< Joshua 14 >
1 This was the land that was allotted to the Israelites to own in the land of Canaan by Eleazar the priest, Joshua, son of Nun, and the leaders of the tribes.
Kanaan ram dawkvah, vaihma Eleazar, Nun e capa Joshua hoi Isarelnaw miphun dawk e khobawinaw ni râw a rei awh teh, Isarelnaw ni râw teh a coe awh.
2 The decision regarding the land division among the nine and a half tribes was made by casting lots, as the Lord had instructed Moses.
BAWIPA Cathut Mosi koe lawk a thui e patetlah Isarel miphunnaw phun tako touh hoi tangawn ni cungpam a khoe awh teh râw a coe awh.
3 Moses had allotted land to the two and a half tribes east of the Jordan but he had made no allocation to the Levites among them.
Mosi ni Isarel miphun hlaikahni touh hoi tangawn hah Jordan palang kanîtholah râw lah a poe toe. Levihnaw teh a louk e miphunnaw hoi kâkalawt lah râw poe awh hoeh.
4 The descendants of Joseph had become two tribes, Manasseh and Ephraim. The Levites were not given any land, only towns to live in and pasture for their flocks and herds.
Joseph miphun, Manasseh miphun, Ephraim miphun, miphun kahni touh lah ao teh, Levihnaw ni a onae kho, Ahnimae saring hoi hnopainaw hah, a ta nahane kho hloilah alouke talai poe awh hoeh.
5 So the Israelites followed the instructions the Lord had given Moses in allocating the land.
Mosi koe BAWIPA ni lawk a thui e patetlah Isarel miphunnaw ni talai teh a kârei awh.
6 Leaders from the tribe of Judah approached Joshua at Gilgal, and Caleb, son of Jephunneh the Kenizzite, said to him, “You remember what the Lord told Moses, the man of God, at Kadesh-barnea about me and you.
Hahoi Judah miphunnaw teh Gilgal kho hoi Joshua koe a tho awh teh, Keniz miphun Jephunneh e capa Kaleb ni BAWIPA Cathut teh, Kadeshbarnea e hmuen koe nang hoi kai panue saknae lah Cathut e tami Mosi koe kâ a poe e lawk teh, nang ni na panue.
7 I was forty when Moses, the servant of God, sent me from Kadesh-barnea to spy out the land. When I returned I told the truth in my report.
Hete ram tuet hanelah BAWIPA e san Mosi ni kai heh Kadeshbernea vah na patoun nah, kai teh kum 40 ka pha toe. Kai teh kama e lung thung kaawm e patetlah bout ka dei pouh.
8 But those who went with me made our people afraid. However, I have faithfully followed the Lord my God.
Kai hoi rei ka cet e hmaunawnghanaw ni taminaw lung a pout sak awh eiteh, BAWIPA Cathut hnuk doeh khoeroe ka kâbang.
9 At that time Moses made a solemn promise, telling me, ‘The land where you have walked will belong to you and your children forever, because you faithfully followed the Lord my God.’
10 Look—the Lord has kept me alive these past forty-five years as he promised, from the time the Lord told Moses this while Israel was wandering in the wilderness. Now I'm eighty-five,
Isarelnaw ni kahrawngum kâhei awh navah, Cathut ni hottelah, Mosi koe kâ a poe nah hnin hoi atu totouh, kum 45 touh thung kai heh na hring sak teh, atuteh kum 85 touh ka pha toe.
11 but I'm still as strong today as when Moses sent me out. I'm as strong and ready for battle or for whatever may come as I was then.
Hateiteh, Mosi ni na patoun na hnin e ka thao e patetlah, atu hai ao rah. Hat navah tâco kâennae, taran tuknae koe kâroe thai e patetlah, atu hai kâroe thai rah.
12 So give me the hill country that the Lord spoke about. You heard at that time about the descendants of Anak who lived there in large, fortified towns. If the Lord is with me I will drive them out as the Lord promised.”
Hatdawkvah hat hnin BAWIPA ni kâ poe e, hete mon hah kai na poe haw. Hete mon dawkvah Anakim taminaw a onae, kalenpounge ka cak poung e khopuinaw a kawi hah, hat hnin vah nang ni na thai toe. Hatei Cathut teh, kai hoi rei awm pawiteh, kâ na poe e patetlah hotnaw hah pâlei hanelah, kai ni ka ti thai atipouh.
13 So Joshua blessed Caleb and granted him ownership of Hebron.
Hat torei teh, Joshua ni yawhawi a poe. Hebron ram hai Jephunneh e capa Kaleb ni râw coe hanelah a poe.
14 So Hebron belonged to Caleb, son of Jephunneh the Kenizzite, from that day to this because he had faithfully followed the Lord, the God of Israel.
Hatdawkvah, Keniz miphun Jephunneh e a capa Kaleb ni Isarelnaw e BAWIPA Cathut e hnuk a kâbang dawkvah, Hebron ram teh sahnin totouh Kaleb e râw lah ao.
15 (Hebron was formerly called Kiriath-arba, named after a great leader of the descendants of Anak.) And the land was at peace.
Hebron kho teh, yampa vah, Kiriath-Arba lah ao. Arba teh, Anakim miphunnaw dawk kacue lah ao. Hat navah, ram thung tarantuknae a roum.
