< John 6 >
1 After this, Jesus left to go to the other side of the Sea of Galilee (also known as the Sea of Tiberias).
Ejile emisango ejo, Yesu agendele kungego ya inyanja ya Galilaya niyo eibhilikilwa Inyanja ya Tiberia.
2 A large crowd was following him, for they'd seen his miracles of healing.
Echise chinene nichimulubha kwo kubha bhalolele ebhibhalikisho bhinu akolele ku bhalwae.
3 Jesus went up a hill and sat down there with his disciples.
Yesu nalinya ingulu kulubhala lwa ingulu lwe chima neyanja eyo na bheingisibwa bhae.
4 The time for the Jewish festival of the Passover was approaching.
(Na ipasaka, ya malya ga Bhayaudi galiga gali yei).
5 When Jesus looked up, and saw a large crowd coming towards him, he asked Philip, “Where can we buy enough bread to feed all these people?”
Yesu anaenamusha ameso Gaye aliga galiyeyi na Lola chise chinene chimujako, kumwene na mubhusha Filipo ati, “Echijaki okugula ebhilo koleleki abhanu bhanu bhabhone okulya”?
6 He only asked this to see how Philip would respond, because Jesus already knew what he was going to do.
(Nawe Yesu ajaikile jinu ku Filipo kumusaka kwokubha omwene aliga amenyele chinu kenda okukola).
7 “Two hundred silver coins wouldn't buy enough bread to give everyone even just a little,” Philip replied.
Filipo namusubya ati, “Nolwo ebilyo bye chibhalo silingi magana gabhili bhitakabheile nolwo bili umwi akabhene katoto.”
8 One of his disciples, Andrew, Simon Peter's brother, spoke up.
Andrea, oumwi wa bheigisibwa bhae omumula wabho Simon Petro namubwila ati
9 “There's a boy here who has five barley loaves and a couple of fish, but what good is that when there are so many people?”
Yesu, “Aliyo omusigaji anu ana emikate etanu na jiswi ebhili, nawe bhinu ni woki mubhanu bhafu kutyo?”
10 “Have everybody sit down,” Jesus said. There was plenty of grass there, so they all sat down, the men numbering around five thousand.
Yesu nabhabwila ati, “Mubheyanje abhanu asi” (bwaliga bhulio bhunyasi bwafu kulubhaju ao). Kutyo abhalune bhali uti bhisila bhitanu nibheyanja asi.
11 Jesus took the bread, gave thanks, and had it handed out to the people as they sat there. Then he did the same with the fishes, making sure the people had as much as they wanted.
Mbe Yesu nagega emikate ejo etanu nasima na bhagabhila abhanu bhaliga bheyanjile. Kutyo kutyo nabhagabhila jiswi lya kutyo aliga mbenda.
12 Once they were all full, he said to his disciples, “Collect what's left over so nothing is wasted.”
Abhanu bhejile bhakeguta, nabhabwila abheigisibwa bhae ati, “Mubhikofye ebhibhutu bya jinswi, bhinu byasigae koleleki chasiga kubhulao chona chona”.
13 So they collected and filled twelve baskets with the pieces of the five barley loaves the people had eaten.
Mbe nibhakofya na nibhejusha ebibho ekumi na bhilili, ebhibhala bye mikate etanu eja jisairi-ebibhala bhinu byasigae kubhanu bhanu bhalie.
14 When the people saw this miracle, they said, “Surely this is the Prophet who was to come into the world.”
Mbe abhanu bhejile bhalola echibhalikisho chinu akolele nibhaika ati, “Chimali unu niwe omulagi unu kaja muchalo.”
15 Jesus realized that they were about to force him to become their king, so he left them and went up into the hills to be by himself.
Yesu ejile amenya ati abhenda okumwagwata koleleki bhamukole kubha mukama webwe, atagene nabho, nagenda kuchima omwene enyele.
16 When evening came, his disciples went down to the sea,
Kwejile kwakinga kegolo, abheigisibwa bhae nibhatebhela kumwalo.
17 climbed into a boat, and headed across the water towards Capernaum. By now it was night and Jesus had not joined them yet.
Nibhalinya mubwato nabhaliga nibhambuka okugenda Kapernaumu. (Echisute chaliga chengie na Yesu aliga achali kubhakingako kubhene).
18 A strong wind began blowing and the sea grew rough.
Omwanya ogwo omuyaga gwaliga nguyemba, na inyanja nigendelela okusaluma.
19 When they had rowed three or four miles, they saw Jesus walking on the sea, coming towards the boat. They were very frightened.
