John 20
1 Early on the first day of the week, while it was still dark, Mary Magdalene went to the tomb and saw that the stone had been moved from the entrance.
੧ਹਫ਼ਤੇ ਦੇ ਪਹਿਲੇ ਦਿਨ, ਤੜਕੇ ਮਰਿਯਮ ਮਗਦਲੀਨੀ ਕਬਰ ਕੋਲ ਗਈ, ਜਿੱਥੇ ਯਿਸੂ ਦਾ ਸਰੀਰ ਪਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਸੀ। ਅਜੇ ਹਨ੍ਹੇਰਾ ਹੀ ਸੀ। ਉਸ ਨੇ ਵੇਖਿਆ ਜਿਸ ਪੱਥਰ ਨਾਲ ਕਬਰ ਬੰਦ ਸੀ ਉਹ ਪਰੇ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਸੀ।
2 So she ran to tell Simon Peter and the other disciple, the one Jesus loved, “They've taken the Lord out of the tomb, and we don't know where they've put him.”
੨ਤਾਂ ਮਰਿਯਮ ਭੱਜਦੀ ਹੋਈ ਸ਼ਮਊਨ ਪਤਰਸ ਅਤੇ ਦੂਜੇ ਚੇਲੇ ਨੂੰ ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਯਿਸੂ ਪਿਆਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਸੀ, ਕੋਲ ਗਈ। ਉਸ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਕਬਰ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਕੱਢ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਅਸੀਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਣਦੇ ਕਿ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਕਿੱਥੇ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਹੈ?”
3 Then Peter and the other disciple went to the tomb.
੩ਤਾਂ ਪਤਰਸ ਅਤੇ ਦੂਜਾ ਚੇਲਾ ਕਬਰ ਵੱਲ ਗਏ।
4 The two of them were running together, but the other disciple ran faster and reached the tomb first.
੪ਉਹ ਦੋਵੇਂ ਭੱਜ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ ਪਰ ਦੂਜਾ ਚੇਲਾ ਪਤਰਸ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਤੇਜ ਭੱਜ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਕਬਰ ਕੋਲ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਪਹੁੰਚ ਗਿਆ।
5 He bent down, and looking in he saw the grave-clothes lying there, but he didn't go in.
੫ਇਸ ਨੇ ਥੱਲੇ ਝੁੱਕ ਕੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਵੇਖਿਆ ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਉਹਦਾ ਕਫ਼ਨ ਪਿਆ ਵੇਖਿਆ, ਪਰ ਉਹ ਅੰਦਰ ਨਾ ਗਿਆ।
6 Then Simon Peter arrived after him and went right into the tomb. He saw the linen grave-clothes lying there,
੬ਤਦ ਸ਼ਮਊਨ ਪਤਰਸ ਵੀ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਮਗਰ ਆ ਪਹੁੰਚਾ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਕਬਰ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਵੜ ਗਿਆ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਵੀ ਉੱਥੇ ਕਫ਼ਨ ਪਿਆ ਵੇਖਿਆ।
7 and that the cloth that had been on Jesus' head wasn't with the other grave-clothes but had been folded and placed on its own.
੭ਉਸ ਨੇ ਉਹ ਕੱਪੜਾ ਵੀ ਵੇਖਿਆ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਯਿਸੂ ਦੇ ਸਿਰ ਤੇ ਲਪੇਟਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਸੀ। ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਕੱਪੜਾ ਤਹਿ ਕਰਕੇ ਉਸ ਕਫ਼ਨ ਤੋਂ ਹੱਟ ਕੇ ਇੱਕ ਪਾਸੇ ਪਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਸੀ।
8 Then the other disciple who had reached the tomb first went inside as well.
੮ਫਿਰ ਦੂਜਾ ਚੇਲਾ ਵੀ ਅੰਦਰ ਗਿਆ ਇਹ ਉਹ ਚੇਲਾ ਸੀ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਕਿ ਕਬਰ ਉੱਤੇ ਪਤਰਸ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਪਹੁੰਚਿਆ ਸੀ। ਜਦ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਸਭ ਹੋਇਆ ਵੇਖਿਆ ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਵਿਸ਼ਵਾਸ ਹੋਇਆ।
9 He looked around and believed it was true—for up till then they hadn't understood the Scripture that Jesus had to rise from the dead.
