< Job 34 >

1 Then Elihu continued,
Na Elihu el sifilpa fahk:
2 “Listen to my words, you men who say you are wise; pay attention to what I'm saying you who think you know.
“Lohng kas luk uh, komtal su oru mu komtal lalmwetmwet, Ac ikasla insremtal in lohngyu, komtal su pangon mu komtal etu ma nukewa.
3 The ear distinguishes words just as the palate distinguishes foods.
Komtal etu mongo yu uh ke komtal ac ema uh, Tusruktu komtal tiana akilen kas lalmwetmet ke komtal lohng uh.
4 Let us discern for ourselves what is right: let us decide among ourselves what is good.
Lela kut in tukeni sulela lah pia ma pwaye uh; Ac lela kut in sifacna nunku lah pia ma wo uh.
5 Job said, ‘I am innocent, and God has denied me justice.
Mweyen Job el sifacna fahk mu wangin ma koluk lal, Ac el fahk pac mu God El tiana orek nununku suwohs nu sel.
6 Even though I'm right, I'm treated like a liar; I am dying from my wounds, even though I've done nothing wrong.’
El siyuk ac fahk, ‘Ac fuka ngan kikiap mu oasr ma koluk luk? Nga arulana musalla ke kinet keik, tusruktu wanginna ma koluk luk.’
7 Has there ever been a man like Job with such a thirst for ridiculing others?
“Nu oasr mwet komtal liye oana mwet se Job uh? El oru aksruksruk lal uh ma na fisrasr, oana ke el nim kof uh.
8 He keeps company with wicked people; he associates with those who do evil.
El lungse asruoki nu sin mwet orekma koluk, Ac wi mwet koluk fufahsryesr.
9 He's even said, ‘What benefit is there in being God's friend?’
El fahk kut finne srike in fahsr tukun ma lungse lun God, Wanginna ma ac wo nu sesr kac.
10 So listen to me, you men of understanding! It's impossible for God to do evil and the Almighty to do wrong.
“Porongeyu, komtal su nunku mu oasr etauk la! Ya God Kulana El ku in oru ma sesuwos?
11 He pays people back for what they've done, and treats them as they deserve.
El akinsewowoye mwet uh fal nu ke orekma lalos, Ac folokin nu selos fal nu ke ouiyen moul lalos.
12 It's absolutely sure that God doesn't act wickedly; the Almighty would never pervert justice.
God Kulana El tiana oru ma koluk; Wangin pacl El oru ma sesuwos nu sin mwet uh.
13 Who put him in charge of the earth? Who gave him the responsibility for all the world?
Mea, God El eis ku lal sin sie na? Ya oasr pac sie su sang ku nu sel in liyaung faclu?
14 If he were to withdraw his spirit, if he were to take back his breath,
God El fin sulela sel Elan eisla ngunal ac mongol liki mwet uh,
15 all living things would immediately die and human beings would return to dust.
Na mwet nukewa ma moul uh ac misa Ac sifilpa folokla nu ke kutkut.
16 If you have understanding then hear this; pay attention to what I'm saying.
“Inge, komtal fin lalmwetmet, komtal lohng ma nga ac fahk uh.
17 Do you really think someone who hated justice could govern? Are you going to condemn Almighty God who always does what is right?
Ya komtal fahk mu oasr mwatan God su suwoswoslana? Ya komtal nunku mu El su kulana El lain nununku suwohs?
18 He's the one who tells kings, ‘You're useless!’ or says to nobles, ‘You're wicked!’
God El ku in fahkak mwatan tokosra ac mwet leum uh Ke pacl elos oru ma koluk, ac fin wangin sripalos.
19 He doesn't think more of the rich than the poor, for they are all people he himself made.
El tia wi mwet leum uh lac, Ku oru in wo nu sin mwet kasrup liki mwet sukasrup, Mweyen El pa orala mwet nukewa.
20 They die in a moment; at midnight they shudder and pass away; the mighty are gone without effort.
Sie mwet el ku in misa in kitin pacl na ke fong. God El sringilya mwet uh na elos misa; El uniya mwet ku uh oana ma wangin.
21 For he watches what they're doing and sees everywhere they go.
El taran ma mwet uh oru in pacl nukewa.
22 There is no darkness so deep where people who do evil can hide themselves from him.
Wanginna acn ma lohsr matoltol Ku in okanla mwet koluk uh liki God.
23 God doesn't need to examine anyone in any greater detail that they should come before him for judgment.
God El tia enenu in pakiya pacl Lun sie mwet in som tuh Elan nununku.
24 He brings down the mighty without needing an investigation; he sets up others in their place.
El tia enenu in oasr sukok se orek Tuh Elan sisla mwet kol uh ac aolulosla.
25 Knowing what they've done he overthrows them in a night and destroys them.
Mweyen El etu ma elos oru uh. El ac siselosla ac itungulosi ke fong uh.
26 He strikes them down for their wickedness in public where they can be seen
El akkeokye mwet koluk uh yen mwet nukewa ac ku in liye,
27 because they turned away from following him, disregarding all his ways.
Mweyen elos tila fahsr tokol, Ac elos pilesrala ma sap lal nukewa.
28 They made the poor call out to him, and he heard the cries of the oppressed.
Ke sripalos mwet sukasrup elos wowoyak ac pang nu sin God, Tuh Elan kasrelos, ac God El lohng pusren pang lalos.
29 Yet if God wants to remain silent, who can condemn him? If he chooses to hide his face, who can see him? Whether it concerns a nation or an individual,
“God El fin sulela Elan tiana oru kutu ma, Wangin mwet ac ku in fahk mu oasr ma sutuu sel. El fin okanla mutal, wangin ma mwet uh ac ku in oru.
30 a person who rejects God should not rule so they don't mislead people.
Wangin ma mutanfahl uh ac ku in oru In ikolya mwet ma tia etu God uh in tia leum faclos.
31 If you were to say to God, ‘I have sinned, but I won't do bad things any more.
“Job, ku kom fahkak tari ma koluk lom an nu sin God, Ac wulela kom in tia sifil orekma koluk?
32 Show me what I cannot see. If I have done wrong, I won't do it again,’
Kom nu siyuk God Elan akkalemye nu sum ma kom sufalla kac uh, Ac insese mu kom ac tia sifilpa orekma koluk?
33 then should God reward you for following your own opinions since you have rejected his? You're the one who has to choose, not me! Tell us what you think.
Ke kom lain ma God El oru uh, Ya kom liye mu El ac ku in oru ma kom lungse uh? Sulela uh ac ma na lom, tia ma luk; Fahkma nu sesr ingena ma kom nunku an.
34 For people who understand—those who are wise who have heard what I said—will tell me,
“Kutena mwet ma kalem in nunak uh, ac ku in insese nu sik; Ac kutena mwet lalmwetmet ma lohng kas luk uh, ac ku in fahk lah
35 ‘Job doesn't know what he's talking about. What he says doesn't make any sense.’
Job el kaskas ke lalfon lal, Ac lah wangin kalmen ma el fahk uh.
36 If only Job were thoroughly condemned because he speaks like evil people do.
Nunku akwoya ke ma nukewa ma Job el fahk uh; Komtal ac akilen lah el kaskas oana sie mwet koluk.
37 Now he has added rebellion to his sins; he claps his hands at us, making long speeches full of accusations against God.”
El sang seakos in laesla ma koluk lal uh; El aksruksruki God ye mutasr nukewa.”
