1 These are the kings that the Israelites defeated when they took possession of their land east of the Jordan, from the Arnon valley in the south to Mount Hermon in the north, including all the land on the east side of the Jordan.

ואלה מלכי הארץ אשר הכו בני ישראל וירשו את ארצם בעבר הירדן מזרחה השמש מנחל ארנון עד הר חרמון וכל הערבה מזרחה׃

2 Sihon, king of the Amorites, who lived in Heshbon, ruled from Aroer on the edge of the Arnon valley, all the way from the middle of the valley to the Jabbok River, the boundary with the Ammonites (and included half of Gilead).

סיחון מלך האמרי היושב בחשבון משל מערוער אשר על שפת נחל ארנון ותוך הנחל וחצי הגלעד ועד יבק הנחל גבול בני עמון׃

3 His territory also included the Jordan Valley up to the sea of Kinnereth and land to the east, and all the way down to the Salt Sea, east towards Beth-jeshimoth and south to the slopes of Pisgah.

והערבה עד ים כנרות מזרחה ועד ים הערבה ים המלח מזרחה דרך בית הישמות ומתימן תחת אשדות הפסגה׃

4 King Og of Bashan, one of the last of the Rephaites, who lived in Ashtaroth and Edrei,

וגבול עוג מלך הבשן מיתר הרפאים היושב בעשתרות ובאדרעי׃

5 ruled in the north from Mount Hermon to Sacaleh, and all of Bashan to the east, and west to the borders of the Geshurites and Maacathites, together with half of Gilead up to the border of Sihon, king of Heshbon.

ומשל בהר חרמון ובסלכה ובכל הבשן עד גבול הגשורי והמעכתי וחצי הגלעד גבול סיחון מלך חשבון׃

6 Moses, the servant of the Lord, and the Israelites had defeated them, and Moses had allotted the land to the tribes of Reuben, Gad, and the half-tribe of Manasseh.

משה עבד יהוה ובני ישראל הכום ויתנה משה עבד יהוה ירשה לראובני ולגדי ולחצי שבט המנשה׃

7 These are the kings of the land that Joshua and the Israelites defeated to the west of the Jordan, from Baal Gad in the valley of Lebanon to Mount Halak leading to Seir. Joshua gave it to the tribes of Israel to own as it was allotted to them.

ואלה מלכי הארץ אשר הכה יהושע ובני ישראל בעבר הירדן ימה מבעל גד בבקעת הלבנון ועד ההר החלק העלה שעירה ויתנה יהושע לשבטי ישראל ירשה כמחלקתם׃

8 The land included the hill country, the foothills, the Jordan Valley, the slopes, and the Negev desert—the land of the Hittites, Amorites, Canaanites, Perizzites, Hivites, and Jebusites.

בהר ובשפלה ובערבה ובאשדות ובמדבר ובנגב החתי האמרי והכנעני הפרזי החוי והיבוסי׃

9 The king of Jericho. The king of Ai, near Bethel.

מלך יריחו אחד מלך העי אשר מצד בית אל אחד׃

10 The king of Jerusalem. The king of Hebron.

מלך ירושלם אחד מלך חברון אחד׃

11 The king of Jarmuth. The king of Lachish.

מלך ירמות אחד מלך לכיש אחד׃

12 The king of Eglon. The king of Gezer.

מלך עגלון אחד מלך גזר אחד׃

13 The king of Debir. The king of Geder.

מלך דבר אחד מלך גדר אחד׃

14 The king of Hormah. The king of Arad.
