< John 1 >
1 In the beginning the Word already was. The Word was with God, and the Word was God.
Hula ahwande hwa hali izu lyali pamo no Ngolobhe, izu ali yo Ngolobhe.
2 In the beginning he was with God.
Eli, Ezu, Nalya handaga lyali pamo no Ngolobhe.
3 Everything came into being through him; nothing came into being without him.
Evintu vyonti vyabhombeshe ashilile omwene, asibhe omweje na hamo ata hantu hamo hahabhombeshe.
4 In him was life, the life that was the light of everyone.
Muhati yakwe mwali no womi, na wope owomi wali lukhozyo lwa bhantu bhonti.
5 The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not extinguished it.
Olukhozyo lwakholaga munkisi, enkisi yapotilwe aluzimye.
6 God sent a man named John.
Pahali omuntu watumwilwe afume hwa Ngolobhe, ola itawa lyakwe ali yo Yohana.
7 He came as a witness to explain about the light so that everyone might believe through him.
Ahanzele nanshi keeti ahakikisye ahusu olukhozyo, aje bhonti nkabhapate ahweteshele ashilile hwamwene.
8 He himself was not the light, but he came to witness to the light.
O Yohana sagali lukhozyo, ila ahenzele nkahakikisye ahusu lula olukozyo.
9 The true light was coming into the world to give light to everyone.
Esho alilukhozyo lwelyoli lula lwalwahenzaga munsi lyope lwapanga shila muntu.
10 He was in the world, and though the world was made through him, the world didn't know who he was.
munsi, na ensi yabhombwelwe ashilile omwahale, na ensi seyamenye.
11 He came to his own people, but they didn't accept him.
Ahaenzele hwabhantu bhakwe, na awantu wakwe na abhantu wakwe sebhaposheye.
12 But to all those who accepted him and trusted in him, he gave the right to become God's children.
Ila hwabhala abhinji bhabhaposheye, bhabhahetesheye itawa lyakwe, nebho abhapiye elyoli eyaje bhana bha Ngolobhe,
13 These are the children born not in the usual way, not as the result of human desire or a father's decision, but born of God.
Bhabhapepwe, se hwidanda, wala hulusongwo lwe bele, sio olusongwo lwa muntu, ila lwa Ngolobhe yoyo.
14 The Word became human and lived among us, and we saw his glory, the glory of the Father's one and only Son, full of grace and truth.
Lyope izu lyabhoshe lwebele na lyakhala muhati yeetu, tiulolile oumwamu wakwe, oumwamu nashi wa muntu mwene wahenzele afume hwa Daada, amemile uwene ne lyoli.
15 John gave his testimony about him, shouting out to the people, “This is the one I was telling you about when I said, ‘The one who is coming after me is more important than me, for before I ever existed he already was.’”
O Yohana ahakikizye ahusu omwene, na afumizye izu ayanje, “Ono yayola wanayanjile enongwa zyakwe najile, “Ola wayenza pamande yane yo gosi ashile ane, afuatanaje ahali kabla yaline.”
16 We have all been recipients of his generous nature, one gracious gift after another.
Afuatanaje ashilile oluu golosu lwake, ate tenti tiposheye wene eshipawa baadaye shipawa.
17 The law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.
Afuatanaje endajizo zyaliletilwe ashilile oMusa. Ewene ne lyoli vyahenzele ashilile oYesu Kilisti.
18 While no one has ever seen God, God the one and only, who is close to the Father, has shown us what God is like.
Nomo omuntu walolile Ongolobhe omuda gwagwonti. Omuntu mwene ambayo yo Ngolobhe, walipashifubha sha Daada, abhombile aje omwene amanyishe.
19 This is what John publicly stated when the Jewish leaders sent priests and Levites from Jerusalem to ask him, “Who are you?”
Na olu luhakikisyo lwa Yohana lula adimi na lawi bhabhatumwilwe hwa mwene na Yahudi ahubhozye, “Aje awe wenanu?”
20 John declared plainly and clearly without hesitation, “I am not the Messiah.”
Bila asyoshe syoshe saga akhene, aje “Anesene Kilisiti.”