Lindi abheigisibwa bhae bhaliga nibhafuga mafugile makumi gabhili na gatanu amwi makumi gasatu, nibhamulola Yesu nalibhata ingulu ya inyanja nafugela ku bwato, nibhobhaya.
20 “Don't be afraid!” he told them. “It's me.”
Nawe nabhabwila ati, “Nanye! Musige okubhayana”.
21 Then they gladly took him into the boat, and immediately they reached the shore where they were going.
Lindi bhaliga bhekilisishe okumuyeka okwingisha mubwato, ao nao obwato nibhugobha kuchalo enu bhaliga nibhaja.
22 The next day the crowd that had stayed on the other side of the sea noticed that there had been only one boat there, and that Jesus had not got into the boat with his disciples, but they had left without him.
Olusiku lunu lwalubhiye echise chaliga chimeleguyu kugego ya inyanja nibhalola ati bhutalio bwato bhundi tali bhunu Yesu na bheigisibwa bhae bhaliga bhachali kulinya nawe abheigisibwa bhae bhaliga bhagengele jebwe bhenyele.
23 Then other boats arrived from Tiberias, landing near to the place where they'd eaten the bread once the Lord had blessed it.
(Amwi no kubhao amato agandi ago gasokele Tiberia ayei nanu bhaliye emikate unu Lata bhugenyi asimiye).
24 Once the crowd realized that neither Jesus nor his disciples were there, they got into the boats and went over to Capernaum, looking for Jesus.
Omwanya echise bhejile bhamenya ati kubha atali Yesu nolwo abheigisibwa bhae bhaliga bhalyeyo, abhene abho bhalinyile munda ya mato nibhagenda Kapernaumu nibhamuyenja Yesu.
25 When they found him on the other side of the sea, they asked him, “Rabbi, when did you get here?”
Bhejile bhamulola kugego yendeyo ya inyanja nibhamubhusha, “Rabi wejile enu lii?”
26 “I tell you the truth,” Jesus replied, “you're looking for me because you ate as much bread as you wanted, not because you understood the miracles.
Yesu nabhasubya, nabhabwila ati, Nichimali, chimali, omuyenja anye, tali kwo kubha mwalole echibhalikisho, nawe kwo kubha mwaliye emikate no kwiguta.
27 Don't be preoccupied about food that doesn't last, but concentrate on the lasting food of eternal life which the Son of man will give you, for God the Father has placed his seal of approval on him.” (aiōnios )
Musige okukolela emilimu ebhilyo bhinu ebhinyamuka, nawe muchikolele emilimu ebhilyo bhinu ebhikala nolwo obhuanga bhunu omwana wo munu kabhayana, kubha Nyamuanga Lata amuteyeo omuuli ingulu yaye.” (aiōnios )
28 So they asked him, “What do we have to do in order to do what God wants?”
Mbe nibhamulola ati, “Nichinuki chinu chiile okukola koleleki okujikola emilimu ja Nyamuanga?”
29 Jesus replied, “What God wants you to do is to trust in the one he sent.”
Yesu nasubya ati, “gunu nigwo omulimu gwa Nyamuanga: Ati mumwikilishe omwene antumile.”
30 “What miracle are you going to perform for us to see so we can trust you? What are you able to do?” they asked.
Mbe nibhamubwila ati, “Ni chibhalikishoki chinu ouja okukola ati echitula okulola no kwikilisha? Oukola chinuki?
31 “Our forefathers ate manna in the desert in fulfillment of the Scripture that says, ‘He gave them bread from heaven to eat.’”
Bhalata bheswe bhaliye ebhilo ebhala, lwa kutyo jandikilwe, “Abhayaye emikate okusoka mulwile koleleki bhalye.”
32 “I tell you the truth, it wasn't Moses who gave you bread from heaven,” Jesus replied. “It's my Father who gives you the true bread of heaven.
Mbe Yesunabhasubya ati, “Nichimali, chimali, atali Musa oyoabhayeye omukate okusoka mulwile, nawe Lata wani niwe kabhayana omukate gwe chimali okusoka mulwile.
33 For the bread of God is the one who comes from heaven and gives life to the world.”
Kwokubha omukate gwa Nyamuanga ni guliya okwika okusoka mulwile no kuyana obhuanga echalo.
34 “Lord, please give us this kind of bread all the time!” they said.
Mbe nibhamubya ati, “Lata bhugenyi chiyane omukate gunu omwanya gwona.”
