1 The second lot cast went to the tribe of Simeon, by families. The land was within the land allotted to the tribe of Judah.
Et egressa est sors secunda filiorum Simeon per cognationes suas: fuitque hæreditas
2 Their allocation included Beersheba, Sheba, Moladah,
eorum in medio possessionis filiorum Juda: Bersabee et Sabee et Molada
3 Hazar-shual, Balah, Ezem,
et Hasersual, Bala et Asem
4 Eltolad, Bethul, Hormah,
et Eltholad, Bethul et Harma
5 Ziklag, Beth-marcaboth, Hazar-susah,
et Siceleg et Bethmarchaboth et Hasersusa
6 Beth-lebaoth, and Sharuhen—thirteen towns with their associated villages.
et Bethlebaoth et Sarohen: civitates tredecim, et villæ earum.
7 Also: Ain, Rimmon, Ether, and Ashan—four towns with their associated villages,
Ain et Remmon et Athar et Asan: civitates quatuor, et villæ earum:
8 as well as all the villages around these towns as far as Baalath-beer (or Ramah of the Negev). This was the land allotted to the tribe of Simeon, by families.

10 The third lot cast went to the tribe of Zebulun, by families. The boundary of their allocation began at Sarid,
Ceciditque sors tertia filiorum Zabulon per cognationes suas: factus est terminus possessionis eorum usque Sarid.
11 and then went west past Maralah, touched Dabbeshah, and then the brook near Jokneam.
Ascenditque de mari et Merala, et pervenit in Debbaseth, usque ad torrentem qui est contra Jeconam.
12 Going the other way from Sarid, the boundary headed east to the border of Kislot-tabor, on to Daberath, and then up to Japhia.
Et revertitur de Sared contra orientem in fines Ceseleththabor: et egreditur ad Dabereth, ascenditque contra Japhie.
13 From there it ran east to Gath-hepher, Eth-kazin, and on to Rimmon, and turned towards Neah.
Et inde pertransit usque ad orientalem plagam Gethepher et Thacasin: et egreditur in Remmon, Amthar et Noa.
14 There the boundary turned north to Hannathon, ending at the valley of Iphtah-el.
Et circuit ad aquilonem Hanathon: suntque egressus ejus vallis Jephthaël,
15 The towns included: Kattath, Nahalal, Shimron, Idalah, and Bethlehem—twelve towns with their associated villages.
et Cateth et Naalol et Semeron et Jerala et Bethlehem: civitates duodecim, et villæ earum.
16 This was the allocation—the land, towns, and villages—given to the tribe of Zebulun, by families.

17 The fourth lot cast went to the tribe of Issachar, by families.
Issachar egressa est sors quarta per cognationes suas:
18 Their land included these towns: Jezreel, Kesulloth, Shunem,
fuitque ejus hæreditas Jezraël et Casaloth et Sunem
19 Hapharaim, Shion, Anaharath,
et Hapharaim et Seon, et Anaharath
20 Rabbith, Kishion, Ebez,
et Rabboth et Cesion, Abes,
21 Remeth, En-gannim, En-haddah, and Beth-pazzez.
et Rameth, et Engannim, et Enhadda et Bethpheses.
22 The boundary also reached the towns of Tabor, Shahazumah, and Beth-shemesh, and ended at the Jordan River—sixteen towns with their associated villages.
Et pervenit terminus ejus usque Thabor et Sehesima et Bethsames, eruntque exitus ejus Jordanis: civitates sedecim, et villæ earum.
23 This was the allocation—the land, towns, and villages—given to the tribe of Zebulun, by families.

24 The fifth lot cast went to the tribe of Asher, by families.
Ceciditque sors quinta tribui filiorum Aser per cognationes suas:
25 Their allocation included the towns of Helkath, Hali, Beten, Acshaph,
fuitque terminus eorum Halcath et Chali et Beten et Axaph
26 Allammelech, Amad, and Mishal. Their boundary reached Carmel and Shihor-libnat in the west.
et Elmelech et Amaad et Messal: et pervenit usque ad Carmelum maris et Sihor et Labanath,
27 Then it turned east towards Beth-dagon, reaching the land of Zebulun and the valley of Iphtah-el. From there it headed north to Beth-emek and Neiel, and continued north to Cabul, and on through to

