Joshua 18
1 The land had been subdued and lay before them. The Israelites gathered together at Shiloh and set up the Tent of Meeting.
Wtedy całe zgromadzenie synów Izraela zebrało się w Szilo i wznieśli tam Namiot Zgromadzenia, gdyż ziemia została przez nich opanowana.
2 However, seven of the Israelite tribes had not received their land allocations.
A pozostało wśród synów Izraela siedem pokoleń, którym nie przydzielono ich dziedzictwa.
3 So Joshua asked the Israelites, “How long will you go on being reluctant to go and take possession of the land that the Lord gave your forefathers?
Wtedy Jozue powiedział do synów Izraela: Jak długo będziecie zwlekać z tym, aby wejść i posiąść ziemię, którą dał wam PAN, Bóg waszych ojców?
4 Choose three men from each tribe and I will send them out to explore the land. Then they can write a description regarding the land allocations and bring it to me.
Wybierzcie spośród siebie po trzech mężczyzn [z każdego] pokolenia, których poślę, aby obeszli ziemię i opisali ją według ich dziedzictwa, a potem powrócą do mnie.
5 They are to divide the land into seven parts, up to the boundary of Judah's land in the south and Joseph's land in the north.
I podzielą ją na siedem części: Juda pozostanie w swych granicach na południu, a dom Józefa pozostanie w swych granicach na północy.
6 Once you have written the description the land, dividing it in seven parts, you will bring it to me here and I will cast lots for you in the presence of the Lord our God.
Sporządźcie więc opis ziemi, [dzieląc ją] na siedem części, i przynieście [go] tu do mnie, a ja rzucę dla was losy tu przed PANEM, naszym Bogiem.
7 But the Levites do not receive a share, for their role as priests of the Lord is their allocation. Also, Gad, Reuben, and the half-tribe of Manasseh have already received their allocation that Moses, the servant of the Lord, gave them on the east side of the Jordan.”
Lewici bowiem nie mają działu pośród was, gdyż ich dziedzictwem jest kapłaństwo PANA; a Gad, Ruben i połowa pokolenia Manassesa otrzymali swe dziedzictwa po wschodniej stronie Jordanu, które dał im Mojżesz, sługa PANA.
8 As the men started out on their way to explore the land. Joshua told them, “Go throughout the land and write a description of what you find. Then return to me and I will cast lots for you in the presence of the Lord here in Shiloh.”
Wtedy ci mężczyźni wstali i poszli, a Jozue nakazał tym, którzy szli, aby opisali ziemię: Idźcie i obejdźcie ziemię, i opiszcie ją, a potem wróćcie do mnie, a ja rzucę dla was losy przed PANEM tu, w Szilo.
9 So the men went and explored the land and wrote down on a scroll a description of the seven parts, recording the towns in each part. Then they returned to Joshua at the camp in Shiloh
Odeszli więc ci mężczyźni i obchodzili ziemię, i opisali ją w księdze według miast, [dzieląc] na siedem części; potem wrócili do Jozuego, do obozu w Szilo.
10 where Joshua cast lots for them in the presence of the Lord. There Joshua divided the land up and allotted the different parts to the remaining Israelite tribes.
I Jozue rzucił dla nich losy w Szilo przed PANEM, i tam podzielił Jozue ziemię synom Izraela według ich przydziałów.
11 The first lot cast went to the tribe of Benjamin, by families. The land allotted lay between that of the tribe of Judah and the tribe of Joseph.
I padł los dla pokolenia synów Beniamina według ich rodzin, a granica ich losu wypadła między synami Judy a synami Józefa.
12 Their boundary began at the Jordan, and went north of the slope of Jericho, west through the hill country, coming out at the wilderness of Beth-aven.
Ich granica po stronie północnej zaczynała się od Jordanu, biegła na północne zbocze Jerycha, ciągnęła się przez góry na zachód i kończyła się przy pustyni Bet-Awen.