੯ਉਹ ਚੇਲੇ ਉਦੋਂ ਤੱਕ ਇਹ ਨਾ ਸਮਝ ਸਕੇ ਸਨ ਕਿ ਪੋਥੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੀ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਸੀ, ਕਿ ਯਿਸੂ ਮੁਰਦਿਆਂ ਚੋਂ ਜੀ ਉੱਠੇਗਾ।
10 Then the disciples went back to where they were staying.
੧੦ਫ਼ੇਰ ਚੇਲੇ ਘਰ ਨੂੰ ਵਾਪਸ ਚਲੇ ਗਏ।
11 But Mary stayed outside the tomb crying, and as she was crying, she bent down and looked into the tomb.
੧੧ਮਰਿਯਮ ਅਜੇ ਵੀ ਕਬਰ ਦੇ ਬਾਹਰ ਖੜੀ ਰੋ ਰਹੀ ਸੀ ਜਦੋਂ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਰੋਂਦੀ-ਰੋਂਦੀ ਨੇ ਝੁੱਕ ਕੇ ਕਬਰ ਅੰਦਰ ਵੇਖਿਆ।
12 She saw two angels in white, one sitting at the head and the other at the foot of where Jesus' body had been lying.
੧੨ਮਰਿਯਮ ਨੇ ਦੋ ਦੂਤਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਚਿੱਟੇ ਕੱਪੜੇ ਪਾਏ ਹੋਏ ਵੇਖਿਆ, ਉਹ ਉੱਥੇ ਬੈਠੇ ਹੋਏ ਸਨ ਜਿੱਥੇ ਯਿਸੂ ਦਾ ਸਰੀਰ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਸੀ। ਇੱਕ ਦੂਤ ਯਿਸੂ ਦੇ ਸਿਰ ਵਾਲੇ ਪਾਸੇ ਸੀ ਤੇ ਦੂਜਾ ਦੂਤ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਪੈਰਾਂ ਵਾਲੇ ਪਾਸੇ ਸੀ।
13 “Why are you crying?” they asked her. She answered, “Because they've taken my Lord away, and I don't know where they've put him.”
੧੩ਦੂਤਾਂ ਨੇ ਮਰਿਯਮ ਨੂੰ ਪੁੱਛਿਆ, “ਹੇ ਔਰਤ, ਤੂੰ ਰੋ ਕਿਉਂ ਰਹੀ ਹੈਂ?” ਮਰਿਯਮ ਨੇ ਉੱਤਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ, “ਕੁਝ ਲੋਕ ਮੇਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਸਰੀਰ ਲੈ ਗਏ, ਤੇ ਮੈਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਣਦੀ ਕਿ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਕਿੱਥੇ ਰੱਖਿਆ।”
14 After she'd said this, she turned round and saw Jesus standing there, but she didn't realize it was Jesus.
੧੪ਇਹ ਆਖ ਕੇ ਓਹ ਵਾਪਿਸ ਮੁੜੀ, ਤਾਂ ਉੱਥੇ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੂੰ ਖੜਿਆਂ ਵੇਖਿਆ ਪਰ ਉਹ ਇਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੀ ਜਾਣਦੀ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਯਿਸੂ ਹੀ ਹੈ।
15 “Why are you crying?” he asked her. “Who are you looking for?” Assuming he was the gardener, she said to him, “Sir, if you've taken him away, tell me where you've put him so I can go and get him.”
੧੫ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਹੇ ਔਰਤ, ਤੂੰ ਕਿਉਂ ਰੋਂਦੀ ਹੈ? ਅਤੇ ਤੂੰ ਕਿਸਨੂੰ ਭਾਲਦੀ ਹੈਂ?” ਮਰਿਯਮ ਨੇ ਸੋਚਿਆ ਕਿ ਸ਼ਾਇਦ ਇਹ ਆਦਮੀ ਇਸ ਬਾਗ਼ ਦਾ ਮਾਲੀ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਭਈ, ਜੇ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਲੈ ਗਏ ਹੋ, ਤਾਂ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਦੱਸੋ ਕਿ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਕਿੱਥੇ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਹੈ। ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਮੈਂ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲਾ।”
16 Jesus said to her, “Mary!” She turned to him and said, “Rabboni,” which means “Teacher” in Hebrew.
੧੬ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਹੇ ਮਰਿਯਮ।” ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਮੁੜੀ ਅਤੇ ਯਿਸੂ ਵੱਲ ਵੇਖਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਇਬਰਾਨੀ ਭਾਸ਼ਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਬੋਲੀ, “ਰੱਬੋਨੀ” ਭਾਵ “ਪ੍ਰਭੂ।”
17 “Don't hold onto me,” Jesus said to her, “for I haven't yet ascended to my Father; but go to my brothers and tell them I am ascending to my Father and your Father, my God and your God.”