21 “So then, who are you?” they asked. “Elijah?” “No, I'm not,” he answered. “Are you the Prophet?” “No,” he replied.
Esho bhabhaozyezye, “eshi awe we nanu esalezi?” We Eliya? Ajile, “Ane see yayoyo.” Wajile we kuwaa? Ajile,” Hagha.”
22 “Well, who are you, then?” they asked. “We have to give an answer to those who sent us. What do you say about yourself?”
Antele bhabhozya, “Wee nanu, aje nkati bhapele ijibu bhabhatitumile”? Uhwihakikisya bhole wewe humwene?”
23 “I am a voice calling in the desert, ‘Make the Lord's way straight!’” he said, using the words of the prophet Isaiah.
Waga, “Ane ne lizu lyakwe walila mwipoli: 'Golosyaji idala lya Ngolobhe,' na okuwa oIsaya shayanjile.”
24 The priests and Levites sent by the Pharisees
Eshi bhahali abhantu bhatumwile na Mafalisayo. Bhabhozyezya aje,
25 asked him, “Why then are you baptizing, if you're not the Messiah, or Elijah, or the Prophet?”
“Yenu ohwozya eshi nkashewe Kilisiti wala see we Eliya okuwaa?”
26 John replied, “I baptize with water, but standing among you is someone you don't know.
O Yohana abhabhozyezye ajile, “Embozya hu menze. Ata sheshi mhati yenyu ahwemelela omuntu wa semumenye amwe.
27 He is coming after me, but I am not even worthy to untie his sandals.”
Onu ndiyo wanzahwenze pamande yaline. Ane sihwanziwa alegezye ekamba zye vilato.”
28 This all happened in Bethany beyond the Jordan, where John was baptizing.
Enongwa ezi zyabhombeshe ohwo hu Bethania, hwisyela lye Yordani, esehemu ambayo oYohana alihwozya.
29 The next day John saw Jesus approaching him, and said, “Look, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!
Isiku lyalyafwatile oYohana alolile uYesu ahwenza hwa mwene ajile, “Enya mwanangole wa Ngolobhe wahwega embibhi zya munsi!
30 This is the one I was talking about when I said, ‘A man who is coming after me is more important than me, for before I ever existed he already was.’
ono yayola wana yanjile enongwa zyakwe najile, “Omwene wayenza hwi akhosi yane yo gosi ashile ane, afwatanaje ali hwitazi lyaline.'
31 I didn't know myself who he was, but I came baptizing with water so that he could be revealed to Israel.”
Senamenye omwene, ila shabhombeshe esho aje nkobheneshe mu Israeli, aje nahenzele nabhozyaga na menze.”
32 John gave his evidence about him, saying, “I saw the Spirit descend from heaven like a dove and rest upon him.
O Yohana ahakikisizye, “Aje nalolile Ompepo ahwiha afume amwanya ofwana ngwe njebha, yasageye pamwanya yakwe.
33 I wouldn't have known him except he who sent me to baptize with water had told me, ‘The one you see the Spirit descend to and rest upon, he is the one who baptizes with the Holy Spirit.’
Ane senamenye ila omwene wantumile aje enozyaje na menze ambozyezye, 'ola wobhalole empempo ehwiha na khale pamwanya yakwe, Oyo waibhozya hwo Mpepo Ofinjile.'
34 I saw it happen and I declare that this is the Son of God.”
Endolile na ehakikisizye aje ono Mwana wa Ngolobhe.”
35 The next day John was standing there with two of his disciples.
Nantele isiku lyalyafuatile oYohana ali ayemeleye pandwemo na bhanafunzi bhakwe bhabhele,
36 He saw Jesus passing by, and said, “Look! This is the Lamb of God!”
bhalolile oYesu ajenda no Yohana ajile, “Enyaji, Omwana ngole wa Ngolobhe!”
37 When the two disciples heard what he said they went and followed Jesus.
bhabhele bhamwonvwezye oYohana nayanga ega bhafuatile oYesu.
