Joshua 21
1 The leaders of the tribe of Levi approached Eleazar the priest, Joshua the son of Nun, and the leaders of the Israelite tribes.
ഇതിനുശേഷം ലേവ്യരുടെ കുടുംബത്തലവന്മാർ—കനാനിലെ ശീലോവിൽവെച്ച്—പുരോഹിതനായ എലെയാസാർ, നൂന്റെ മകനായ യോശുവ, ഇസ്രായേലിലെ മറ്റു ഗോത്രത്തലവന്മാർ എന്നിവരുടെ അടുക്കൽവന്ന് അവരോട്: “ഞങ്ങൾക്കു താമസിക്കാൻ പട്ടണങ്ങളും ഞങ്ങളുടെ കന്നുകാലികൾക്കു പുൽമേടുകളും തരാൻ യഹോവ മോശമുഖാന്തരം കൽപ്പിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ടല്ലോ” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
2 They spoke to them at Shiloh in Canaan, saying, “The Lord gave instructions through Moses to give us towns to live in, and pastures for our flocks.”
3 So, following the Lord's instructions, the Israelites gave towns and pastures to the Levites from their own allocations.
അങ്ങനെ ഇസ്രായേൽമക്കൾ തങ്ങളുടെ സ്വന്ത അവകാശത്തിൽനിന്ന് യഹോവയുടെ കൽപ്പനപ്രകാരം ഈ പട്ടണങ്ങളും പുൽമേടുകളും ലേവ്യർക്കു കൊടുത്തു:
4 The lot was cast for the families of the Kothaites. These Levites, descendants of Aaron, were allotted thirteen towns from the tribes of Judah, Simeon, and Benjamin.
കെഹാത്യർക്കു കുലംകുലമായി ആദ്യത്തെ നറുക്കുവീണു. പുരോഹിതനായ അഹരോന്റെ പിൻഗാമികളായ ലേവ്യർക്ക്, യെഹൂദാ, ശിമെയോൻ, ബെന്യാമീൻ, എന്നീ ഗോത്രങ്ങളുടെ അവകാശത്തിൽനിന്നു പതിമ്മൂന്നു പട്ടണങ്ങൾ ലഭിച്ചു.
5 The remaining families of the descendants of Kothah were allotted ten towns from the tribes of Ephraim, Dan, and the half-tribe of Manasseh.
കെഹാത്തിന്റെ മറ്റു പിൻഗാമികൾക്ക്, എഫ്രയീംഗോത്രം, ദാൻഗോത്രം, മനശ്ശെയുടെ പകുതിഗോത്രം എന്നിവരുടെ അവകാശത്തിൽനിന്നു പത്തു പട്ടണങ്ങൾ ലഭിച്ചു.
6 The families of the descendants of Gershon were allotted thirteen towns from the tribes of Issachar, Asher, Naphtali, and the half-tribe of Manasseh living in Bashan.
ഗെർശോന്റെ പിൻഗാമികൾക്ക്, യിസ്സാഖാർഗോത്രം, ആശേർഗോത്രം, നഫ്താലിഗോത്രം, ബാശാനിലെ മനശ്ശെയുടെ പകുതിഗോത്രം എന്നിവരുടെ അവകാശത്തിൽനിന്ന് പതിമ്മൂന്നു പട്ടണങ്ങൾ ലഭിച്ചു.
7 The families of the descendants of Merari were allotted twelve towns from the tribes of Reuben, Gad, and Zebulun.
മെരാരിയുടെ പിൻഗാമികൾക്കു കുലംകുലമായി രൂബേൻ, ഗാദ്, സെബൂലൂൻ എന്നീ ഗോത്രങ്ങളുടെ അവകാശത്തിൽനിന്ന് പന്ത്രണ്ടു പട്ടണങ്ങൾ ലഭിച്ചു.
8 So the Israelites gave the Levites by lot these towns and pastures, as the Lord had instructed through Moses.
ഇപ്രകാരം ഇസ്രായേൽമക്കൾ ലേവ്യർക്ക് ഈ പട്ടണങ്ങളും അവയുടെ പുൽമേടുകളും യഹോവ മോശമുഖാന്തരം കൽപ്പിച്ചതിൻപ്രകാരം വിഭജിച്ചുകൊടുത്തു.