35 “I am the bread of life,” Jesus replied. “Anyone who comes to me will never be hungry again, and anyone who trusts in me will never be thirsty again.
Yesu nabhabwila ati, “Anye nanye omukate gwo bhuanga, unu kanyijako kwanye atalilumwa mweko no mwene unu kanyikilisha atalitwa bhulilo kata.”
36 But as I explained to you before, you have seen me, but you still don't trust me.
Nawe nabhabwila ati, mwandola, na muchali kunyikilisha.
37 All those the Father gives me will come to me, and I won't reject any of them.
Bhona bhanu Lata kanana bhalija kwanye, wona wona unu kaja kwanye nitalimwesa anja katyali.
38 For I came down from heaven not to do what I want, but to do what the one who sent me wants.
Kwo kubha nisokele mulwile, tali kwo kukola kwenda kwani, nawe okwenda kwaye unu antumile.
39 What he wants is for me not to lose anyone he has given to me, but for me to raise them up at the last day.
Na ganu nigo okwenda kweye unu antumile ati, nisige okumubhusha nolwo umwi ku bhaliya ananile, nawe enebhasulula ku lusiku lwa kubhutelo.
40 What my Father wants is for everyone who sees the Son and trusts in him to have eternal life, and for me to raise them up at the last day.” (aiōnios )
Kwo kubha kunu nikokwenda kwa Lata wani ati, wona wona unu kamulola Omwana no kunyikilisha abhone obhuanga bwa kajanende; nanye ndimusulula ku lusiku lwo bhutelo. (aiōnios )
41 Then the Jews began to grumble about him because he had said, “I am the bread that came down from heaven.”
Mbe Abhayaudi nibhetong'anila kwo kubha aikile, “Anye ni mukate ogwo gwekile okusoka mulwile.”
42 They said, “Isn't this Jesus, the son of Joseph? We know his father and his mother. So how can he now tell us, ‘I came down from heaven’?”
Nibhaika ati, “Unu atali Yesu omwana wa Yusufu, unu esemwene wae na nyilamwene wae chimumenyele? Yabha kutiki woli kaika, 'Nasokele mulwile'?”
43 “Stop grumbling to each other,” Jesus said.
Yesu nasubya, nabhabwila ati, “musige kwitong'anila emwe abhene.
44 “No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me attracts them, and I will raise them up at the last day.
Atali unu kaja kwanye akalema okukululwa na Lata wani unu antumile nanye ndimusulula ku lusiku lwo bhutelo.
45 As is written in Scripture by the prophets, ‘Everyone will be taught by God.’ Everyone who listens to and learns from the Father comes to me.
Kwo kubha jandikilwe mu bhalagi, 'Bhaliigisibwa na Nyamuanga.' Bhuli unu kongwa no kwiigila okusoka ku Lata kaja kwanye.
46 Not that anyone has seen God, except he who is from God; he has seen the Father.
Tali ati alio omunu oyo amulolele Lata, atali unu asokele ku Nyamuanga-amulolele Lata.
47 I tell you the truth: anyone who trusts in him has eternal life. (aiōnios )
Nichimali, chimali, unu kekilisha ali no bhuanga bwa kajanende. (aiōnios )
48 I am the bread of life.
Anye nili mukate gwo bhuanga.
49 Your forefathers ate manna in the desert but they still died.
Bhesomwana bhemwe bhaliye ebhilyo ibhala, na nibhafwa.
50 But this is the bread that comes down from heaven, and anyone who eats it won't ever die.
Bhinu nibyo ebhilyo bhinu dbhisoka mulwile' koleleki omunu alyeko kulubhala lwae koleleki atafwa.
51 I am the life-giving bread from heaven, and anyone who eats this bread will live forever. The bread is my flesh that I give so that the world may live.” (aiōn )
Anye ni bhilyo bhinu ebhiyanja bhisokele okusoka mulwile. Alabha omunu wona wona akalya kulubhala bye bhilyo bhinu, alibha muanga kajanende. Ebhilyo bhinu ndigabha ni mubhili gwani kulwo bhuanga bwa isi.” (aiōn )
52 Then the Jews argued heatedly among themselves. “How can this man give us his flesh to eat?” they asked.
Abhayauda nibhabhiililwa abhene kwa bhene na nibhamba okubhambashanya nbhaika ati, “Omunu unu katulaatiki okuchiana omubhili gwae chigulye?”
53 Jesus told them, “I tell you the truth, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of man and drink his blood, you cannot truly live.
