নগৰ আক্রমণ কৰিবলৈ গ’ল। যিহোৱা তেওঁলোকৰ সঙ্গী আছিল।
23 They sent spies to investigate Bethel, which was previously known as Luz.
২৩তেওঁলোকে বৈৎএল নগৰখন ভালদৰে চাইচিতি আহিবলৈ মানুহ পঠালে; বৈৎএলৰ আগৰ নাম আছিল লুজ।
24 The spies saw a man leaving the town and told him, “Please show us how to get into town, and we will treat you well.”
২৪পাছত চোৰাংচোৱাসকলে সেই নগৰৰ পৰা এজন মানুহক বাহিৰলৈ ওলাই অহা দেখি, তেওঁক ক’লে, “অনুগ্রহ কৰি এই নগৰত সোমোৱাৰ পথটো আপুনি আমাক দেখুৱাই দিয়ক। আমি আপোনালৈ দয়ালু হ’ম।”
25 The man showed them the way into the town, and they killed all the inhabitants except the man and his family, whom they let go.
২৫তেতিয়া তেওঁ তেওঁলোকক নগৰত সোমোৱা পথ দেখুৱাই দিয়াত তেওঁলোকে গৈ সেই নগৰ তৰোৱালেৰে আক্রমণ কৰিলে, কিন্তু সেই লোকজনক আৰু তেওঁৰ পৰিয়ালৰ সকলো লোকক ৰেহাই দিলে।
26 The man moved to the country of the Hittites, and built a town there and called it Luz, which is its name to this day.

27 However, Manasseh didn't drive out the people living in the towns of Beth Shan, Taanach, Dor, Ibleam, Megiddo and their surrounding villages because the Canaanites insisted on living in the land.
২৭মনচিৰ বংশৰ লোকসকলে বৈৎ-চান, তানক, দোৰ, যিব্লিয়াম, মগিদ্দো চহৰৰ আৰু ইয়াৰ আশে-পাশে থকা গাওঁবোৰৰ বাসিন্দাসকলক উচ্ছেদ নকৰিলে, কাৰণ কনানীয়াসকলে সেই ঠাইতে থাকিবলৈ মন দৃঢ় কৰিলে।
28 When the Israelites grew stronger, they made the Canaanites do forced labor, but they never completely drove them out.
২৮পাছত ইস্ৰায়েলীয়াসকল যেতিয়া শক্তিশালী হৈ উঠিল, তেতিয়া তেওঁলোকে সেই কনানীয়াসকলক তেওঁলোকৰ দাস হৈ কাম কৰিবলৈ বাধ্য কৰালে; কিন্তু তেওঁলোকক একেবাৰে খেদি নিদিলে।
29 Ephraim didn't drive out the Canaanites living in the town of Gezer, so the Canaanites went on living there among them.
২৯ইফ্ৰয়িমৰ বংশধৰসকলেও গেজৰৰ পৰা কনানীয়াসকলক বাহিৰ কৰি নিদিলে; সেয়ে তেওঁলোক গেজৰতে তেওঁলোকৰ মাজত বাস কৰি থাকিল।
30 Zebulun didn't drive out the people living in the towns of Kitron and Nahalol, so the Canaanites went on living there among them. However, the Canaanites were made to do forced labor for the people of Zebulun.
৩০জবূলুন বংশৰ লোকসকলেও কিট্ৰোন আৰু নহলোলৰ পৰা কনানীয়াসকলক বাহিৰ কৰি নিদিলে; তাতে কনানীয়াসকল তেওঁলোকৰ মাজতে বাস কৰি থাকিল, কিন্তু জবূলূনৰ বংশধৰসকলে তেওঁলোকক দাসৰ কাম কৰিবলৈ বাধ্য কৰালে।
31 Asher didn't drive out the people living in the towns of Acco, Sidon, Ahlab, Achzib, Helbah, Aphik, and Rehob,
৩১আচেৰ বংশয়েও অক্কো, চীদোন, অহলাব, অকজীব, হেলবা, অফীক, আৰু ৰহোবৰ লোক সমূহক বাহিৰ নকৰিলে।
32 so the people of Asher went on living there among the Canaanite inhabitants of the land because they hadn't driven them out.
৩২তেওঁলোকে সেই ঠাইৰ বাসিন্দা কনানীয়াসকলৰ মাজতে বাস কৰিবলৈ ধৰিলে, কাৰণ তেওঁলোকে সেইসকলক বাহিৰ নকৰিলে।
33 Naphtali didn't drive out the people living in the towns of Beth-shemesh and Beth-anath. So the people of Asher went on living there among the Canaanite inhabitants of the land because they hadn't driven them out. However, the people of Beth-shemesh and Beth-anath were made to do forced labor for the people of Naphtali.
৩৩নপ্তালী বংশৰ লোকসকলে বৈৎ-চেমচ আৰু বৈৎ-অনাৎৰ লোকসকলক বাহিৰ নকৰিলে আৰু তেওঁলোকে সেই ঠাইৰ কনানীয়াসকলৰ মাজত বাস কৰিবলৈ ধৰিলে; বৈৎ-চেমচ আৰু বৈৎ-অনাৎবাসীক নপ্তালীসকলৰ বাবে কাম কৰিবলৈ বাধ্য কৰালে।
34 The Amorites pushed the people of Dan back into the hill country—they did not let them come down into the lowlands.
৩৪ইমোৰীয়াসকলে দানৰ বংশধৰসকলক পাহাৰীয়া এলেকাতে আটক কৰি বসতি কৰিবলৈ বাধ্য কৰালে; তেওঁলোকক সমতল ভূমিলৈ নামি আহিব নিদিলে।
35 The Amorites insisted on remaining in Mount Heres, Aijalon, and Shaalbim, but when the tribes of Joseph grew stronger, the Amorites were made to do forced labor.
৩৫ইমোৰীয়াসকলে হেৰচ পর্বত, অয়ালোন আৰু চালবীমত বাস কৰিবলৈ ধৰিলে; কিন্তু যোচেফৰ বংশৰ লোকসকলৰ সৈন্য শক্তিয়ে সেইবোৰ জয় কৰিলে আৰু ইমোৰীয়াসকলক তেওঁলোকৰ দাসৰ কার্য কৰিবলৈ বাধ্য কৰালে।
36 The border with the Amorites ran from Scorpion Pass through Sela and on up from there.
৩৬ইমোৰীয়াসকলৰ সীমা অক্ৰব্বীম গিৰিপথৰ পৰা চেলা পাৰ হৈ ওপৰৰ পর্বতীয়া অঞ্চললৈকে আছিল।