9 They gave from the tribe of Judah and the tribe of Simeon the following towns, specifically named,
യെഹൂദാഗോത്രത്തിൽനിന്നും ശിമെയോൻഗോത്രത്തിൽനിന്നും താഴേ പേരുപറയുന്ന പട്ടണങ്ങളെ കൊടുത്തു.
10 to the families of the Kothaites, descendants of Aaron, of the tribe of Levi, since the first lot fell to them:
(ലേവ്യരിൽ കെഹാത്യകുലങ്ങളിൽപ്പെട്ട അഹരോന്റെ പിൻഗാമികൾക്കാണ് ഇവ ലഭിച്ചത്. കാരണം ആദ്യത്തെ നറുക്ക് അവർക്കാണു വീണത്.)
11 Kiriath-arba (or Hebron), in the hill country of Judah, together with the pastures around it. (Arba was the forefather of Anak.)
യെഹൂദാമലനാട്ടിൽ ഹെബ്രോൻ എന്ന കിര്യത്ത്-അർബയും ചുറ്റുപാടുമുള്ള പുൽമേടുകളും അവർക്കു കൊടുത്തു. (അനാക്കിന്റെ പൂർവപിതാവായിരുന്നു അർബാ.)
12 But the more distant fields from the town and the villages had been given to Caleb son of Jephunneh to own.
എന്നാൽ പട്ടണത്തിനു ചുറ്റുമുള്ള നിലങ്ങളും ഗ്രാമങ്ങളും അവർ യെഫുന്നയുടെ മകനായ കാലേബിന് അവകാശമായി കൊടുത്തു.
13 They gave to the descendants of Aaron the priest the following towns and their pastures: Hebron (a sanctuary town for those who accidentally committed murder), Libnah,
പുരോഹിതനായ അഹരോന്റെ പിൻഗാമികൾക്ക് അവർ ഹെബ്രോൻ (കൊലചെയ്തവർക്കുള്ള അഭയപട്ടണം), ലിബ്നാ,
14 Jattir, Eshtemoa,
യത്ഥീർ, എസ്തെമോവ,
15 Holon, Debir,
ഹോലോൻ, ദെബീർ,
16 Ain, Juttah, and Beth-shemesh—nine towns from these two tribes.
ആയിൻ, യുത്ത, ബേത്-ശേമെശ് എന്നീ പട്ടണങ്ങളും അവയുടെ പുൽമേടുകളും ഇങ്ങനെ ഈ രണ്ടു ഗോത്രങ്ങളിൽനിന്നായി ഒൻപതു പട്ടണങ്ങളും;
17 From the tribe of Benjamin the following four towns and their pastures: Gibeon, Geba,
ബെന്യാമീൻഗോത്രത്തിൽനിന്ന്, ഗിബെയോൻ, ഗേബാ,
18 Anathoth, and Almon.
അനാഥോത്ത്, അൽമോൻ എന്നിവയും അവയുടെ പുൽമേടുകളുമായി നാലു പട്ടണങ്ങളും കൊടുത്തു.
19 So in total thirteen towns and their pastures were given to the priests, the descendants of Aaron.
ഇങ്ങനെ അഹരോന്റെ പിൻഗാമികളായ പുരോഹിതന്മാർക്കെല്ലാംകൂടി പതിമ്മൂന്നു പട്ടണങ്ങളും അവയുടെ പുൽമേടുകളും ലഭിച്ചു.
20 As for the remaining families of the children of Kothah from the tribe of Levi, they were given by lot four towns and their pastures from the tribe of Ephraim:
ലേവ്യരിൽ കെഹാത്യകുലത്തിൽ ശേഷിച്ചവർക്ക് എഫ്രയീംഗോത്രത്തിൽനിന്നും പട്ടണങ്ങൾ ലഭിച്ചു.