13 Then the boundary went south to Luz (or Bethel) and on down to Ataroth-addar on the mountain south of Lower Beth-horon.
A stamtąd granica biegła do Luz, od strony południowej Luz, czyli Betel, a schodziła do Atarot-Addar pod górę, która leży na południe od dolnego Bet-Choron.
14 Here the boundary turned south along the western side of the mountain facing Beth-horon, finishing at Kiriath-baal (or Kiriath-jearim), a town of the tribe of Judah. This was the western boundary.
Potem granica skręcała obok morza na południe od góry położonej naprzeciw Bet-Choron na południu, i kończyła się w Kiriat-Baal, czyli Kiriat-Jearim, mieście synów Judy. To jest strona zachodnia.
15 The southern boundary began at the edge of Kiriath-jearim. It ran to the spring at Nephtoah,
Strona zaś południowa [zaczynała się] od końca Kiriat-Jearim; następnie granica biegła na zachód i dochodziła do źródła wód Neftoach.
16 and then down to the foot of the mountain that faces the valley of Ben-hinnom, at the north end of the valley of Rephaim. Then it went down the valley of Hinnom, along the slope near the Jebusite town, south towards En-rogel.
I granica ta ciągnęła się do końca góry położonej naprzeciw doliny syna Hinnom, leżącej w dolinie Refaim na północy, i schodziła do doliny Hinnom po stronie Jebus na południe, i stamtąd biegła do źródła Rogiel.
17 From there it headed north to En-shemesh and on to Geliloth, opposite the heights of Adummim, and then on down to the Stone of Bohan (Reuben's son).
Potem skręcała na północ i dochodziła do En-Szemesz, i dalej do Gelilot, które jest naprzeciw wzniesienia Adummim, stamtąd schodziła do kamienia Bohana, syna Rubena.
18 Then it went along the ridge opposite the Jordan Valley to the north, and then down into the Jordan Valley itself.
Następnie przebiegała ku zboczu, które było naprzeciw Araby na północ, i ciągnęła się do Araby.
19 From there it ran along the north slope of Beth-hoglah, ending at the north bay of the Salt Sea, the southern end of the Jordan. This was the southern boundary.
Stamtąd granica biegła do zbocza Bet-Chogla na północy, a kończyła się przy zatoce północnej Morza Słonego, na południu od ujścia Jordanu. To [była] granica południowa.
20 The eastern boundary was the Jordan. These were the boundaries around the land of the tribe of Benjamin, by families.
Jordan zaś stanowi granicę od strony wschodniej. To było dziedzictwo synów Beniamina według otaczających jego granic, według ich rodzin.
21 These were the towns of the tribe of Benjamin, according to families: Jericho, Beth-hoglah, Emek-keziz,
A miastami pokolenia synów Beniamina według ich rodzin były: Jerycho, Bet-Chogla i dolina Kesis;
22 Beth-arabah, Zemaraim, Bethel,
Bet-Araba, Semaraim, Betel;
23 Avvim, Parah, Ophrah,
Awwim, Para, Ofra;
24 Kephar-ammoni, Ophni, and Geba—twelve towns with their associated villages.
Kefar-Ammonaj, Ofni i Geba: dwanaście miast wraz z przyległymi do nich wioskami.
25 In addition: Gibeon, Ramah, Beeroth,
Gibeon, Rama, Beerot;
26 Mizpah, Kephirah, Mozah,
Mispa, Kefira, Mosa;
27 Rekem, Irpeel, Taralah,
Rekem, Jerpeel, Tarala;
28 Zela, Haeleph, Jebus (or Jerusalem), Gibeah, and Kiriath-jearim—fourteen towns with their associated villages. This was the land allotted to the tribe of Benjamin, by families.
Sela, Elef, Jebus, czyli Jerozolima, Gibeat i Kiriat: czternaście miast wraz z przyległymi do nich wioskami. To było dziedzictwo synów Beniamina według ich rodzin.