29 The boundary then turned towards Ramah and then the fortified town of Tyre, turning to Hosah and ending at the sea. Towns included Mehebel, Aczib,
Revertiturque in Horma usque ad civitatem munitissimam Tyrum, et usque Hosa: eruntque exitus ejus in mare de funiculo Achziba:
30 Ummah, Aphek, and Rehob—twenty-two towns with their associated villages.
et Amma et Aphec et Rohob: civitates viginti duæ, et villæ earum.
31 This was the allocation—the land, towns, and villages—given to the tribe of Asher, by families.
Hæc est possessio filiorum Aser per cognationes suas, urbesque et viculi earum.
32 The sixth lot cast went to the tribe of Naphtali, by families.
Filiorum Nephthali sexta sors cecidit per familias suas:
33 Their boundary began at Heleph, by the oak at Zaananim, and went across to Adami-nekeb, Jabneel, and up to Lakkum, and ending at the Jordan.
et cœpit terminus de Heleph et Elon in Saananim, et Adami, quæ est Neceb, et Jebnaël usque Lecum: et egressus eorum usque ad Jordanem:
34 Then the boundary headed west to Aznoth-tabor, and on to Hukkok. It reached the land of Zebulun on the south, the land of Asher on the west, and the Jordan on the east.
revertiturque terminus contra occidentem in Azanotthabor, atque inde egreditur in Hucuca, et pertransit in Zabulon contra meridiem, et in Aser contra occidentem, et in Juda ad Jordanem contra ortum solis:
35 The fortified towns included: Ziddim, Zer, Hammath, Rakkath, Kinnereth,
civitates munitissimæ, Assedim, Ser, et Emath, et Reccath et Cenereth,
37 Kedesh, Edrei, En-hazor,
et Cedes et Edrai, Enhasor,
38 Yiron, Migdal-el, Horem, Beth-anath, and Beth-shemesh—nineteen towns with their associated villages.
et Jeron et Magdalel, Horem et Bethanath et Bethsames: civitates decem et novem, et villæ earum.
39 This was the allocation—the land, towns, and villages—given to the tribe of Naphtali, by families.

40 The seventh lot cast went to the tribe of Dan, by families.
Tribui filiorum Dan per familias suas egressa est sors septima:
41 Their allocation included the towns of Zorah, Eshtaol, Ir-shemesh,
et fuit terminus possessionis ejus Sara et Esthaol, et Hirsemes, id est, civitas solis.
42 Shaalabbin, Aijalon, Ithlah,
Selebin et Ajalon et Jethela,
44 Eltekeh, Gibbethon, Baalath,
Elthece, Gebbethon et Balaath,
45 Jehud, Bene-berak, Gath-rimmon,
et Jud et Bane et Barach et Gethremmon:
46 Me-jarkon, Rakkon, along with the territory opposite Joppa.
et Mejarcon et Arecon, cum termino qui respicit Joppen,
47 However, the tribe of Dan was not able to hold on to their allotted land, so they went and attacked Leshem and captured it. They slaughtered its inhabitants and took possession of the town, settling there. They renamed Leshem as Dan, after their ancestor.
et ipso fine concluditur. Ascenderuntque filii Dan, et pugnaverunt contra Lesem, ceperuntque eam: et percusserunt eam in ore gladii, et possederunt, et habitaverunt in ea, vocantes nomen ejus Lesem Dan, ex nomine Dan patris sui.
48 This was the allocation—the land, towns, and villages—given to the tribe of Dan, by families.
Hæc est possessio tribus filiorum Dan, per cognationes suas, urbes et viculi earum.
49 After they finished allotting the land and establishing its borders, the Israelites gave Joshua, son of Nun, an allocation among them.
Cumque complesset sorte dividere terram singulis per tribus suas, dederunt filii Israël possessionem Josue filio Nun in medio sui,
50 Following the Lord's command, they gave him the town he requested—Timnath-serah in the hill country of Ephraim. He rebuilt the town and settled there.
juxta præceptum Domini, urbem quam postulavit Thamnath Saraa in monte Ephraim: et ædificavit civitatem, habitavitque in ea.
51 These were the allocations distributed by Eleazar the priest, Joshua, son of Nun, and the leaders of the Israelite tribes. They were made by casting lots at Shiloh in the presence of the Lord at the entrance of the Tent of Meeting. So they finished dividing up the land.
Hæ sunt possessiones, quas sorte diviserunt Eleazar sacerdos, et Josue filius Nun, et principes familiarum ac tribuum filiorum Israël in Silo, coram Domino ad ostium tabernaculi testimonii: partitique sunt terram.