38 Jesus turned round and saw them following him. “What are you looking for?” he asked them. “Rabbi (which means ‘Teacher’), where are you staying?” they asked in reply.
Nantele oYesu agalushe na bhalole abhanafunzi bhala bhahulondolela, nabhabhozye, “Mhwanza yenu?” Bhajile, “Labi, (emaana yakwe 'mwalimu,' ukhala hwii?”
39 “Come and see,” he told them. So they went with him and saw where he was staying. It was about four p.m., and they spent the rest of the day with him.
Wabhabhozya, “Enzaji mulole.”Nantele bhabhalile alole pale pakhalaga; bhakheye pamo nawo isiku elyo, afwatanaje yali efishile saa kumi eshi.
40 Andrew, the brother of Simon Peter, was one of these two disciples who had heard what John said and followed Jesus.
Omomo wa bhala bhabhele bhabhamwonvwezye oYohana nayanga nantele bhafwatile oYesu ali yo Andeleya, oholo wakwe oSimoni Petulo.
41 He went at once to find his brother Simon and told him, “We've found the Messiah!” (which means “Christ”).
Alolile oholo wakwe oSimoni omwana nahubhozye, “Tipete Omasihi” (maana yakwe Kilisiti).
42 He took him to Jesus. Looking directly at Simon, Jesus said, “You are Simon, son of John. But now you will be called Cephas,” (which means “Peter”).
Bhaleta hwa Yesu. O Yesu amwezi na ajile, “Awe we Simoni omwana wa Yohana” obhakwiziwe Kefa,” (maana yakwe 'Petulo').
43 The next day Jesus decided to go to Galilee. Jesus found Philip there, and told him, “Follow me.”
Isiku lyalyafuatile oYesu lwahanzaga asogole abhale huGalilaya, amwajile oFilipo na hubhozye, “Nfwate ane.”
44 Philip was from Bethsaida, the same town that Andrew and Peter came from.
O Filipo ali khaya wa hu Bethsaida, ekhaya ya Andrea no Petulo.
45 Philip found Nathanael and told him, “We've found the one that Moses wrote about in the law and that the prophets did too—Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph.”
O Filipo amwajile o Nathanaeli na hubhozye aje timwajile ola oMusa wa handishe enongwa zyakwe mu ndajizyo na Kuwaa. O Yesu omwana wa Yusufu, afume hu Nazareti.
46 “From Nazareth? Can anything good come from there?” Nathanael wondered. “Just come and see,” Philip replied.
O Nathanaeli abhozyezye, “Aje ahantu ahinza hawezizye afumile hu Nazareti?” O Filipo abhozezye, Aje enzaga olole.”
47 As Jesus saw Nathanael approaching, he said about him, “Look, here's a true Israelite! There's nothing false about him.”
U Yesu walola oNathanaeli ahwenza hwa mwene wayanga, “Waga oyenye Omwisraeli welyoli lyoli wasaga ali nilenka muhati yakwe!”
48 “How do you know who I am?” Nathanael asked. “I saw you there under the fig tree, before Philip called you,” Jesus replied.
O Nathanaeli wabhozya, “Amenyebhole ane?” O Yesu wabhozya, “Salisele oFilipo ahukwizye nawahali pansi yikwi.”
49 “Rabbi, you are the Son of God, the king of Israel!” Nathaniel exclaimed.
O Nathanaeli wayanga, “Waga Mwalimu awe oli Mwana wa Ngolobhe! Awe oli mwene we Wisraeli”!
50 “You believe this just because I told you I saw you under the fig tree?” Jesus replied. “You'll get to see much more than that!”
O Yesu wayanag wabhozya, “Aje afuatanaje nabhozezye 'nalilolile pansi yikwi aje ohweteshele obhalole embombo engosi ashile ezi.”
51 Then Jesus said, “I tell you the truth, you will all see heaven open, and the angels of God going up and down on the Son of man.”
O Yesu wabhabhozya aje eteshile etesheli embabho lya mubhazilole emwonya zihwiguha, mubhabhalole ahalozelu wazubha na hwishe amwanya hwa Mwana wa Adamu.”