੧੭ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਮੈਨੂੰ ਨਾ ਫ਼ੜ! ਅਜੇ ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਿਤਾ ਕੋਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਗਿਆ। ਪਰ ਤੂੰ ਮੇਰੇ ਭਰਾਵਾਂ ਕੋਲ ਜਾ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਆਖ: ਮੈਂ ਵਾਪਸ ਆਪਣੇ ਅਤੇ ਤੇਰੇ ਪਿਤਾ ਕੋਲ ਜਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹਾਂ। ਮੇਰੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਅਤੇ ਤੇਰੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਕੋਲ।”
18 So Mary Magdalene went and told the disciples, “I've seen the Lord,” and she explained to them what he had said to her.
੧੮ਮਰਿਯਮ ਮਗਦਲੀਨੀ ਚੇਲਿਆਂ ਕੋਲ ਗਈ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ, “ਮੈਂ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖਿਆ ਹੈ।” ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਹ ਬਚਨ ਵੀ ਜੋ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਖੇ ਸਨ।
19 That evening, on the first day of the week, as the disciples were meeting together behind locked doors because they were afraid of the Jews, Jesus came and stood among them and said, “May you have peace.”
੧੯ਉਸੇ ਦਿਨ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਾਮ, ਹਫ਼ਤੇ ਦੇ ਪਹਿਲੇ ਦਿਨ, ਸਾਰੇ ਚੇਲੇ ਇਕੱਠੇ ਹੋਏ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਦਰਵਾਜ਼ੇ ਬੰਦ ਕਰ ਲਏ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਉਹ ਯਹੂਦੀਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਡਰਦੇ ਸਨ। ਤਦ ਯਿਸੂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਆ ਕੇ ਖੜ੍ਹਾ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਸ਼ਾਂਤੀ ਮਿਲੇ ।”
20 After this greeting he showed them his hands and his side. The disciples were full of joy to see the Lord.
੨੦ਜਦੋਂ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਆਖਿਆ ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਚੇਲਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਹੱਥ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਵੱਖੀ ਵਿਖਾਈ। ਚੇਲੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਬੜੇ ਖੁਸ਼ ਹੋਏ।
21 “May you have peace!” Jesus told them again. “In the same way the Father sent me, so I'm sending you.”
੨੧ਤਦ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਫਿਰ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਸ਼ਾਂਤੀ ਮਿਲੇ! ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਭੇਜ ਰਿਹਾ ਹਾਂ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਪਿਤਾ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਭੇਜਿਆ ਹੈ।”
22 Saying this, he breathed on them, and told them, “Receive the Holy Spirit.
੨੨ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਆਖਿਆ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਚੇਲਿਆਂ ਉੱਪਰ ਫੂਕ ਮਾਰੀ ਅਤੇ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਆਤਮਾ ਲਵੋ।
23 If you forgive anyone's sins, they are forgiven; if you hold them unforgiven, unforgiven they remain.”
੨੩ਜਦੋਂ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੇ ਪਾਪ ਮਾਫ਼ ਕਰੋ ਤਾਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਪਾਪ ਮਾਫ਼ ਕੀਤੇ ਜਾਣਗੇ, ਤੇ ਜੇ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਪਾਪਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਨਾ ਮਾਫ਼ ਕਰੋ ਤਾਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਪਾਪ ਮਾਫ਼ ਕੀਤੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਣਗੇ।”
24 One of the twelve disciples, Thomas, who was called the Twin, wasn't with them when Jesus came.
੨੪ਜਦ ਯਿਸੂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕੋਲ ਆਇਆ ਤਾਂ ਥੋਮਾ, ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਦੀਦੁਮੁਸ ਵੀ ਕਹਿੰਦੇ ਸਨ, ਉੱਥੇ ਚੇਲਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੀ। ਥੋਮਾ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਬਾਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਇੱਕ ਸੀ।
25 So the other disciples told him, “We've seen the Lord.” But he replied, “I won't believe it unless I see the nail marks in his hands and put my finger in them, and put my hand in his side.”
