Jonah 3
1 Then the Lord spoke to Jonah for a second time.
| ئینجا جارێکی دیکە فەرمایشتی یەزدان بۆ یونس هاتەوە، پێی فەرموو: |
2 “Go immediately to the great city of Nineveh and announce the message I'm giving you.”
| «هەستە بڕۆ بۆ شاری مەزنی نەینەوا، ئەو پەیامەی پێت دەفەرمووم پێی ڕابگەیەنە.» |
3 Jonah did what God told him. He set out and went to Nineveh, a city that was so big it took three days to walk through it.
| یونسیش بەو شێوەیەی یەزدان پێی فەرموو هەستا و چوو بۆ نەینەوا، نەینەواش شارێکی زۆر مەزن بوو، سەردانیکردنی پێویستی بە سێ ڕۆژ هەبوو. |
4 Jonah went into the city, walking for one day, shouting out, “In forty days Nineveh will be destroyed!”
| یونس چووە ناو شارەکە. لە یەکەم ڕۆژەوە بانگەوازی کرد و گوتی: «چل ڕۆژی دیکە نەینەوا سەرەوژێر دەبێت.» |
5 The people of Nineveh believed in God. They announced a fast, and all of them, from the greatest to the least, put on sackcloth.
| ئیتر خەڵکی نەینەوا باوەڕیان بە خودا هێنا، بانگەوازی ڕۆژووگرتنیان ڕاگەیاند و جلوبەرگی گوشیان پۆشی، لە گەورەیانەوە هەتا بچووکیان. |
6 When the news of what was happening reached the king of Nineveh he came down from his throne, took off his robe, put on sackcloth, and sat in ashes.
| کارەکە گەیشتەوە پاشای نەینەوا، ئەویش لەسەر تەختەکەی هەستا و کەواکەی لەبەر خۆی داکەند، جلوبەرگی گوشی پۆشی و لەسەر خۆڵەمێش دانیشت. |
7 Then the king and the nobles issued a proclamation throughout Nineveh: “No person, no animal, no herd, and no flock, shall eat or drink anything.
| ئیتر لە نەینەوا جاڕدرا و گوترا: بە فەرمانی پاشا و پیاوە گەورەکانی: نابێت نە خەڵک و نە ئاژەڵ، نە لە گاگەل نە لە مێگەل، هیچ بچێژن، مەهێڵن نان بخۆن و ئاو بخۆنەوە. |
8 Every person and every animal is to wear sackcloth. Everyone is to pray sincerely to God, give up the evil things they do, and stop using violence.
| با خەڵک و ئاژەڵەکان جلوبەرگی گوش بپۆشن و زۆر لە خودا بپاڕێنەوە، با هەریەکە لە ڕێگا خراپەکانی و لە ستەمکارییەکەی بگەڕێتەوە. |
9 Who knows? God may change his mind and relent. He may decide not to destroy us in his fierce anger.”
| کێ دەزانێت؟ بەڵکو خودا سزایەکە ڕەت بکاتەوە، کڵپەی تووڕەییەکەی دابمرکێتەوە و لەناونەچین. |
10 God saw what they had done—that they had given up their evil ways—so he changed his mind and did not carry out the destruction he had threatened.
| کاتێک خودا کارەکانی ئەوانی بینی، بینی وا لە ڕێگای خراپەکاری گەڕاونەتەوە، خودا پاشگەز بووەوە لەو خراپەیەی کە فەرمووبووی بەسەریان دەهێنێت، ئیتر نەیکرد. |
