< Job 34 >
Eliyou pran lapawòl ankò. Li di konsa:
2 “Listen to my words, you men who say you are wise; pay attention to what I'm saying you who think you know.
-Nou menm moun lespri yo, koute sa m'ap di nou! Nèg save yo, louvri zòrèy nou!
3 The ear distinguishes words just as the palate distinguishes foods.
Zòrèy konnen lè pawòl bèl menm jan bouch konnen lè manje gou.
4 Let us discern for ourselves what is right: let us decide among ourselves what is good.
Annou wè kote jistis la ye. Ann mete rezon an kote pou l' ye a.
5 Job said, ‘I am innocent, and God has denied me justice.
6 Even though I'm right, I'm treated like a liar; I am dying from my wounds, even though I've done nothing wrong.’
Li di: Si m' di m' antò, se manti m'ap bay. Mwen malad pou m' mouri. Men, m' pa fè anyen ki mal.
7 Has there ever been a man like Job with such a thirst for ridiculing others?
Ou janm jwenn yon moun tankou Jòb? L'ap pase verite Bondye a nan betiz alèz tankou si se dlo l'ap bwè.
8 He keeps company with wicked people; he associates with those who do evil.
Li fè bann ak moun k'ap fè mechanste yo. L'ap pwonmennen ansanm ak malveyan yo.
9 He's even said, ‘What benefit is there in being God's friend?’
Se li menm menm ki di ak bouch li: Sa pa rapòte anyen, lè yon moun ap chache fè volonte Bondye.
10 So listen to me, you men of understanding! It's impossible for God to do evil and the Almighty to do wrong.
11 He pays people back for what they've done, and treats them as they deserve.
Li bay chak moun sa yo merite dapre sa yo fè. Li aji ak yo dapre jan yo mennen bak yo.
12 It's absolutely sure that God doesn't act wickedly; the Almighty would never pervert justice.
Non!
13 Who put him in charge of the earth? Who gave him the responsibility for all the world?
14 If he were to withdraw his spirit, if he were to take back his breath,
-(we vèsè pwochen)
15 all living things would immediately die and human beings would return to dust.
Si Bondye te kenbe souf ki bay lavi a pou tèt li, yon sèl kou a, bèt kou moun ta mouri. Yo ta tounen pousyè tè ankò.
16 If you have understanding then hear this; pay attention to what I'm saying.
17 Do you really think someone who hated justice could govern? Are you going to condemn Almighty God who always does what is right?
18 He's the one who tells kings, ‘You're useless!’ or says to nobles, ‘You're wicked!’
Bondye pini wa yo lè yo fè sa ki mal. Li pini gwo chèf yo lè yo fè mechanste.
19 He doesn't think more of the rich than the poor, for they are all people he himself made.
Li pa nan achte figi chèf yo. Ou te mèt pòv, ou te mèt rich, pa gen diferans pou li, paske se li menm ki fè yo tout.
20 They die in a moment; at midnight they shudder and pass away; the mighty are gone without effort.
Yo rete konsa yo mouri, yo ale nan mitan lannwit. Pèp la annik souke kò l', yo disparèt. Bondye touye gwo chèf yo san li pa leve ti dwèt li.
21 For he watches what they're doing and sees everywhere they go.
L'ap veye tout vire tounen lèzòm. L'ap gade tout kote y'ap mete pye yo.
22 There is no darkness so deep where people who do evil can hide themselves from him.
23 God doesn't need to examine anyone in any greater detail that they should come before him for judgment.
Li pa bezwen voye manda bay moun pou yo prezante devan l' pou l' jije yo.
24 He brings down the mighty without needing an investigation; he sets up others in their place.
Li pa bezwen nan chache konnen pou l' kraze chèf yo, lèfini pou l' mete lòt moun nan plas yo.
25 Knowing what they've done he overthrows them in a night and destroys them.
Paske li konnen dènye sa yo fè. Yon jou lannwit konsa, li desann yo li pilonnen yo anba pye l'.
26 He strikes them down for their wickedness in public where they can be seen
Li souflete yo tankou malfektè nan mitan lari pou tout moun ka wè.
27 because they turned away from following him, disregarding all his ways.
Paske yo te vire do ba li, yo te fè tankou yo pa konnen lòd li bay yo.
28 They made the poor call out to him, and he heard the cries of the oppressed.
Yo fè, yo fè jouk pòv yo rele mande Bondye sekou, jouk Bondye tande jan piti yo ap rele anba men yo.
29 Yet if God wants to remain silent, who can condemn him? If he chooses to hide his face, who can see him? Whether it concerns a nation or an individual,
Men, si Bondye rete san l' pa fè anyen, ki moun ki ka di l' kichòy? Si li kache kò li, ki moun ki ka wè l'! Men, pa pè! L'ap veye sou tout moun nan tout peyi.
30 a person who rejects God should not rule so they don't mislead people.
Li p'ap kite move chèf gouvènen yo, li p'ap kite yo tann pèlen pou pèp la.
31 If you were to say to God, ‘I have sinned, but I won't do bad things any more.
Men, si yon mechan pale ak Bondye, si li di l': -Wi, mwen te fè sa ki mal. Mwen p'ap fè sa ankò.
32 Show me what I cannot see. If I have done wrong, I won't do it again,’
Tanpri. Louvri je m'. Fe m' wè sa m' fè a. Si mwen te aji ak mechanste, mwen p'ap rekonmanse ankò.
33 then should God reward you for following your own opinions since you have rejected his? You're the one who has to choose, not me! Tell us what you think.
34 For people who understand—those who are wise who have heard what I said—will tell me,
Moun lespri ansanm ak moun bon konprann k'ap koute m' yo va di m' konsa:
35 ‘Job doesn't know what he's talking about. What he says doesn't make any sense.’
Jòb ap pale anpil, men li pa konn sa l'ap di. Tou sa l'ap di yo pa gen ni pye ni tèt.
36 If only Job were thoroughly condemned because he speaks like evil people do.
N'a wè li pale tankou yon moun ki mechan nan kè l'.
37 Now he has added rebellion to his sins; he claps his hands at us, making long speeches full of accusations against God.”
Li fin fè kont peche l', koulye a l'ap kenbe tèt ak Bondye. L'ap seye fè nou konprann li pa antò. L'ap plede fè Bondye remontrans.