੨੫ਦੂਜੇ ਚੇਲਿਆਂ ਨੇ ਥੋਮਾ ਨੂੰ ਦੱਸਿਆ, “ਅਸੀਂ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖਿਆ।” ਥੋਮਾ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਮੈਂ ਉਦੋਂ ਤੱਕ ਵਿਸ਼ਵਾਸ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਾਂਗਾ ਜਦ ਤੱਕ ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਹੱਥਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਿੱਲਾਂ ਦੇ ਨਿਸ਼ਾਨ ਤੇ ਛੇਦ ਨਾ ਵੇਖਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਉਂਗਲ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਥਾਵਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਾ ਕੇ ਨਾ ਵੇਖ ਲਵਾਂ ਜਿੱਥੇ ਕਿੱਲਾਂ ਠੋਕੀਆਂ ਗਈਆਂ ਸਨ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਹੱਥ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਵੱਖੀ ਚ ਨਾ ਪਾਵਾਂ।”
26 One week later the disciples were together inside the house; and Thomas was with them. The doors were closed, and Jesus came and stood among them. “May you have peace!” he said.
੨੬ਇੱਕ ਹਫ਼ਤੇ ਬਾਅਦ ਚੇਲੇ ਉਸੇ ਘਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਫਿਰ ਇਕੱਠੇ ਹੋਏ। ਥੋਮਾ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਸੀ। ਦਰਵਾਜ਼ੇ ਬੰਦ ਸਨ ਪਰ ਯਿਸੂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਫ਼ਿਰ ਆਣ ਕੇ ਖੜ੍ਹਾ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਸ਼ਾਂਤੀ ਮਿਲੇ।”
27 Then he said to Thomas, “Put your finger here, and look at my hands. Put your hand in the wound on my side. Stop doubting and trust in me!”
੨੭ਤਦ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਥੋਮਾ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਆਪਣੀ ਉਂਗਲ ਇੱਧਰ ਕਰ, ਅਤੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਹੱਥਾਂ ਵੱਲ ਵੇਖ। ਆਪਣਾ ਹੱਥ ਮੇਰੀ ਵੱਖੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਾੜ। ਸ਼ੱਕ ਨਾ ਕਰ ਸਗੋਂ ਵਿਸ਼ਵਾਸ ਕਰ।”
28 “My Lord and my God!” Thomas responded.
੨੮ਥੋਮਾ ਨੇ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਮੇਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਅਤੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ।”
29 “You trust in me because you've seen me,” Jesus told him. “Happy are those that haven't seen me yet still trust in me.”
੨੯ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਥੋਮਾ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਤੂੰ ਜੋ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਵੇਖਿਆ ਇਸ ਕਰਕੇ ਵਿਸ਼ਵਾਸ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ? ਧੰਨ ਉਹ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਵੀ ਵੇਖਿਆ ਫ਼ਿਰ ਵੀ ਵਿਸ਼ਵਾਸ ਕਰਦੇ।”
30 Jesus did many other miraculous signs while he was with his disciples that are not recorded in this book.
੩੦ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਹੋਰ ਵੀ ਕਈ ਚਮਤਕਾਰ ਕੀਤੇ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਚੇਲਿਆਂ ਨੇ ਵੇਖੇ। ਉਹ ਚਮਤਕਾਰ ਇਸ ਪੁਸਤਕ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਹੀਂ ਲਿਖੇ ਗਏ ਹਨ।
31 But these are written down here so that you may trust that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and that by trusting in him as he is you will have life.
੩੧ਇਹ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਲਿਖੀਆਂ ਗਈਆਂ ਹਨ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਵਿਸ਼ਵਾਸ ਕਰ ਸਕੋ ਕਿ ਯਿਸੂ ਹੀ ਮਸੀਹ ਅਤੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਵਿਸ਼ਵਾਸ ਕਰਕੇ, ਉਸ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਤੋਂ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਜੀਵਨ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰ ਸਕੋ।
