< Job 8 >

1 Then Bildad the Shuhite spoke up and said,
Ìgbà náà ni Bilidadi, ará Ṣuhi, sì dáhùn wí pé,
2 “How much longer will you go on talking like this? The words coming out of your mouth are a lot of hot air!
“Ìwọ yóò ti máa sọ nǹkan wọ̀nyí pẹ́ tó? Tí ọ̀rọ̀ ẹnu rẹ̀ yóò sì máa bí ẹ̀fúùfù ńlá?
3 Does God pervert justice? Does the Almighty pervert what is right?
Ọlọ́run a ha máa yí ìdájọ́ po bí? Tàbí Olódùmarè a máa gbé ẹ̀bi fún aláre?
4 Your children must have sinned against him, and so they deserved the punishment he inflicted on them.
Nígbà tí àwọn ọmọ rẹ̀ ṣẹ̀ sí i, ó sì gbá wọn kúrò nítorí ìrékọjá wọn.
5 But if you pray to God and ask for his help,
Bí ìwọ bá sì ké pe Ọlọ́run ní àkókò, tí ìwọ sì gbàdúrà ẹ̀bẹ̀ sí Olódùmarè.
6 if you live a clean life and do what is right, then he would act to make things right for you in your home.
Ìwọ ìbá jẹ́ mímọ, kí ó sì dúró ṣinṣin: ǹjẹ́ nítòótọ́ nísinsin yìí òun yóò tají fún ọ, òun a sì sọ ibùjókòó òdodo rẹ di púpọ̀.
7 Though you began with next to nothing, you will end up with so much!
Ìpilẹ̀ṣẹ̀ rẹ ìbá tilẹ̀ kéré si í, bẹ́ẹ̀ ìgbẹ̀yìn rẹ ìbá pọ̀ sí i gidigidi.
8 Why don't you ask what previous generations discovered, examine what our ancestors found out? We were born yesterday and don't know anything!
“Èmi bẹ̀ ọ́ ǹjẹ́, béèrè lọ́wọ́ àwọn ará ìgbà nì kí o sì kíyèsi ìwádìí àwọn baba wọn.
9 Our days on earth fade as quickly as a passing shadow.
Nítorí pé ọmọ-àná ni àwa, a kò sì mọ nǹkan, nítorí pé òjìji ni ọjọ́ wa ni ayé.
10 Won't they teach you and explain what they know?
Àwọn kì yóò wa kọ ọ́, wọn kì yóò sì sọ fún ọ? Wọn kì yóò sì sọ̀rọ̀ láti inú òye wọn jáde wá?
11 Can papyrus grow where there is no marsh? Can reeds grow without water?
Papirusi ha lè dàgbà láìní ẹrẹ̀ tàbí eèsún ha lè dàgbà láìlómi?
12 Even without being cut, while they are still flowering, they wither faster than grass.
Nígbà tí ó wà ní tútù, tí a kò ké e lulẹ̀, ó rọ dànù, ewéko gbogbo mìíràn hù dípò rẹ̀.
13 This is what happens to everyone who forgets God. The hopes of those who live without God come to nothing.
Bẹ́ẹ̀ ni ipa ọ̀nà gbogbo àwọn tí ó gbàgbé Ọlọ́run, bẹ́ẹ̀ ni ìrètí àwọn àgàbàgebè yóò di òfo.
14 Their confidence is like holding on to a flimsy spider's web.
Àbá ẹni tí a ó kèé kúrò, àti ìgbẹ́kẹ̀lé ẹni tí ó dàbí ilé aláǹtakùn.
15 They look to their home to provide security, but it provides no support. They try to hang onto it, but it doesn't last.
Yóò fi ara ti ilé rẹ̀, ṣùgbọ́n kì yóò lè dúró, yóò fi di ara rẹ̀ mú ṣinṣin ṣùgbọ́n kì yóò lè dúró pẹ́.
16 Those who live without God are like a luxuriant plant growing in the sun, spreading its shoots all over the garden.
Ó tutù bí irúgbìn tí a bomirin níwájú oòrùn, ẹ̀ka rẹ̀ sì yọ jáde nínú ọgbà rẹ̀.
17 It twists its roots down through the stones, and holds on to rock.
Gbòǹgbò rẹ̀ ta yí ebè ká, ó sì wó ibi òkúta wọ̀n-ọn-nì.
18 But when it's cut down, the place where it was disowns it, saying, ‘I never even saw you.’
Bí ó bá sì pa á run kúrò ní ipò rẹ̀, nígbà náà ni ipò náà yóò sọ, ‘Èmi kò ri ọ rí!’
19 Its life is over, and others spring up from the earth to take its place.
Kíyèsi i, ayé rẹ̀ gbẹ dànù àti láti inú ilẹ̀ ní irúgbìn òmíràn yóò hù jáde wá.
20 Look, God doesn't reject someone who is innocent, and he doesn't support those who are guilty.
“Kíyèsi i, Ọlọ́run kì yóò ta ẹni òtítọ́ nù, bẹ́ẹ̀ ni kì yóò ran oníwà búburú lọ́wọ́
21 He can make you laugh with happiness again and shout for joy.
títí yóò fi fi ẹ̀rín kún ọ ní ẹnu, àti ètè rẹ pẹ̀lú ìhó ayọ̀,
22 Those who hate you will be put to shame, and the place where the wicked live will be destroyed.”
ìtìjú ní a o fi bo àwọn tí ó kórìíra rẹ̀, àti ibùjókòó ènìyàn búburú kì yóò sí mọ́.”