21 Shechem in the hill country of Ephraim (a sanctuary town for those who accidentally committed murder), Gezer,
എഫ്രയീം മലനാട്ടിൽ ശേഖേം (കൊലചെയ്തവർക്കുള്ള അഭയപട്ടണം), ഗേസെർ,
22 Kibzaim, and Beth-horon.
കിബ്സയീം, ബേത്-ഹോരോൻ, ഇങ്ങനെ നാലു പട്ടണവും അവയുടെ പുൽമേടുകളും,
23 From the tribe of Dan, the following four towns and their pastures: Eltekeh, Gibbethon,
ദാൻഗോത്രത്തിൽനിന്ന് എൽ-തെക്കേ, ഗിബ്ബെഥോൻ,
24 Aijalon, and Gath-rimmon.
അയ്യാലോൻ, ഗത്ത്-രിമ്മോൻ ഇങ്ങനെ നാലു പട്ടണവും അവയുടെ പുൽമേടുകളും,
25 From the half-tribe of Manasseh the following two towns and their pastures: Taanach and Gath-rimmon.
മനശ്ശെയുടെ പകുതിഗോത്രത്തിൽനിന്ന് താനാക്ക്, ഗത്ത്-രിമ്മോൻ ഇങ്ങനെ രണ്ടു പട്ടണവും അവയുടെ പുൽമേടുകളും;
26 So in total ten towns and their pastures were given to remaining families of the descendants of Kothah.
ഈ പത്തു പട്ടണങ്ങളും അവയുടെ പുൽമേടുകളും കെഹാത്യകുലത്തിൽ ശേഷിച്ചവർക്കു ലഭിച്ചു.
27 The families of the descendants of Gershon from the tribe of Levi received the following two towns and their pastures from the half-tribe of Manasseh: Golan in Bashan (a sanctuary town for those who accidentally committed murder), and Be-eshterah.
ലേവിഗോത്രത്തിൽപ്പെട്ട ഗെർശോന്യർക്ക്, മനശ്ശെയുടെ പകുതിഗോത്രത്തിൽനിന്ന്: ബാശാനിലെ ഗോലാൻ (കൊലചെയ്തവർക്കുള്ള അഭയപട്ടണം), ബെയെസ്തേര ഇങ്ങനെ രണ്ടു പട്ടണങ്ങളും അവയുടെ പുൽമേടുകളും,
28 From the tribe of Issachar the following four towns and their pastures: Kishion, Daberath,
യിസ്സാഖാർ ഗോത്രത്തിൽനിന്ന്, കിശ്യോൻ, ദാബെരത്ത്,
29 Jarmuth, and En-gannim.
യർമൂത്ത്, ഏൻ-ഗന്നീം ഇങ്ങനെ നാലു പട്ടണങ്ങളും അവയുടെ പുൽമേടുകളും;
30 From the tribe of Asher the following four towns and their pastures: Mishal, Abdon,
ആശേർ ഗോത്രത്തിൽനിന്ന്, മിശാൽ, അബ്ദോൻ,
31 Helkath, and Rehob.
ഹെൽക്കത്ത്, രെഹോബ് ഇങ്ങനെ നാലു പട്ടണങ്ങളും അവയുടെ പുൽമേടുകളും;
32 From the tribe of Naphtali the following three towns and their pastures: Kedesh in Galilee (a sanctuary town for those who accidentally committed murder), Hammoth-dor, and Kartan.
നഫ്താലിഗോത്രത്തിൽനിന്ന്, ഗലീലായിലെ കേദേശ് (കൊലചെയ്തവർക്കുള്ള അഭയപട്ടണം), ഹമ്മോത്ത്-ദോർ, കർഥാൻ. ഇങ്ങനെ മൂന്നു പട്ടണങ്ങളും അവയുടെ പുൽമേടുകളും;
33 So in total thirteen towns and their pastures were allotted to the families of Gershon.
ആകെ പതിമ്മൂന്നു പട്ടണങ്ങളും അവയുടെ പുൽമേടുകളും ഗെർശോന്യർക്ക് കുലംകുലമായി ലഭിച്ചു.