Mbe Yesu nabhabwila ati, “Nichimali, chimali, mukalema okugulya omubhili gwo Mwana wo Munu no kunywa amanyinga gae, mutakubha no bhuanga muda yemwe.
54 Those who eat my flesh and drink my blood have eternal life, and I will raise them up at the last day. (aiōnios )
Wona wona unu kalya omubhili gwani no kunywa amanyinga gani anabho ubhuanga bwa kajanende, anye enimusulula kulusiku lwo bhutelo. (aiōnios )
55 For my flesh is true food, and my blood is true drink.
Kwo kubha omubhili gwani no bhilyo bye chimali, na manyinga gani nicho echo kunywa check chimali.
56 Those who eat my flesh and drink my blood remain in me, and I remain in them.
Unu kalya omubhili gwani no kunywa amanyinga gani kekala mwanye, nanye mu mwene.
57 Just as the life-giving Father sent me and I live because of the Father, so anyone who feeds on me will live because of me.
Alabha Lata omwene ni wo bhuanga antumile, na kutyo kekala kwo kubha Lata, na unu ona kalama kwo bhutulo bwani.
58 Now this is the bread that came down from heaven, not the kind your forefathers ate and still died. Anyone who eats this bread will live forever.” (aiōn )
Gunu nigwo omukate gunungwasokele mulwile, atali lwa bhalata kutyo bhaliye nibhafwa. Unu kagulyaomukate gunu kalama kajanende. (aiōn )
59 Jesus explained this while he was teaching in a synagogue at Capernaum.
Yesu aikile emisango jinu munda ya likofwanya bhunu aliga neigisha eyo Kapernaumu.
60 Many of his disciples when they heard it said, “This is hard to accept! Who can follow it?”
Now abhafu bha bheigisibwa bhae bhejile bhongwa ganu, nibhaika ati, “Linu niigisho ekomeye niga kalitula okulilamila?”
61 Jesus saw that his disciples were complaining about this, so he asked them, “Are you offended by this?
Yesu kwo kubha amenyele atiebheigisibwa bhae bhaliga mbetong'anila emisango jinu, nabhabwila ati mbe omisango gunu nigwo ogubhekujusha?
62 Then what if you were to see the Son ascend to where he was before?
Mbe jilibha kutiki alibha mwamulola omwana wo munu neka okusoka anu aliga okwamba?
63 The Spirit gives life; the physical body doesn't do anything. The words I've told you are spirit and life!
Ni mwoyo nigwo ogutamo obhuanga. Omubhili gutakusakila chinu chona chona. Emisango jinu naika kwemwe ni mwoyo na no bhuanga.
64 Yet there are some of you who don't trust me.” (Jesus had known from the very beginning who didn't trust him, and who would betray him.)
Mbe nawe bhachalio abhunu agati yemwe bhanu bhatakwilisha.” kwo kubha Yesu amenyele kusokelela okwamba unu atakutula okwikilisha no mwene unu alija okumulomela inuku.
65 Jesus added, “This is why I told you that no one can come to me unless it is made possible by the Father.”
Nabhabwila ati, ni kwokubha linu nabhabwiliye ati atalio omunu unu katula okuja kwanye tali ayanibwe na Lata.”
66 From this time on many of Jesus' disciples gave up and no longer followed him.
Abha ya jinu abheigisibwa bhae bhafu bhasubhile inyuma nibhalema okulibhatila nage lindi.
67 Then Jesus asked the twelve disciples, “What about you? Do you want to leave as well?”
Yesu nabhabwila bhaliya ekumina bhabhili, “Mbe nemwe omwenda okugenda?”
68 Simon Peter answered, “Lord, who would we follow? You're the one who has the words of eternal life. (aiōnios )
Simoni Petro namusubya ati, “Lata bhugenyi chije kuga kubha awe uli ne misango Jo bhuanga bwa kajanende, (aiōnios )
69 We trust in you, and we're convinced that you are God's Holy One.”
Na chekilisha no kumenya kubha awe nimwelu wa Nyamuanga.”
70 Jesus replied, “Didn't I choose you, the twelve disciples? Yet one of you is a devil.”
Yesu nabhabwila ati, “Mbe anye nitabhasolele emwe, no umwi wemwe ni shetani?
71 (Jesus was referring to Judas, son of Simon Iscariot. He was the one of the twelve disciples who would betray Jesus.)
Woli aliga naika ku Yuda, omwana wa Simoni Iskariote, kwo kubha aliga niwe unu umwi wa bhaliya ekumina na bhabhili, unu niwe kamulomela inuku Yesu.