34 The families of the descendants of Merari, those remaining from the tribe of Levi, received the following four towns and their pastures from the tribe of Zebulun: Jokneam, Kartah,
ശേഷം ലേവ്യരിൽ മെരാര്യകുലത്തിന്, സെബൂലൂൻഗോത്രത്തിൽനിന്ന്. യൊക്നെയാം, കർഥ,
35 Dimnah, and Nahalal.
ദിമ്നി, നഹലാൽ. ഇങ്ങനെ നാലു പട്ടണങ്ങളും അവയുടെ പുൽമേടുകളും
36 From the tribe of Reuben the following four towns and their pastures: Bezer, Jahaz,
രൂബേൻഗോത്രത്തിൽനിന്ന്: ബേസെർ, യാഹാസ്,
37 Kedemoth, and Mephaath.
കെദേമോത്ത്, മേഫാത്ത് ഇങ്ങനെ നാലു പട്ടണങ്ങളും അവയുടെ പുൽമേടുകളും;
38 From the tribe of Gad the following four towns and their pastures: Ramoth in Gilead (a sanctuary town for those who accidentally committed murder), Mahanaim,
ഗാദ്ഗോത്രത്തിൽനിന്ന്, ഗിലെയാദിലെ രാമോത്ത് (കൊലചെയ്തവർക്കുള്ള അഭയപട്ടണം), മഹനയീം,
39 Heshbon, and Jazer.
ഹെശ്ബോൻ, യാസേർ എന്നീ നാലു പട്ടണങ്ങളും അവയുടെ പുൽമേടുകളും.
40 So in total twelve towns were allotted to the families of Merari, those remaining from the tribe of Levi.
ഇങ്ങനെ ആകെ പന്ത്രണ്ടു പട്ടണങ്ങൾ, ശേഷം ലേവ്യരിൽപ്പെട്ട മെരാര്യകുലത്തിനു ലഭിച്ചു.
41 The Levites received a total of forty-eight towns and pastures within the land of the Israelites.
ഇസ്രായേല്യരുടെ അവകാശത്തിൽനിന്ന് ലേവ്യർക്ക് ആകെ നാൽപ്പത്തെട്ടു പട്ടണങ്ങളും അവയുടെ പുൽമേടുകളും ലഭിച്ചു.
42 Each of these towns had pastures around them.
ഓരോ പട്ടണത്തിനുചുറ്റും പുൽമേടുകൾ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു. എല്ലാ പട്ടണങ്ങളുടെയും ഭൂപ്രകൃതി ഏകദേശം ഒരുപോലെതന്നെയായിരുന്നു.
43 And so the Lord gave to the Israelites all the land he had promised their ancestors. They took possession of it and settled there.
അങ്ങനെ യഹോവ, ഇസ്രായേലിന്, താൻ അവരുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാർക്കു കൊടുക്കുമെന്നു ശപഥംചെയ്ത ദേശമെല്ലാം കൊടുത്തു; അവർ അതു കൈവശപ്പെടുത്തി അവിടെ താമസമുറപ്പിച്ചു.
44 The Lord gave them peace on every side as he had promised their ancestors. Not a single one of their enemies could stand against them, for the Lord had handed their enemies over to them to defeat.
പിതാക്കന്മാരോടു ശപഥംചെയ്തതുപോലെ യഹോവ എല്ലാ ഭാഗത്തുനിന്നും അവർക്കു സ്വസ്ഥതനൽകി. ശത്രുക്കളിൽ ഒരുവനുപോലും അവരുടെനേരേ നിൽക്കാൻ സാധിച്ചില്ല; അവരുടെ ശത്രുക്കളെയെല്ലാം യഹോവ അവരുടെ കൈയിൽ ഏൽപ്പിച്ചു.
45 Not a single one of the good things the Lord promised Israel had failed; everything had come true.
യഹോവ ഇസ്രായേൽഗോത്രത്തിനു നൽകിയ നല്ല വാഗ്ദാനങ്ങളിൽ ഒന്നുപോലും നിറവേറപ്പെടാതിരുന്നില്ല; അവയെല്ലാം നിറവേറി.
